Quick , no time to chat we went and cut the tree yesterday, and I cut it down with a little help from Drew. here are a few shots. Every one is well and says Merry Christmas and will post more on boxing day and maybe Christmas Day if I have time. But i think there will be a steadying flow of gifts and wine and hopfully Kell will be busy in the kitchen so maybe boxing day will be better. Love Belinda and Mona

Last Minute Greetings.

G'day Family,
Sorry to take this route, but we leave in the am, so no time for much more. We were supposed to go yeaserday, but just didn't make it.
Peter has had a few bad days, so our trip may be a short one!!
I will still try to ring siblings, but others, this is your " Merry Christmas. A VERY happy New year"!!
Thank you all SO VERY MUCH for the way you all treated me while I was home. You are the best family one could ever ask for & I love you all dearly.
I made Margs' macadamia today, (Thanks Lisa!! You are the best!.) UIt hasn't been cut yet, so wont know how it turned out till we are in Whitefish.
Lots odf snow last night, ( Baah, humbug, a thousand times!!)
Lin & girls will be in Whitefish by now, unless the roads down there are bad. It is about 130 miles to where they landed.
We will be thinking of you all, & will have "an occasional" toast to you all!! Mo & Bill will be here tomorrow night, on to Whitefish the next day. Steve & family going tomorrow.
Raelee, if you read this, thank you SO much for finally writing. I will answer early in the New year. It was so good to hear from you, & to know all is well.
MERRY CHRISTMAS. HAPPY NEW YEAR. Love Kell

Merry Christmas

Good afternoon all. I am really sorry to be so late, but have been so busy and so tired, this is really my first chance!! SO.......MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL.
I did not get any cards written, even to family not on the blog. Sorry. May get to phone early in the new year. I am rushing now, to get away this afternoon. We are being promised a Colorado low....means LOTS of snow...so I would like to get on the road. If we went as far as Brandon it would help, and cut two hours off our drive to morrow. I talked to Kell this am, apart from Peter having a fainting spell this am (not unusual, but scary anyway) all is well. She will leave for Montana to morrow if Peter is OK. We hope to get there on Sunday afternoon, but depends on the roads and snow fall. I did my 38th and I hope final hamper this am, so just have ourselves to worry about now. Will pack, see how Bill is doing ...he is down trying to get the top layer of dirt off the car. We went to the city yesterday to drop off excess toys from my Cheer, and it was slushy so the car is filthy. Must go. Will talk to some of you later , hope you all have a wonderful and restful Christmas. We are so looking forward to being with Lyn and the girls. Love to all. I am going to call John, just see how he made out with his second last treatment.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! Love mona

Last hoorahh before xmas

Well so much for the mild weather. We've had two or three really humid and sweaty days. Can't turn the a/c on as it keeps tripping the circuit breaker. Think it has something to do with all that rain. Angelina and I getting about in undies. Hokey doesn't want to strip down. Gizmo has "kennel cough" which he contracted when he was incarcerated at the animal hospital. It's only just starting up and chances of getting vetinary services now are zilch!

Had Hokeys playgroup xmas party this morning. They had a petting zoo there for the kids. It was bedlem and we left early anyway because my cleaning lady was comming at 11.

Still plenty to do before christmas but I don't know exactly 'what'.

Too hot to sit here. Ciao everyone and have a good one :o)

The Recipe for Marj's Macca Slice!

For Aunty Kell,
just got off the phone to Mum. recipe as follows- Mum says she sometimes puts a few more macadamia nuts in the recipe! mum always makes double the recipe, hence the recipe is doubled! (That statement sounded silly, sorry!)
2 cups macadamia nuts
2 cups brown sugar
2 cups self raising flour
2 eggs, beaten.
put sugar and butter in a large saucepan, stir constantly until caramalised. turn off heat. Add macadamia nuts, stand 5 minutes until slightly cooled. Grease slice pan (2 sheets of baking paper is best). Add flour to pan and stir, then add beaten eggs, mix well. Pour into slice pan, pat down flat with hand. Bake in moderate oven about 1/2 hour or until cooked.
remember that you have it in the oven and do not burn the bottom as Marj sometimes likes to do!!!!!!!!!!!!! don;t tell her I said that!
Happy baking! It certainly is'to die for'. Mum always makes it for meetings and gatherings, and then Dad complained that she never makes the slice just for him! She felt guilty last week and made a whole slice just for him! Dad was a happy camper!
better get back to domestics,
love Lisa

December 18, 2007

hey everybody

I did not recieve any email from you and even if i did! i am no help as i don't know anything about the recipe and don't know why i was even mentioned ???...but if i did want to get the recipe ..i would have Tried ringing "marg" herself" that way you will get it !! sorry to be so short!! but i just want to clear things up!!

Margs' macadamia slice receipe.

Someone, ANYONE, PLEASE ring Jane, & ask her for Marjs' Macadamia slice receipe A.S.A.P. I NEED it NOW. I want to impress
EVERYONE with my tremendous culinary talents, but can't do it without the "special" receipe of Margs'. It is truely "to die for".
I did ask Bernice a week or so ago, but perhaps you didn't get my mail yet Bernice? Anyway, I am sort of, out of time!! Have the nuts, but no receipe!! No snow, & a "reasonable" forecast for the coming week, which means Christmas will be tolerable, weather wise. There IS snow on the mountains for the Jessup girls, so no worries there. I will not be sendind Christmas cards this year. (Surprise, surprise!!) So this will be a "Merry Christmas" wish for everyone. I do hope to ring everyone, but the time
difference does play a major part. Lots of things to do, & no time for them all.
We went to Calgary on Sat., to see Elisa, (Charlottes' youngest) Christmas concert with the Calgary Symphoney Orchestra
Junior choir. It was a wonderful performance, with every age group performing. Elisa was in the 6 to 8 yr. category. Was a 3 hour event, & well worth the drive up. Also, in the am at their church, Michaila was playing violin, & also drums, in various presentations. Elisa was in a little Christmas pagent. All very enjoyable, & any grandparent reading this will know how much I enjoyed it all!!
PLEASE get Jane to send the receipe e-mail, & have a happy, Blessed Christmas everyone. (I do have a FEW decorations up, but am not as talented as Lin, so can't "post" any of it to you!!) I love you all. Have a wonderful time with family & friends. Love Kell

Grafton Season Greetings

Hello and Merry Christmas to all.
Just a quick note before work. Wish that Brisbane lot would get on the blog, it is all happening up there! On Sunday Stewart had the Bob Payton family over for Chrissy bbq. Stewart eats at Paula's about once a fortnight, so he wanted to repay her. Mum and Dad are in Brisbane visiting, so they all cought up. Stewart said it was a great time.
Tonight in Brisbane, Anthea graduates from uni as a Science Teacher (hence, Mum and Dad in Brisbane). Will be a big night there. In Murwillumbah, Grace "graduates' from Primary School! Sebastian and Asha will hold the fort there while the rest are in Brisbane with Anthea. AM sure all will go well.
Ronny and I are taking Aunty Wyn out for lunch today, so will send your love to her. She is having more bad days than good of late, but lets hope today is a good day for her. She said that Michelle is taking her to Ipswich to her grand daughter's place for Christmas day! Just the one day, up and back ( over 3 hours each way). Let's hope it all goes well!
Ronny and I only have 4 days left before holidays, so it is all very exciting.
Still working on sending Chrissy cards out - have not got there yet!
Love to all. If I do not get on again before Christmas, may it be a merry one for all.
love,
Lisa and Ronny

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

Hello Family, I'd just like to wish you all a lovely christmas and hope it is a safe one for everyone. Aunty Kell, please put up some photo's of the countryside over there, and you too Aunt Mona, all seasons (I can only watch so many documentaries)!

It was our minister's last day at our church today. He was only there as an interim pastor but he is so filled with passion and life that we are all sorry to see he and his wife move on. A luncheon was organised and a huge congregation showed up to say "farewell" and it was a lovely day. He has accepted a permanant role over in Chatswood which is a lot closer to where he lives also.

I'd best move on as I'm not in a writing frame of mind. Good night,

Sara xxx

December 13, 2007

Just a quickie

Ok, I'm alone again. I guess it is a busy time of the year. I haven't actually "enjoyed" christmas since I was about 14yrs old but now that all the family are relatively nearby I'm hoping we can make more of a go of it this year. We'll go back up to Gregs, probably next week some time I guess. I have bought a new scooter for Giancarlo and a little "scuttle bug" for Angelina, a subscription of "Diabetic Life" for Tony (I'm sure he'll be impressed)! Meg and Hokey put her tree up at Gregs place last weekend and strung lights up all over his house, looks very pretty too. She has a small string of "dragon fly" lights also, courtesy of Aunt Mo' I think. I have to get a power adapter for her to use that one though.

Hokey and Ange were just blue'ing in the loungeroom but whatever they were fighting over seems to be resolved now.

I took a bit of a turn at Gregs last Friday night. Went to my doctor today and have a referal to see the neurologist next week. I've been on another planet all week so hope he can do some scans when I go to see him!

Our dogs went missing on Monday night but the days have all blended into one long day so I only fully realised last night (wednesday) that they were missing. Phoned the council with their chip numbers but no word yet. Tony thinks they're still around here somewhere. I reckon they got onto someones cat on Monday night and were caught and disposed of in Tuesday mornings garbage. I'll put some notices up, even if someone could let me know if they are alive or not so I can stop worrying about them. The little one stayed home though, I bathed her this afternoon and Tony says she can stay inside now. Hmmm, we'll see about that.

Meg and Mum were here on Tuesday. Meg came down in case she had to go into the solicitors to sign anything but didn't have to so they went back up after three hours here. Mum whizzed through and folded all my washing, hung out whatever was in the machine and put the rest away. She's brilliant.

Hokey has his school concert tomorrow. Last day of pre-school. I will miss it because the cleaning lady will be here but I will send Tony to see him with the video camera. Crikey, Big School next year!

I think Marcus flew out to New Zealand today. I hope he has a good time over there with Jacob and his father and Meagan.

It's getting late and the place is a mess so I'd better go start trying to organise things and get the kids fed and bathed so I can bed early too. Hope everyone is well. Have Lyn and the girls left for Canada yet? How lovely it must be for them. At least if this gorgeous cool weather keeps up then we'll have a very fresh christmas.

Oh, and the doctor has changed one of Tony's insulins and he has been a lot better this week. Just as well, can't have both of us being spaced out at the same time.

Ciao, love Sara XXXXX

December 10, 2007

Hello from Rosielands

Ciao all, it's Monday, oh, afternoon. I'm in a bit of a daze!

We went to spend a couple of days up at Gregs. Went up on Thursday and back Sunday. He has a lovely little house there and only a couple of blocks from the beaches. Just beautiful. Greg took Hokey and I down to the beach for a 'swim' such as it was. I went out to 'thigh' deep while Greg and Hokey took the dogs up the beach. I told him to look round periodically to check if I were still above water. It was a very hot day that day so I thought I'd get my head wet too. I flopped down in the water and it was beautiful and cool. I then tried to get up and do you think I could? Well the wind was pushing me in one direction and the tide was pulling me the other way and I couldn't for the life of me stand up so I lay on my back and kept catching the waves in until Greg was picking me up, asking if I was "taking the turtle approach" to get back on the beach. It was working so why not ay? Back at Gregs place Hokey told Meg "mummy sank"! Greg cooked a bbq that evening, meat kindly supplied by Garys butcher shop. While he was cooking a young galah flew down and settled on Gregs head. He puts seed out the front in a feeder for the birds.

Meg has arranged a storage shed for mum to move her gear into so she can move up there asap. Meg is going to Crookwell soon I think to help mum arrange that. She is so good, with all the rubbish she's going through herself with Luke but she finds the time to go about and help organise others. I think the area up there is perfect for Meg and Greg. It seems so tropical and is very laid back. Mum will fit in. Mum will be fine while Greg's at work he stays in Singleton so those days mum has the house to herself. She'll love it.

I'll put up some pic's.
Love Sara xxxxx

"PALSO"

"Palso" is Alex, her dads' "special" name for her!!! Sorry for any confusion!! Kell

December 05, 2007

Hey there

Hi all and pardon my ignorance but i thought this was a family blog and i don't know "who is palso? please...thanks love bernice

Palso

Palso, if you read the Payton blog, get busy & post another Markus update! We want to know what BIG gift you got us for Christmas?? Love G'ma

Quickie

G'day all.
This is mainly for Sara.
You see, when I was with Tom our "stony silences" were a bit of a joke. Likewise, all other times we "rested our voices"!!!. Can you imagine 2 Paytons, being together, & SITTING IN SILENCE!!!??? In fact, we yakked till after 11.00pm each night, & still were'nt finished when I left at 6.00am on the train!!
This for everyone. I checked out Johns' diagnoses, "Adenocarcinoma", as did Cook, & just as I thought, it is bad news. I rang John. However, he would not listen, telling me he had just recweived VERY GOOD NEWS from his Dr. Namely: that "WE have beaten it!!" The cancer has been beaten!" Try as I might, I could not convince him otherwise. I asked him how they could know, when his treatments were still ongoing?? Mo was going to ring him too. The Dr. I see specialises in Colon cancer, & said yes, the medication is VERY important, as it is a main part of the cure. If anyone can convince Johnno to take it as directed, ( he says he only takes it when he needs it, which isn't very often,) that would be a great advantage for him. I feel sick for him, knowing
what he might be doing to his chances of a full recovery.
Jessups, I DO hope you are nearly packed & ready, as it is fast getting time to leave?? We have a "very snowy", "very cold" winter forecast. I'm sure heavy coats will not be a problem, but pants may not fit the tall, slender bodies!! It is getting very exciting. All I need now is a bit of time to do Christmas cards, but not for a few more days I'm afraid. Still busy here, & I'm sure Mo is up to her neck with "Christmas Cheer."!!!! I have no idea how many hampers she has to do this year, but I know it will be a LOT!! She
gets literally thousands of $$$ worth of stuff. Has to box it all, name it all, & get it all delivered. A MAJOR task, & VERY time consuming. I think she said she is looking for someone else to take over. (HA! HA! HA!!! GOOD LUCK MO!!!)
Anyway, gotta go. Lots to do, & meeting at 7.00pm. Lab. tests in the morn, new tyres for the car after that. Then "books" for
the vestry meeting tomorrow night. Takes me forever to do the Financial statments, as I am no book keeper or accountant.
Love to all. You young'ns get busy!! Kell

December 02, 2007

Hi from bernice

Hi all been awhile, have been a bit down,.. enough with my dog 'kellie going blind ..altho she has picked up a lot lately which is good, as in getting around. she will never get back her sight. but worse still our big Pup had to go i decided to try and find him another home where he could run run and run.. so rang the r.s.p.c.a they said no worries but they ended up "putting him down' its a long story and very painful so don;t want to get into it , but he is gone now, and we miss him so much even tho we knew he couldn't stay here, it all turned out wrong.

kell ..it was a great informative letter from you. great reading, so glad you had a great time, it was lovely to see you and have you here.

Belinda...lucky you off to canada "Do you or the girls ski...sounds like you will learn with the Markus family....so...ooo not going to Bourke now with Peter on the road?????? ha, have a great time over ther anyway, How was your mum and dan?
i dont understand Why the markus family doing ther own blog? why not on the payton's?? Anyway its all too confusing to me its enough with our blog and flickr' without another site!!! Man ..Just this year ken has bought me a new mobile phone, a G.p.S tom tom, a new camera, a new printer, dvd player . and goodness knows what else but the point is ...I know very little about all of them as the technology of them and i just havent had the time to learn about one thing and then theres something new to learn.....my brain has gone on holidays since i gave up work and became just a domestic goddess.

Sara, Tom seems to be holding out ok up at gregs aye , lets hope she likes it enough and moves. I was talking to meg last sat. your last email i couldn't open movie video or something, your photos of hokey and John in bourke are great I have been meaning to say..mikala was down here at jamberoo fun park on a school excursion the other week i went out for lunch with her she's grown up i took my new camera (which i didn't know how to use) nd ended up getting a couple of shots off. there ok.

Hey Jacob, was great to hear from you again..little bro will be over soon..that will be good for you hope you have a good time.

Was great to hear from the tully girls again too.

Lisa ..about time you showed yourself too... hey you just might beat me to the xmas cards this year as i haven't even started !!! I am so far behind this year!! i don't know why? itsjust crept up on me!1 so i decorated my xmas room and have just put the xmas tree up pretty lights and all and am trying to get into the christmas spirit before i write my letters and cards out. My Mum is still coming down and i am so looking forward to it so i will have to shape up, say hi to ron,
I will finish up now,i really shouldn't have started to write as i am so tired tonight,we have been out shopping and its bedlam and then i washed kellie and then we had to wash and bottle the homebrew among other things and I'm beat!! so sorry if i have forgotten anyone or anything and i will re read tomorrow and write as soon as i can so for now good afternoon , good night , and good morning to you all.. bye for now love bernice xxx

Grafton Greetings

Hello All,
has been a while since I was last on - have not been home much lately! Ronny and I took long service leave last week and rented a place right on the beach at Wooli. It is a little beach town near here, but when you go there, it is like going back to the 1970's. It was awesome. The Wooli river ends there too, so we have both beach and river. we took the boat and had lots of fun. Learnt to catch worms on the beach, and Ronny caught plenty of whiting to eat. Stewart joined us last weekend for a few days too. Easy to face work tomorrow knowing that the summer holidays are not far off!
The week before last week - at school - was my big performance night. Big production, all of my Drama students performed, a huge success, but a hell of a lot of stress before hand! No worries, all over now. Only have one more performance to go. In the last week of school I am getting a group of junior students together and we are going to the nursing homes around Grafton for a bit of Christmas cheer. Am trying to get the words to the Australian Jingle Bells - about the rusty holden ute? I think it was Ian McNamarra? If anyone knows of it - or has the words, please send, am sure my students can butcher it!
Sara, the drumming sounds great. what type of drum? Djembe? That is mine.
Bernice, so sorry to read the pooch. how is she doing?
Aunty Kell, was awfully quiet when you left! we miss you! Loved your visit - reading about it sounded quite exhausting! You needed to go home to have a rest!
All of my family are doing well, mum and dad included. I do get worried when mum says that dad had a nap in the afternoon, something he has never done, but I figured at 81, he deserves a nap in the afternoon! don't we all?
Belinda, have a great time in Canada this Christmas- not that you need encouragement! great news.
Sara, can you tell aunty Tom that the letter she sent to Aunty Kell addressed to Grafton, arrived about 4 days after she left here, and the day before she flew home. I will sent in on to Aunty Kell, try to get to P.O. this week.
Hope all is well at the start of the festive season and the start of summer! Every year I think, I am going to send a Christmas card to Bernice before she gets in first, but she always wins!!
cheers, have a great week.
love Lisa and Ronny

Top o' the Mornin' to yee all

Oh shoot, I'm supposed to speak Itai' now! It's 0703hrs and all has gone suspiciously quiet in the loungeroom. No point investigating because if there's trouble it'll still be there in an hour, IF I get the luxury of an hours peace on the pc!

Aunty Kell, I don't know about "saving your voices". Mum says you had a great talk, but then I guess 5 minutes vocalisation at any time is a conversation to mum. You have to poke her with a stick to get a noise out of her (and I used to tell Mark the same when he'd remark of some event "mum never told me that"!) She thouroughly enjoyed your visit though. Mum is still up at Gregs at the moment. Greg is at a Cornerstone reunion in Dubbo so Aunty Kell, she IS cleaning "thouroughly while he is out of the way". Well, she IS a work horse and the only new trick she's learnt is how to call out and receive calls from a mobile phone. She does alright for an old girl though but I was thinking 'she can't be 79yrs old this year' unless poor old Nan did have them literally one after the other. Wouldn't be the first time Births, Deaths and Marriages have issued incorrect certificates though!

I have my needle nose pliers out to fix my paper shredder. The little sensor button has snapped off inside so I have cut a piece of plastic from one of Hokeys broken tracks and will glue it onto the stub of the sensor. Bugger! The needle nose's are too big. I'll have to go to the cheapie shop and get some needle nose tweezers!

Looks like I've lost my internet connection so I'll have to copy & paste this to notepad then reconnect. 'Bugger' again!

Ok, I'll just type in here and reconnect later.

Tony finally brought MY compressor in from HIS van so I can now quickly blow the mess, bird seed etc from the back patio and pump up any tyres that come through the house without having to go to the shed or use a broom to sweep.

The 'silence' in the lounge has long since ceased so I'd best go an feed the small ones then ready ourselves for church.

Great to hear your trip was so nice Aunty Kell, little Grayson sounds like a treat. I DID feel mine get out this morning but did not feel him get in. I actually slept through for once. Oh dear, I hear christmas dec'ies bouncing off the walls in the lounge, now there's banging, must go,

Ciao and love to all,

Old routine again!

Dear, dear family,
All too soon, it was over! But, boy, was it GREAT while it lasted!! Arrived in Sydney 21st. Spent day with Sara, children & Tom.
Sara braved the traffic at 3.00pm, took me to Strathfield, train to Broadmedows, met by Toni Lee & Lauren. To Mrs. Junes, spent 2 days, sitting in stony silence as usual!! To Tonis' on Friday, fantastic "Aussie B. B. Q.," curtsey Of Matt. All the Fam there, & Markus. Meg took us around the next day, showed us all the sights, her place, beaches, Gregs' place, butchers, etc. Then Meg took Mrs. June & I to Kiama. Saw the laverty girls, the two beautiful babies, (VERY cute, like their G'ma). To Ken & Bernice for 3 nights, shopping, more hours of stony silences, (as is usual for us!!!) Meg took me to Syd., & Sara once again braved the pouring rain, peak hour traffic, & dropped me off at the front door of the Masonic Club. Dinner with friends at the Swiss hotel, (Apparently Kate & Fam had stayed there!) Excellant meal, 10 of us, organised by Sari Goldberg. Sat. morn. we gathered, & sat silently around the tables ALL day. FABULOUS!!! Drinkies, (Water!) & food all the time. That night all met for dinner, & more sitting still for MANY hours. Sunday morn., final breakfast, then friend Marg from Kanahooka took me, & another Marg (from England, husband Peter,) to her daughters' at Picton, for another fabulous Aussie B. B. Q. in our honour!! The hostess, Lin,
husband Phillip, Lins' sister Susan, husband Roger, their 2 children, & Lins' & Phillips 3 children + one boyfriend were all there
to greet us. Was a lovely get-to-gether, & Lin Jessup joined us at 3ish. She joined in the B.B.Q., but refused refreshments. (Or MOST of the refreshments!!) On to Canberra. A wonderful relaxing time, with Matha (Hannah) Steward serving us gourmet meals! Out to dine at a fine Italian rest., friends of Lins. Excellant Italian food. Kate & Doug would be jealous!! Took lots of photos of trees etc. Many trips around the city, some shopping, & the exciting time, watching Hannah & Lauren, with 2 young friends, getting dressed for Hallow'een. They put the Canadians to shame!! They all looked beautiful, & I think, had a fabulous time, as I hardly saw them the next day!! Off to Crookwell to see Topm. We saved our voices for another time, for 3 days. Then overnight in Goldburn, caught the 6.00am train to Sydney,2 hour wait, then onto Lithgow. 3 hour wait for the bus to Dubbo. Was met by Rita (came up with husband Ben, from Cobram, Vic.) at the bus. On to the Voyager Motel, (because of its facilities for handicap folk.) Ben has had serious problems with his legs, ever since he got an infection in Broome last year.
They took me out to dinner at The Hogs Breath. Well, forget the name, the food was FABULOUS. And the wine too!!
Champagne in their room that night. Next night dinner at Dubbo West Bowling Club. Once again, the food was great. This was to be my shout, as so far, Ben had foot the bill for EVERY meal. When we arrived, there was champagne on the table!! I thought they must have seated us at the wrong table, but Ben proceeded to open the bottle. O. K., I must have ordered champagne!! Nope, a toast to me, for my b'day the next day!! When I went to pay, it was done already!
They are SUPPOSED to come over here, so I can re-pay. Time will tell, as Ben can't sit too long at the moment. It was indeed a great b'day celebration. Margaret (Fraser) Jackson, Eve Jackson, & Murial (Fraser) ?? took me around the next day, till Johnno
arrived. They dropped me off at the hostel when John rang. We just yakked till tea time, went to a bowling club for tea, back to the hostel. Yakked till 11.00pm. Shower & bed. Johnno had breakfast all planned. Yakked for a while, then drove around to see the sights. Lunch back at the hostel. John took me to the bus, & left for Maitland. Cec, Ray & Junie met me in Maitland. Had tea at Junes', then home to Taree, raining ALL the way, mostly very heavy rain. Had a good visit with them, then off to Grafton. Cec & Ray off to Sydney for Oskars' Baptism. Wendy May met me at Grafton, took me to Maclean. More sitting quietly!! Off to Grafton next day with Len. Ronnie was home, but I didn't know that till I'd been there about an hour!!
Steve & Marj arrived. Marj had a meeing there. We had a visit with Win. I found her considerably worse since the reunion.
Steve is thin, but looks great, & says he will be here for a reunion in 10 years. Ronnie & Lisa are just awesome hosts. No one
I visited would let me raise a hand, & they were no exception!! Gourmet meals every day, mostly out on the verandah. Very pleasant. Jane arrived on 17, took me to Murwillumbar (???), then Danny & Cook picked me up, & took me to Springbrook. Still resting our voices, incase sometime, we might want to talk to someone.!! What an incredible place they have there.
The "creek", waterfalls, parks, views, walks, birds, flowers, trees. On & on!! Had a lovely time, I took many beautiful photos, all of which I lost as I was leaving!! Was lovely there, warm, green. They have the greenhouses so full, I don't know how they
keep track. Stew came & took me to Janes again. Now, there is a house!! I did get a few pictures, but my connections are in Whitefish, so havn't seen them yet. The three youngest were home, & what delightful children, & young man. Seb is a parents' dream!! Bridie & Grace such delightful young ladies. Certainly a credit to their parents, as were all the children I met over the month I was home. I think we can ALL be proud of our offspring!!. I havn't had a chance to set up a cricket team yet Seb., but will do that in the new year!! Off to Brisbane, after Jane drove many miles to the station.A lovely drive, but she had to get home again!! The train trip was great. Everything so very green. Clean. Lovely trees, many still blooming. Such beautiful country.
Monday we went to Stews' main employer, & saw the awesome job he has done with the HUGH yard, & yet it is a work in progress, as he still has big plans for it. Stew dropped me off at Paulas, where we were able to rest our voices again. (Bob might dispute that!!) Paula & Rowan have two very pretty, VERY well-behaved children. A real credit to them both. We had
lunch, looked over the "school bus!" ( "Cool, Man! Cool!!) Bob & Trish have done a fantastic job with it, 100% self sufficient.
Rowan was home in time to get to know him a bit. Very intellegent, VERY into "hitech". Seems to love his work. Stew joined us for dinner, then back to Brisbane. Tuesday, Stew showed me the way to the city, & I got Licorice, Tim Tams, Milo & some
more important stuff, then headed home to pack, & re-pack till I fitted everything in. ONLY cost $144.00 in extra weight!!!
Would have been a LOT more, if I didn't have a connecting overseas flight!! By now, I'm all packed, & ready to go out to dinner with Stew & Asha. Stew chose a Turkish Restuarant, & I think I can say, we ALL thoroughly enjoyed it. Home to Stews', a night cap, & off to bed.Airport next am. A very sad time for me. Steve picked me up, spent the night with the Dedas. Grayson had his bed ready for me. However, he didn't hear me go to bed, & I didn't hear, (or feel), him get up! Just caught him before he left with Steve for school. A bit of time with Jo, Talyn & Payton, then it was time to "head home". Peter, Alex & Dan were in the house when I arrived. Peter was happy to see me, & has followed me around ever since!! It was great seeing Dan & Alex. They had to go & see Dougs' mum, so couldn't stay long. END OF SAGA!! (??) Will keep it short next time.

Mmmmm Caaake

Oh wow, THREE birthday cakes. I can't fit into my jeans and I don't think it's my snacking, although I tell mum it is but I'm afraid Lisa it may be the alcohol :o( . I know Bernice, a couple of glasses and I'm gone but I have only two max' at home but that's all I can put it down to. I'm not pregnant, that would be a miracle! We are supposed to be doing a cleanup this w/e so I hope to get access to my elipticle machine on the patio and start up the 'jogging' again, such as it is.

I envy the Jessups going over the other side for xmas while our only christmas chimes will be the blow flies buzzing around the kitchen and windows. We are going to Gregs for a few days so that'll be nice.

I packed all, well most of my skinny jeans away today and will continue to slowly pack in the event we move to larger premises. As for my wayward children, I forget if I mentioned in my last post but Giancarlo bowled over a 91yr old lady at church last week, fair dinkum her legs were like skittles up in the air. Just as he did that Angelina pulled my cup of tea down over herself, it had cooled enough not to burn, Praise the Lord because I drink my tea scalding hot. As I fumbled her into the pram my typical twisted humour set in and I had to fight back laughter of this poor old dear "boorie leg up" on the floor. I rushed home in tears. He certainly IS spirited!

I have a Bunnings BBQ fundraiser for playgroup tomorrow and then Lisa I go for my first drum lesson. The fellow has a system for 1 handed players!

Tony's BSL 2.7 at lunch, AFTER eating an orange. He stresses me, I don't know which one of us will die first! His cousins husband died last week, only 39yrs old. Autopsy yesterday and funeral sometime this week. Tony will go, hope it'll be a wake-up call to him.

Gotta go, two pin bowling again in the morn' and it's already midnight!

Ciao, Sara xxxxx

The Jessups are coming!!

Morning all. The Jessups are coming! For Christmas! WOW!!! What do I want? VEGEMITE!!!
My needs are few, but vege is a must! After I got the word Lyn, I got my giddyups on and started to get organized! (I usually wait till about 22 of Dec. for that!) Bill put our outside lights up last night, early, but I have been nagging (Yes, me nag. Seems odd, doesn't it?) He usually waits till the coldest, windiest snowiest night, but last night was not bad. I wont let him go up on the roof without me being close by, (the roof is high) so I backed the car out into the drive way and sat in it to watch. Kept me warm, and I was able to run and fetch for him. I have a cleaning lady coming to vac for me to day...back wont let me do it now.....then we will get a bit of holly and or a Santa up downstairs. Best go. It is now after 7 and I need to be up and at it. Shop this am, Chamber meeting 12 noon, make jelly for our sick and shut-ins at 1-30, get ready for friends to come for supper. (Another computer lesson for me before supper!)
Kelly will be home to day. I had a wee glass....OK, OK, a BIG glass of wine for her last night. I know she is feeling down, and wine always helps me !! Will likely talk to her to morrow.
Talked to Cec and John last week. Both well. John still up beat. Only 3 treatments to go.
Will get back on as soon as I can. Love to all. Mona

Ciao

Howdy all, wassup? Same old same old here. Playgroup this morning and yesterday. Yesterday it was at Roselands pool. We met at the toddlers pool, an ankle deep 'pool' about 20'x40'. It was a good day for it too. Hokey loved it, splashing and squirting everyone. Angelina freaked, she's decided she doesn't like water lately. Hope it passes because I plan to have her swimming soon.

Sunday we went off to church before Greg and mum left for Gregs place. I haven't been for a few weeks and really needed to have a spiritual hit. I was going to leave Hokey at home because Marcus was still here with Greg but he insisted on coming to church so I said "Ok, hurry up and get dressed" which he did. The service was lovely as usual and I wasn't going to but did stay for a cuppa afterwards. I was sitting at the table with all the old girls who I hang out with at church and was chatting with a lady who I hadn't yet met as another church's congregation had joined ours due to friction within their own original church. Anyway, Eilene was her name and another lady spoke to her and she stood up to reply and turned to go get herself a cuppa when Giancarlo came tearing through the hall. I saw it all before it happened and yelled to stop the lady and also to try to halt Hokey but it was too late. It was all in slow motion but happened so quick, he bowled her over, all I saw was legs like 'skittles' it the air, seriously, he litterally bowled her over. She was boorie leg up. Luckilly she was fit and spritely and didn't break her HIP, just a little nick on her arm. As I and everyone else was tending to her Angelina pulled my cup of tea down onto herself. She was screaming, I was crying and Hokey was off running around outside again. Another lady took Ango to the bathroom and in the sink under running water, by that time it was the cold water that was freaking her out. My tea had lost it's scalding edge so I knew she was ok, and she was.

Bernice, Meg said to "Keep an eye out for the tiger"... ??? I hope you understand, I haven't a clue.

It's so humid here. Supposed to storm and I've taken the top off my worms in anticipation of the rain coming. They need a good soak through.

Lovely Belinda, it will be lovely to go over to the Canadians for christmas. I'll thank Bill when he sends my ticket ;oP

I have to go, it's 8pm and Hokey still hasn't bathed so I will go get him in. Take care and love to all,

Lemon Tree reporting

Well hello all, I'm still here and thinking of you all and not keeping in touch as I should. But I will endeavour to rectify that problem in the near future.Like everyone my life is rather hectic and stressful at this point in time.I have been hitting the paperwork like a demon trying to get organised for court this Wednesday and I am running out of time.
I've had to itemise all my bank records from 1998 till now as proof of finances I've contributed to the marriage. Well I've only just managed to get through one account and what a headache that was 2 more to go and a credit card as well. I wont make it with 48 hours left. I also have to marry up what reciepts I have with bank withdrawals as further proof. Print off photos I have to discredit Luke's character which wont be hard to do.Anyway I wont go on with details just to say I have a hell of a long way to go and no time to spare.
We have had one offer on the house and accepted it. However the people are also looking at another property on the coast and have not made their minds up yet. So pray for me that they will see the beauty of Crookwell and move there.
Lemon Tree had a bit of an arts and crafts festival on here this weekend. I didnt see any of it due to paperwork but there were a few people around. There was the blessing of the fleet yesterday, I heard a lot of boats going past in the morning but didnt walk down to the waterfront to watch the event. At least they had nice weather for it.
Marcus is well, he goes over to Toni's on his push bike a couple of times a week.He and Jake go off to the bike track and do what boys do there. He has settled in well here and likes his school. He got 39/40 for an assignment (I helped of course) so I was very proud of myself!!!!!!
Jacob has his final exam for unitech this Wednesday, goodluck mate I hope it goes well. Marcus heads off to New Zealand on 13/12 until the 10/1. He didn't want to be away for that long because he had arranged to have his Crookwell mates come and stay here for a week and he go back there for a week. Brett being Brett did as he saw fit. Marcus has a job interview this afternoon at video ezy where Lauren works, Jason at the new fish&chip shop come grocery store down on the waterfront said he will give him a job in the holidays as well.Marcus none too happy with having to go to NZ at all now.
Garry is doing well in the butchershop, business has really picked up and with Christmas looming he has so many pork legs to get cured for hams or smoked or what ever they do.He had to buy another freezer 2 weeks ago to hold all the pork legs. And now that the weather has warmed up there are a lot more barby's happening which means more meat. He has his father there everyday helping out and even though I was very put out with that arrangement I must say now I am grateful that I am not there because Iwouldn't have got as far as I have with my paperwork. He spent the whole day in the shop working yesterday and was rather tired when he got home from work. Then he cooked tea while I was at the books still. On Saturday night he had his daughters formal so I missed out on a birthday as such.We did go out for lunch when he finished work and he gave me a beautiful heart locket. We plan to do something nice this coming weekend, weather permitting.I was feeling a bit sad and lonely myself on Sat night so headed off to Coles and got a cake, a few nectarines a mango and strawberries. Laid a blanket out on the floor and lit a couple of candles. I had me a little party with the birds. Benny the peachface, Gregory the baby galah and rooster the indian ring neck.I watched a video and then went to bed.Another year older, but none the b****dy wiser.
Mum is over at Gregs, he will leave for work today at about 10am to get over there and have a sleep before night shift. I will go over after lunch and take mum to the skin cancer clinic to have that keratosis burnt off her nose. She picks at it all the time.
Had a good chat to Peter Tully last night. It was good to hear from you Peter.
My cup is dry so I had better head upstairs for a refill, Marcus has just left for school and its time I said cheerio and get back into the book work.
Love to all
Meg
PS Aunt Mona you said to me once to keep all my receipts, a good piece of advice thank you.I will pay off for me now I pray.I just have to sort through them all now.XX

November 17, 2007

Good Morning

It's almost 0500hrs. I woke just after 4 to go to the loo and couldn't get back to sleep so made a cuppa and logged on hoping for some new news, none :o(

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIG GIRL, I don't have a card yet but don't think you'd appreciate my usual style so will have to find a more subtle one for you. I still haven't posted Marks or Jetts. Marks is a classic. I'll put it up here after I send the original to him!

Bernice, so rude of me not to think to say it in my last post but I'm so sorry to hear about Kelly. You must be crushed. I had Boo clipped the other day and she's been a happy little house dog for a couple of days but because she will stay hidden in the one spot for 20hrs or so Hokey hasn't realised she's been inside and hasn't had a chance to bug her.

Greg and Marcus arrived about lunchtime yesterday. Marcus came with me to collect Hokey from school at knock-off time and just as we were pulling out Deb' (mate 2 streets across) was walking past our place with two of her children on her way to pickup 2nd youngest from same school as Hokey. I told them to "jump in" and we went to collect the boys then all piled back into the car and went round to Deb's for a couple of hours. Not long after we arrived there the 4th child arrived home on the bus. He's a really cute and funny little kid. The little ones all climbed over Marcus because they all love him and Anastasia took him to her room to play on the computer. I said to Deb' "I think someone has a crush" but she said it was ok, 'Tash does the same with her cousin who is the only boy in a family of 6. Well, the other boy is 15yrs older so the little fella is surrounded by girly thngs and doesn't touch 'Tasha's things but she'll crack up if her own brothers go in her room. I'd left baby at home with Tony, he wasn't going anywhere. He went to the Dr's on Wednesday but had his appointments mixed up and not due to go until Monday. The doctor wouldn't see him despite his being so sick. When I'd booked him in to my doctor for a full checkup the doctor didn't do any blood tests or anything despite Tony rushing to the bathroom to be sick while he was there. Mind you Tony doesn't communicate and seems to think people have some kind of ability to look inside a persons body, read their mind and simply know how they're feeling. I'm being a bit hard on him as I think it's a typically 'male' thing but because his father has prostate cancer and I wanted Tony to have a full workover. Anyway, maybe on Monday when/if he goes to see his own doctor.

Greg and Marcus are going down to mums today. Greg plans to take her back up to his place but I'm not sure she fully understands. He'll have to do some stiff talking with her to make her budge but I'm hoping she will. We'll have to make arrangements for all stuff at Megs place to be moved out.

I have to start packing up here too and am dreading the thought but must get into it asap. I don't like doing anything on a Saturday, the Sabbath but I may have to :o(

6am so I better get moving. Hope everyone is well and happy. Do take care,

Love Sara XXX

Hallelua (4get the spelling)!

Praise the Lord, I was really feeling lonely when everyone was out 'living' while I hung out with myself on here. Still lonely anyway, my best mates, 1 near Morisset and the other in Ireland so not able to just pop in or call up for a chat. Relly, in Morisset is nursing and dog grooming plus running the house of 15yr old, 13yr old (caught kissing g/f @ school!) and 6yr old plus 2 dogs so her hands are full and of course as soon as a parent gets on the phone every other living being in the household decides they need that parents attention there and then, ditto for this household. Jen' who is in Ireland is obviously on a different time line and also doing shift work at the latest hospital she's decided to contract at so I rarely get to speak to her. Deb', my newest mate lives 2 streets across but she has 4 kids, dog, rabbit and husband Chris has many budgies, she also runs a regimented house as best she can so I don't get much time other than playgroup to spend with her.

Tony worked Monday and Tuesday and was sounding very upbeat last night with plans of how he intends to "start over" but I don't get my hopes up anymore and as I already knew before it happened (so predictable now) he spent the day in bed today, sick as a dog. I feel guilty for being annoyed but I just want to scream at him to "GO TO THE F***ING HOSPITAL". It's not like he'd have to wait at all because with his blood glucose levels they'd put him straight into icu. Sorry about the swearing but my emotions are a bit touchy right now. Next time his levels are too high for the monitor to measure I'm calling an ambulance. The stress is killing me.

Meg will be down next week, her solicitor had the court hearing moved to Sydney and hopefully will get the matter settled asap. She's jack of all the paperwork that she has to plough through but we're praying it will pay off. I probably wont see her, she wants me to arrange a room in the city for her as she has to be at Peters office at 8am and will train straight home afterwards.

Greg said he will be here this Friday and probably have Marcus with him. They're going down to mum and Greg has told her to pack some gear so she can go back up to his place with him. I hope she does, she called last night and told me that last Saturday night she wanted to call me but didn't want to alarm me and knew I'd call the hospital if she did. She said she had a horrible feeling in her chest, no not pain "just a feeling" and you can't tell mum otherwise but a horrible feeling that if she went to sleep she might not wake up. Mum never has any fears of dying or anything so for her to confess that she really got me concerned. I ripped into her, in my own way that mum doesn't take offense to but insisted she DOES call me if ever she feels that way again. I told her she could talk me out of calling the ambulance/hospital but at least I'd know to call in the morning to check on her as in her own words she didn't wan't "to be lying there for a week and all maggotty" before anyone found her! I called her back the next morning after she called me to confirm she was still kicking. I just want her to get out and up to Gregs. All the gear in the farm shed could be packed into our container and stored somewhere safe.

Thank you Jacob for logging on, I couldn't talk mate with the kids screaming and Tony not able to tend them. Please keep us posted on your progress. Hokey always talks about the planes going to "Marcus and Gaishobs place"!

Thank you also Jess', I saw the pictures of the hail storm in papers Johnno sent down to me. Haven't looked at them all yet but will read them eventually. I have a letter here to post off to Krystal in Dubbo Hospital. Katrina called and told me of her injuries, she's one very lucky girl for sure. Please put some more pics of the family up. Believe it or not I wouldn't mind moving home!

Oh and Bernice, I saw a name but didn't recognise the face in one of the Bourke papers, "Frances Walshe". Forget who she was with and what the occassion was but there you go!

My leg is dead, I have my foot tucked under my knee so the left leg is completely numb on the bottom and only paralysed numb on top!

It's 10:30 and I have to be up at 7 to take Boo Boo to the dog groomers and put her up for adoption because that mongeral Gizmo keeps chewing at her and making a mess of her coat. She doesn't want to live inside with Hokey chasing her around so I'll try to adopt her out to someone quiet.

Aunt Mona, I just wish I could be there with you. I'd love to see the place and a white winter. Well, the right side of me would, the left side would jack up and keep me next to a fire somewhere. My hip gives me some brutal pain sometimes. Meg has told me to have it x-rayed but it's one of those things I have to schedule while Hoke's is at school and Ango' is in Occassional Care. So only on a Thursday between 10 and 1 but there are so many appointments to keep up to I lose track!

Better go, other 'net' things to do and I NEED to go to bed. Take care and love to all, Sydney is so lonely. Sara XXXXX

Hi,
Sorry its been so long, i've been flat out lately.... thought i'd sit down and have a cuppa and fill you all in on life out here while i'm on my lunch break..

the last 2 weeks we've had some good rain, nothing to really brag about, but anything is good, when your out here. We also had a hail storm which was interesting, not much damage. The river has finally stopped following AGAIN, so now we look forward to the hot dry, restrictive summers we know all too well..

Lissa has just finished her HSC, and waiting results. Kelly still running around growing up fast. Melissa's year12 formal is on the 24th, shall post photos after that. I'm flat out at work, but loving it, still studying vet nursing should be finished by mid next year, then my plans are to move to newcastle, i need to leave home for a while... but bourke will always be home, cant take the country out of the girl.

Mums busy working, dads just got back in to town after a weeks mustering out past louth.

2 weekends ago went to newcastle for the weekend with a mate, had a great time, spent way to much money, but still had a ball.

Started to paint again after a bit of an "artist's block", trying to get up the courage to do an exibition out here, we've got 2 art gallerys now. but i dont think iam good enough.

Happy birthday aunty Meg for the 17th and Lauren too....

not much more to report on.

Hi From bernice 9/11/07 Friday

Hi all, its been awhile, i'm sitting here waiting for tradesmen to come...Why can't they let you know if they will be within 'even two hours' of their arrival time?? I have other things to do. Ah well it gives me a chance to write on the blog i suppose. We are getting the floor stained and polished and the roller door man has to fix a light on the motor, floor man has been, waiting on roller door man!

I'm feeling a little down, my dog Kellie has gone totally "Blind', poor little thing, it all happened so quickly in a matter of weeks!!!, the Vet said its either in her genes and or she has just lost the muscle ..retinal degeneration of her eyes! because it happened so quickly, she is just not coping at all , she seems so scared and quiet and doesn't move much, I suppose her other senses haven't kicked in as quick as they should because of the suddeness of this. It breaks my heart to see her bumping into things and falling and tripping over, plus the other big mutt gives it to her , he's just a pup so probaly doesn't realize, she is only six years old too! Ken says if her life doesn't improve we will think about putting her down, it will break our hearts, but we can't let her live her life the way she is, poor baby.

It was great to see Kell! she looks wonderful too, a little too thin maybe but she can pick up while on hols here, we had a lovely two days with her here , Meg bought her down and stayed too, we went to Kiama and seen June too who also looks well, unfortunately Ken was at work so missed June but we had seen her a few weeks prior so that was ok. Seen Wendy, Len and Terese and bubs also. Other girls at work.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR THE 6TH IF YOU GET TO READ THE BLOG KELL. hope you had a good one. Card waiting at Stewarts for you. Oh! no luck in the lottery tickets but thanks anyway.
We celebrated halloween and my 55 year old birthday!! man I'm getting old! Marcus (meg's boy) and I decorated the front of the house, Gee it looked great! We had skeletons ,ghosts, spiders, bats , 6 tombstones' in the yard, Pumpkins, etc ...and masses and masses of cobwebs!!! everywhere!!! We all dressed, Meg in a blue wig comstume, me in red devil. Sara and the kids arrived and stayed the night which was just great we had a great time and the kids dressed up and had a ball! I had ten kids and ten adults as guests, and about 50 or more kids turned up for trick or treat!! WE video'd and took heaps of photos and again when i learn how to post them on the blog i will put some on and or in flickr.
My friend and i went out for Melbourne cup day, we were going to the races but our weather turned nasty so we went to a club, had a great day but didn't pick the winner.

Mona it was great to hear from you and i was hoping everyone would keep up the blog while kell was here so you could keep up with her travels and the people and places she visits as i know you would be missing her and feeling a little homesick while she is here so I will try and keep you posted as much as i can, i THINK SHE WOULD BE NEARING GETTING TO GRAFTON ABOUT NOW SO lISA MIGHT LIKE TO KEEP YOU POSTED. ( Oh didn't mean to do caps)You sure do a lot of cooking!! Do you like to Cook? I don't, I just cook to feed Ken! i wish he could cook too. Is your house finished now? Happy Anniversary i think its the 31st oct too isn't it, hope you both had a nice night.

Belinda, Hi hows things, good i hope , just writing to say your girls looked cute dressed up for halloween, Kell would have enjoyed it too. So did you crack the "mooculta" was it as good as it sounds. I buy "Cleanskins" from dan murphy's mostly red, great wine, without the fancy labels so its cheaper, but not a cheap tasteing wine. Not that i'm a big wine drinker ..love it but it doesn't like me "Shame.
Wow how close is it to Christmas!!! it has come around so quick! my Mum and a sister are coming down this year, which will be great.

Well I had better get off here as I do have a letter to write and hopefully the tradesman will be here and gone and i can go out and do a few things. "Where's the Egan's??????? and little butcherbird hasn't been on lately...lucky for her she keeps in touch or she would be in trouble but I'm sure everyone else would like to hear from her, also the Tully girls??? I used to love reading their letters about Bourke and what their up too...Come on girls.
Must go, hope everyone is well and happy bye for now love bernice xx

Winter in Pilot Mound.

Yes, hello me!! Dont even think of stopping, Sarie. I so look forward to hearing from you. My day starts a lot earlier than Bill's, and I come and read any new notes to start my day, while the coffee is brewing. And it is good to hear what the littlies are up to...annoying though it may be for you! I phoned and left a message for Kate about the packages. Will try her again to night.
Where are you, Kell? Happy birthday cake!!We will have a drop of the doings tonight on your behalf. No, I'll have two, just in case you cant get any where you are.
I just put 4 lamb shanks in the oven. Didn't have a recipe, went on the net....little they know! so ended up 'developing' my own. Smells good. Got word about 30 mins. ago not to use the water. I do have a fountain for drinking, but need a new bottle, and me with taters or rice to cook and no water. May do rice in juice for a change.
Had a bad tooth on Sunday. Noticed it on our way to a play in Holland (30 min. drive away) and it got progressively worse. Mon. morn phone to my dentist....it was a tooth I cracked when I had that fall at Grafton and he put a band around it....'Come see me'......result, I am now half way through having a root canal done. Go back on 29th to have him finish it. I must say I dont feel so chipper to day. Tried to eat a carrot, raw. NOT a good plan! Hope the shanks are easier on the mouth! Lyn, where did the time go? I remember the first time you brought Hannah to see me. Yesterday I think it was. And now they are all grown up and beautiful. You could never deny Hannah! She is the image of you at that age!
We had our sale yesterday. No, Sunday. Made $4oo-oo...on my puddings and Marmalade. This is our last one. I am the only one able to do the work now, and I was played out this year. 46 qts and 32 pts. pudding and 53 1/2 pts. marmalade. The old back says NO MORE! and Bill is echoing it. Haven't even been walking for a week, too sore! Did walk up town to day, just to get some air. Bill is working out of town to day. No news. We are busy getting ready for the Armistice Dinner and Dance on Sat. night. I make a dessert and cook a ham. We go for the dinner , I usually have to ask the blessing, then we go home. Bill is in the Colour Party for the service on Sunday, I get to read a lesson and do prayers. After the service we go up to the cemetery and put poppies on all the family graves...I leave one for dad on Bill's dad's grave...then we will drive down to La Riviere and put poppies on some Uncles graves.
It has cooled off these last few days. Was -10 this am....but -22 up in Churchill!! We are desperately in need of rain. I am afraid all my plants will winter kill and I will have to replace them in spring. Kelly can come and do the digging, she LIKES it!
OK. I'm rambling. Get busy you youngens and let us hear your news. Love to all. Mona

Hello Me

Hello Me, nice to see I've taken a moment out of my bedtime to talk to myself (as if out aloud isn't bad enough)!

Well, I woke this morning, quite peacefully to an empty bed. I recalled Hokey coming in through the night and Tony getting up to insist he, Hokey, go do a wee before getting into our bed. After much protest he went but I didn't stay awake long enough to see them back into the bed, barely long enough to even contemplate why Tony had taken the initiative to do the toilet duty. It was 7'ish I think when I woke so I slowly allowed myself to come alive before getting up to investigate why it was so quiet. I looked into the kids room on my way to put the billy on and saw the reason for such calm. Tony was sound asleep in bed with Hokey, also sound asleep. I could smell madam and my movement disturbed Tony and he waved his hand across his nose and passed a whooaaa comment. I told him I'd take care of her so he promptly went back to sleep. I made my cuppa, knowing I wouldn't get to enjoy it in peace but made it anyway. I put the cuppa on the dressing table then went to pluck my stinky baby from her cot. That cheeky little grin and giggle just melts me. Seeing I had her half undressed I decided to put her clothes on and picked a pretty little pink trackie out for her. Foolishly I dressed her before feeding her and her pretty pink trackie ended up covered in vegemite! By tat time Hocus Pocus was well awake and was also eating his breakie, a toasted butter sandwhich with tomato sauce. I know, it sounds yuk but that's the "flavour of the month" as far as food goes. I dressed him also. By now I was onto my second reheated cuppa and had made one for Tony also so he had to wake up then! I'd made a comment that we may go out to get Hokey's hair cut which he protested loudly against. I gave in and used a bribe saying "I'll buy you a car if you sit up nicely and don't whinge and let the man cut your hair". Later, after Tony had gone to work, I decided to follow through with the haircut so we went across to Roselands shopping centre and waited at the hairdressers. There was one older gentleman before us as well as the two who were being trimmed when we arrived. I just read the paper and he looked at a 'car' book. A older fellow walked in after us so when we were up next I told him to go ahead, Hokey took it all in without too much fuss. Then it was our turn so I told him to go get his hair cut and to my amazement he climbed up on the chair and let the young fellow wrap the cape around him and didn't fuss at all until he tried to wipe some hair from his nose but ended up with more on there. He got a little stirred up but the young bloke talked him quiet and he settled again. Theeeennnn the hairdresser said he was going to "tickle" him a little bit and started with the clippers. Hokey just about lept out of the seat and hollered "NO Don't tickle me" and pushed the clippers away. Again to my amazement the young hairdresser talked him through it and he sat calmly while he finished up. He wa rewarded with not one but two lollipops for being so good and Hokey said something to me while I was paying. The young bloke was trying to find him an orange coloured lollipop and it sounded like Hokey said "colour". I asked him "what colour"? and he said "CAR. You said you'd get a CAR". Well, I did at that so before leaving we pulled into Woollies and he picked out a car and was quite chuffed how people commented on how good he looked with his hair cut.

Johnno phoned earlier and is hooking up with Aunty Kell tomorrow. He is feeling well but won't be by weeks end :o(

It's now 9:21pm and I've had enough of this computer. I've listed the black car on ebay and now just want to go to bed so I'll sign off the digital diary and hit the sack.

G'night, XXX (kisses are for anyone else who may be reading, not for myself)!

Hello

Tony is out back tidying up the black car so I can take some pictures to put on ebay. He's done a great job but Hocus Pocus is out there driving him mental at the moment "Are you ok Daddy" "Daddydaddy daddy daddy daddy", "Are you washing the car daddy"? He's exhausting to listen to, fair dinkum. Ango was asleep but Hokey put an end to that.

Aunt' Mo', if you're talking to Kate would you please let her know a parcel will be arriving at her place this week for me under my married name. Aunty Kell said she'll sort it out when she gets home. It's a "balance board", 2 different types so probably 2 packages but the associated companies with Amazon won't ship internationally because of warranty issues. They wont even ship to Canada so I phoned Aunty Kell and she said to send to Kates place and she'll be there soon to pickup Uncle Peter and she will sort out I think (hope :o!) .

Baby is crying so I must go. Lyn, the girls looked great, especially Hannah (in the frilly dress?). Well done,

Love Sara...
