VEry Very cold here for Murwillumbah got to 20degrees (that is cold for here) Seb is sitting in front of the heater. Rather ironic as the kids were swimming on Friday.
Back at School it is as though we were never away very busy, I am away Thursday, Friday at meetings. Life goes on full speed ahead.

Very Quick
It is freeeeeeeezing in Canberra. There is snow on the brindebella mountains around Canberra. it's raining and windy.

Hi all Hope all are ok, I find Anzac very very sad, I believe in it and respect it but I think of my dad ( not that he was a "hero He was mostly AWOL.) and war and the unnecessary deaths etc etc...But by the same token I get very proud when I see old diggers..and the photos of The dapper Steve makes you feel sentimental and proud! I can imagine KELL AND MONA VIEWING THE PHOTOS it was nice of you to put them on Jane. While I'm on Jane...cool I haven't done photo's on the blog yet, meg showed me but I forget but i think i have it written down somewhere, so I will try soon......And Margie on the Blog at last! was great! and to think in those very few lines she included me!!! June's party is at Lemon tree passage (which is a suburb) LTP bowling club, and we are all booked into the LTP motel (the only one there) they only have 12 rooms and The Paytons have already booked 5', that's bob,Ken Steve, Stewart, oops 4, Stewart booked for your mum and dad, "flights and all have BEEN ARRANGED . HE'S A ANGEL. we are all booked for the Friday and Saturday nights Talk to Stew, Their ph no is 02 49 823300 but you will have your van and can park it at Greg's or Toni -lees and Nat and Wendy are getting Houses booked for the week end also so there are lots of "Yards for your van. As they have their whole family's coming.

Tom.. typical nurse and doctors (they are the worst patients) Tom"s cut does look clean & ok considering but she should have had a Tetanus shot! and she should know that! Belinda great shots of the "Balloons" i thought they were great(I went hot air ballooning in the northern territory...awesome. Questions?????? where is Moomba where you are going S.A ? and do you think you may make it to June's birthday? Hope so.

My baby My dog is very sick she is off her food(very unlike her) docile, gastro etc etc.. i rang Vet he thinks she has Bowel obstruction, poor baby so he said no food lots of water and paraffin oil so that's what we have done so far she has picked up a little but not much..I will talk to vet again tomorrow.
If she gets better i think i will be going to Dubbo Friday morn for a 18th birthday fancy dress (I am going as Elly May Clampett from the Beverly Hillbilly's) ken is not going. So i will get back on next week unless I have to answer a question, until then stay well and happy everybody...love bernice xx

Grafton greetings 27-4-08
Hello everybody,
Hope all is well, happy and healthy. Our last day before going back to work tomorrow. I do not tend to get on the blog when back at work, but will try to make an effort.
Ronny and I spent 4 days and nights up river camping last week, it was magic. We relaxed, read, played music, swam and kayaked. Weather was awesome too. Have started to get into camp oven cooking. Ronny cooked a great roast in Dad's old camp oven the other night, yum. Will try to put in a picture of the place we camp - Baryulgil. It is private property, so we had the place to ourselves. The photo is of last year - we had a tarp up this time as well, but the place is majestic.
Got back to Grafton just in time to unpack, get dressed and get to hockey. It was a great game - we won too! My team does not play hockey next weekend, so we are planning another camp trip near by. So many neat places to explore around here.
Now gathering steam to get back into work tomorrow!
Anyway, just wanted to say hi to all.
Where is the place where Aunty June's birthday will be held? The "local club" was all I was told, but there are plenty of them! Can someone give me a location please?

GORGEOUS day in Sydney!
Wow, it's such a beautiful day here today. No rain (mum VERY happy!) nice gentle breeze, not cool but that sweet warmish type that we get maybe twice a year and here I am on the computer! We did go out though, went to Milperra to take the kids to mini golf only to find the place has been bulldozed! Hokey very dissapointed. We went to Bunnings to check out potting mix etc but the cheapest was 5 bucks, which I knew would be the case but you can't tell men that! So I will go to Roselands to get it, only 3 bucks over there and some plastic pots from the cheapie shop to repot all of Nonna's plants. Bankstown airport was behind Bunnings so at least Hokey got to watch lots of planes land and take off. Very exciting! For a neat 5yr old anyway.
Checked out a plant at Bunnings which was $50 and it was only a small one about a foot tall. The 6 or so I brought back from Nonna's the other day are 3 to 4 feet tall and well established. Hundreds of dollars for each of them. We dressed up the front yard quite nicely so now the eyes are drawn to the plants rather than the old yellow fibro house, LOL (Laugh Out Loud for the uninitiated!).

I have a digital SLR but never use it b/c (because) it's too heavy to hold one handed and all my shots are fuzzy. That was my first digital camera when I stroked out so it's pretty old. I'm going to give it to Johnno, it's no more technical than a normal slr and all he'd have to do is take the card out and to thwe chemist/news agent and get them to load the photo's so he can pick which ones he wants. My second was a lot smaller and a hell of a lot cheaper, only bout $150, mum has it now. Saved up and got the Panasonic I have now. It's brilliant, has all the do-daaa's I need. You seem to do lots of photography though so the newest fangled cam's would be good for you huh?

Marc wants to buy a flat which Tony will have to help b/c the bloke is too dim-witted to work it out himself. Sorry everyone, I know it's bad mannered of me to say these things on the blog and I'll probably logon later and delete it. Tony says that once Marc's in his own place he'll have to look after himself. Yeah right, lol! I told Tony we will have to move up to the mid-North coast to afford anything. He was talking of buying here until he saw the realestate mag' this morning. I wouldn't mind staying in Sydney but we'd still have a 300K mortgage so hopefully after his course we might move...
I'm going to Roselands to get a memory stick for mum. I'll put a pic of her arm on here, this is after a week's healing and a detol bath so it's nice and clean and dry. Was looking a bit green in patches but she's right now. She's a tough ole' girl.
I'm going on to cable internet. This wireless is rubbish. I keep getting intrusions from other wireless pc's and I'm jack of it. Technician from Telstra should be calling me tomorrow to arrange a time.
Spoke with Mark the other day. He is well and happy. Crikey he amazes me how he manages to do all he does. Flat out at work then off to the library/uni for half the night. Gets home around midnight or later then up at 5 to go again...

Oh I am so excited the photos worked. It took a couple of attempts thank you everyone. the first photo is Dad marching with his new medals we had his medals mounted. the next photo is dad and the bottom one is grandad, Sebastian Brydie and Grace. watch out everyone now I know how to do these photos you will get an overload of them. I will put some more on now of Australia day. So good to hear from everyone. WE have had a couple of busy days gettng read for ANZAC
day. Tommorrow we have another black tie function friends are having their 25th wedding anniversary and I am so excited I love getting dressed up. Sebastian arrived home on wednesday nice and relaxed. I am going to try and get some more photos

Anzac Day in Murwillumbah
Hi every one I am trying to get these photos on thank you Sara Let's hope it works.
We have had a wonderful day our service started with a 10am marshall and the march started at 10.30. Dad marches in Murwillumbah as he likes to march with the children. It was stinking hot 30degrees and typical, all the old diggers were in the sun standing while the schools and the public were in the shade. I was standing in the sun thinking OH! my God why did I have that extra glass of red wine last nigh!!!! i was watching Dad and al the school kids I was marching with the kids.
apart from the heat it was great. we went across the RSL lub and then we all came back home and had a fantastic day. (More red wine) Stewart brought his new boyfriend. Asha was home. I am going to publish this and see if my photos worked. Jane

Dawn Service
With the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.
It was so crowded at dawn service today, there are usually about 10.000 people but this year it was probably double. As every one knows we had the Olympic torch relay in Canberra yesterday and I think a lot of the visitors for that came to dawn service as well. We had our Montana thermals and snow boots on and were very toastie.
I couln't get in to take any photos with the crowd so, I am going to try and get back to day and will take some photos them .

On my way to work today!
Hi All
As I headed of to work this morning I had a bit of fun and went "Balloon Chasing".
Over the next 6 or 8 day we have the balloon festival on in Canberra. I took a few pictures and one extra for the over seas girls.
The office i work in 3 days a week is in the National Press Club Building in Barton, every Wednesday they do the televised program for the ABC. Today's speaker was the Tibetan Cabinet Minister. I missed the talk but I would have love to have heard it, we can go in to the club for lunch and watch it. The dailama was in there as well and missed him to last year. Must get my s%$@# together go in.
I bought a new camera today verrrry expensive but great. It's an SLR digital so great for macro images to use in textile design and I really got it to take with me to Moomba with Peter. Still waiting to hear when he is going to I can pack my swag and go,( well bag and motel/pub room) he is not allowed to camp OHS apparently. Guess Peter doesn't have much out back experience(snicker snicker. I hope to have some good photos to do something with, maybe go to RMIT in Melbourne and do a range of Australian fabrics now that would be fun. Oh did I mention Bill doesn't know I spent the money Guess I will hear about it though.
Spell Check for Bernice. look along the tool bar below where you put the Title and you will see ABCtick click on it and it will show the mistakes. click on the word and it will give you options, click the one you want. When you have finished click resume editing and continue writing or publish the post.
Janie loading images. click the icon next to spell check, browse for the image select image, publish image, click done either choose another image or resume writing what ever you want. I find it easier to do One at a time rather than choose anther image before publish image. You can label them at the choosing point.
Well tomorrow is the Olympic torch day and I don't want to sound like a winger but bugger I can't get to work without going around the world to get there. They have basically closed all roads in the city limits so the torch relay can happen. I guess public servant will take the day off and make it a 4 day weekend.
Friday as we all know will be Anzac day and the girls and I are doing our usual and going to dawn service, It's always cold but we going out to breakfast with friends after and this year we have snow boots. ARRRR warm feet. This is our family tradition we started when we moved to Canberra. I will see if I can take a few photos but there are so many people it will just be heads but I will try after the service. The War Memorial is always open just after the service and its a beautiful time to go to the wall and the tomb of the unknown soldier. Anyone want to come? maybe next year.

Good morning all. Been a busy morning. I woke at 0500hrs to Angelina coughing. I got her some medicine and paracetemol then gave her a botty and she went back to sleep. Mum had her in with her & Hokey so the bed was full. When Ange drifted off mum got up for breaky. I went back to bed at about 6, not expecting to get back to sleep. I woke at 7:40 and told Tony the time. He was to be in at Ultimo TAFE at 0830 to start the Certificate 4 course. He ended up being 15 minutes late but considering the heavy rain and subsequent heavy traffic he did alright. I was up and at Nonna's by 0845 as I'd asked a friend if I could borrow a couple of his laborers to move some plants. They were there waiting for me. God bless them they did 3 uteloads of plants to our place for me. The most of which belonged to Tony when he had the workshop in Chapel Street, hundreds of dollars worth of plants. They were huge and very heavy. Took the lads an hour and half to do what would've taken Tony (because of his own health) two weekends. Not consecutive weekends either. I was so greatful.
Thank you Jane but I still think I am given more credit than is due. Actually I'm pretty lucky having a wonderful husband who doesn't see my bodgy side (not always a good thing) and two gorgeous (yet feral) kids. I'm probably too tough on them at times as I don't pander to them. As for the disability I try not to let it affect my day to day life. The discomfort and fact that I cannot run is what ticks me the most but otherwise I'm no worse off than anyone else. I was surprised at how well I took Hokey swallowing the chemical. The fact his grandmother had died 6 days before not 4 metres from where he fell disturbed me a little. Then at the hospital when wheeling him to x-ray the wardsman pushed him feet first, which used once only to be how deceased patients were moved. I'm not by nature a suspicious person so I pushed such silly thoughts away. I think he was just fueling up for the rest of the holidays!
To put pics on here you just click on the picture icon, 2nd from the end in the box you type your posts in. A screen will come up asking for the filename of the upload.
Click on 'Browse' then go to whichever folder your picture is in and double click the file.
You will be taken back to the upload page and there a blue link above the file that says "upload another image" or something to that effect. You either click on that and go through the process again or click the orange tab below that says "Upload Image".
When you post your blog entry you will see your pics. I'm not sure how to label them. I think at the bottom before you post the blog there is an option to 'add labels' that may allow you to name each photo. When you've uploaded the images and before you publish the post the pictures don't show as pictures but a whole lot of script. I've screendumped each page you go through to do the upload. I just typed under each file script to label the pics. Good luck...
I'm taking Hokey to his friends place at one o-clock so the boy can show him how to play his GameBoy. Tony reckons it doesn't work, that the buttons don't work but the poor old geezer is blind as a bat and I can work the thing but it's a bit tricky showing Hokey as I'm only using one hand to operate all the keys.
Mum's going crook at all the rain because she can't get the washing out and can't get it dry enough by hanging it undercover. Doesn't bother me, I love the rain regardless of washing and wet floors.

Thank you Jane but I still think I am given more credit than is due. Actually I'm pretty lucky having a wonderful husband who doesn't see my bodgy side (not always a good thing) and two gorgeous (yet feral) kids. I'm probably too tough on them at times as I don't pander to them. As for the disability I try not to let it affect my day to day life. The discomfort and fact that I cannot run is what ticks me the most but otherwise I'm no worse off than anyone else. I was surprised at how well I took Hokey swallowing the chemical. The fact his grandmother had died 6 days before not 4 metres from where he fell disturbed me a little. Then at the hospital when wheeling him to x-ray the wardsman pushed him feet first, which used once only to be how deceased patients were moved. I'm not by nature a suspicious person so I pushed such silly thoughts away. I think he was just fueling up for the rest of the holidays!
To put pics on here you just click on the picture icon, 2nd from the end in the box you type your posts in. A screen will come up asking for the filename of the upload.
Click on 'Browse' then go to whichever folder your picture is in and double click the file.
You will be taken back to the upload page and there a blue link above the file that says "upload another image" or something to that effect. You either click on that and go through the process again or click the orange tab below that says "Upload Image".
When you post your blog entry you will see your pics. I'm not sure how to label them. I think at the bottom before you post the blog there is an option to 'add labels' that may allow you to name each photo. When you've uploaded the images and before you publish the post the pictures don't show as pictures but a whole lot of script. I've screendumped each page you go through to do the upload. I just typed under each file script to label the pics. Good luck...

Greetings from Murwillumbah
Hello every one.
Goodness me Sara how much can a person take? You are amazing I don't know how you cope after reading your blog my heart went out to you. I can cope with anything except if my children get sick. I would have been beside myself, I think the thing that got me was the audacity of the Doctor giving you a lecture after you told him that you wern't at your house.
I hope you have all recovered. We are all enjoying the holidays here. I went into school today to get some work done it wasn't a good thing however, had to be done. Sebastian arrives home tomorrow and we are all looking forward to that. I am loking forward to the weekend Asha, Stewart mum and dad will be here which will be a lot of fun.

They went for a dip in the ocean the other day however, the water is beautiful at this time of the year I actually prefer it to Christmas time it seems to be warmer. I would say it had something to do with the outside chill factor.
Can anybody tell me how to get photos on to the blog I tried to copy and paste that didn't work is there any body who can tell me how to do it?

More drama, one of Tonys cousins arrived at our place yesterday to ask for the rememberence book to take as not all people signed it. Had a hide showing up here with the way they have treated Tony. He stipulated that he wanted it back but I think the aunt has claimed it. Tony doesn't think so but she took his fathers which was none of her business so nothing that family does could surprise me anymore. After that we went to collect Marc to go to the cemetary then we went back to his place (Nonna's). Hokey went straight out to the garage because Marc has Tonys little black car now and Hokey loves it. He opened the garage, saw a water bottle so grabbed it and drank a few mouthfulls. He ran inside next to me and was gasping at the table. I tried to ask what the matter was until I smelt what I thought was petrol. I called Tony to come quick as he had briefly passed out. I told Marc to call the ambulance while Tony attended Hokey, he stuck his fingers down his throught to make him vomit which I wasn't sure was right but just wanted the kid to breath, which he did. He was coughing uncontrollably and had vomited a couple of times by the time the ambulance arrived. They checked him out then loaded him in the vehicle and we went to Canterbury hospital. I told them what he had swallowed, they called the poison hotline and there were 3 seperate types of the brand of fluid he'd drank. I phoned Marc to ask which one and apparantly it was the strongest of the 3. "Prepsol" a chemical used to prepare cars for spray painting. They did a chest x-ray and after two attempts whith 3 of us holding him down were able to get a canula in his arm to get some blood, A lot of bribary going on. Turns out all were ok but they wanted to keep him overnight for observation so we went down to the kids ward and thankfully he had a single room. It had a pull out sofa bed but I knew I wouldn't get to use it as I had to sleep with him in case he woke and I wasn't next to him, he'd sctream the place down. He'd already had a couple of sleeps and at 1am asked for something to eat so the nurse made some toast for him. He ate that and after a while I just lay down with him and eventually he went off. I drifted off about 2'ish. Awake at 6. Doctor came at 9 and gave the poisons lecture. I explained we weren't at home but at the boys uncles place and he has no kids about, yadda yadda yadda. I called Tony then we came home and tubbed. We were both pretty manky. I slept on the bed with Ango' for a few hours this afternoon but am still ready to go back to sleep again so I will sign out. Hello Family,
Thankyou everyone for sending condolences to Tony. Very soggy here today and the past week. Praise the Lord for holding back the rains yesterday for the duration of the event. Was not a nice gathering at all, no family spoke to Tony, they all snubbed him. Disgusting. He's had to arrange everything after doing the same two months ago for his father. We organised framed photographs and I did Nonna's make-up for her. He's had a very distressing week and crumpled in a heap while saying his eulogy. I think he slept right through last night as there were no tea-bags on the bench when I got up at 4am, nor at 8! He's feeling better today.
Greg brought Mum up yesterday afternoon. Greg knocked on the door and brought some bags in then after a while mum came in calling out for me. She'd fallen coming up the front steps, must've fallen on the railing and tore a huge 4x2 chunk of skin on her arm. It wasn't just surface skin but a very thick layer. I rolled out the skin and pulled it back into place as best I could then Tony bandaged her up. It's Saturday and she is not supposed to be doing anything on a Saturday, the arm should at least encourage her to be still but NOOooo, when I came back from getting groceries she'd hung some washing and had another load in. I bought a paper so I'm hoping she's reading that now.
Aunt Mona, mum said to call her here at my place. She saw Aunty June on Wednesday, she looks tired but is in good spirits. Said she "won't know anything until the 18th of May". Mum said that Meg is going to go to the doctors with Aunty June.
No news, just checking in to say "Thank you" to everyone and I've passed your condolences on to Tony.

I have had a hard time getting in - pass word would not work. Tried about a month a go and could not get in then, but have persevered this time.
So sorry to hear of Tony's mother's passing. Fortunately Sara is a strong person, but it must be a very emotional time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Aunty June, love and prayers to you too.
Have been meaning to get on for ages, but I just worked out that Ronny and I have not been home in 8 weekends. we were going camping this weekend, but then decided, just for a treat, we would stay at home! I hope I achieve my goals this weekend - all little odd jobs.
I meant to write after Easter, when Stewart came camping with us, but now seems too long ago. Will attach a photo anyway. We were camping on private property about an hour away from Grafton, on the Clarence River. A magic spot - we are going there again next week for 4 days ( we are on school holidays).
Ronny and I got back from Sydney yesterday - well, wednesday, but we flew into Lismore and stayed the night with mum and dad. Ronny fixed the guttering and I mowed, so all is well there. Both parental units are well. I almost have them convinced to upgrade their computer (my old one) and go on the net. It will happen, just not sure when!
The weekend before, we were in New Zealand. My friend (and bridesmaid) got married, so we took a week's long service leave and went over. Had a great time, wedding was lovely. I was asked to do a reading at the service, and 5 minutes before the bride arrived, I remembered that I had left the reading - a poem - back at the friends place we were staying! major panic, friend rang her mother, she raced around to their place, found the poem I had left in our bedroom, and read it out to me over the phone. I scribbled it on an old envelope and when i read the poem, had it hidden in a lace hanky that my mother always told me carry! Nobody even knew in the end, but boy, only just made it in time!
Last weekend we were in Sydney to visit Ronny's father. He lives out past Liverpool. Did not go anywhere other than around that area, but that was why we went down there. He is doing ok.
Otherwise, all well here. tomorrow I finally get to play a game of hockey! have missed the first 4 games so am looking forward to it. My body will probably not thank me later, but should be fun.

Greetings from Murwillumbah
Hello every one do you remember me?
School holidays so I have a little time up my sleeve. (ha! ha!) Where to start.
We are very sorry to Auntie June and the girls it is a very hard time and our prayers are with you.
Sara I am also very sorry to hear about Tony's mother my prayers are with you and Tony and your family as well.
Every one is really well here I received a phone call from Sebastian yesterday he was in Noumea, Iva today and Vanuatu Saturday and Sunday he is currently cruising the South Pacific. Good friends of ours invited him along (Lucky kid) However very deserving he has worked hard this term finishing his half yearly exams the day before he left. This will be his last break until the big exam.
I had Anthea home for a few days last week. Q.L.d only had 1 week and it didn't coincide with her holidays I took a few days off and boy did we hit the shops.
It was so good to see her I didn't realise how much I missed her.
Asha is well back into Uni Grace turned 13 on Saturday, and Brydie is wonderful. Hockey season has started and our life revolves around it during winter. Brydie is playing first grade ladies Hockey at the moment which is a great achievement she went from Junior to first grade ladies. She loves it. I must say I quite enjoy watching first grade over junior. Patrick and I are well both of us are very fit at the moment which is great.
Mum and dad and Stewart are really well they will all be here on ANZAC day. dad marches in Murwillumbah these days so that he can march with his grandchildren. We have a tradition here after the service dad takes the kids to the R.S.L club and buys them red drink and we all have a few drinks we then usually adjourn to our house for the day in which we usually have a BBQ and a few reds. It is always a great day. Lisa and Ron usually don't come they are excused as it is their wedding anniversary and they are usually away.
I spoke to Lisa on Sunday and both of them are really well.
I will close here I will be back I have to go and get the kids dinner. Love to every one Janexxxxx

It's only Wednesday and it's already been a ;ong week. Tonys mum died, very suddenly on Monday morning. He has been flat out trying to organise everything. He is exhausted and has not slept. They had their differences but her passing has indeed affected him. I have only spoken briefly to Mum, Meg, Greg and Kenny so don't really know what everyone is up to. I have to take Nonna's clothes up the corner later. Might take the kids and walk the three blocks, will give Tony a chance to rest peacefully and wear the kids out a bit. Had better take a pram too, just in case...

No news but thought I would say hello.
I went to sydney yesterday for the day with hannah. we went to the designex fair, which is a trade fair for interior design etc. We had a great time. On the way home we had a wonderful sunset. So i took a quick snap. Hope everyone is well and love and best wishes to Junie and the girls.

I was going to do this on your birthday! but i'm feeling sentimental So thought i would say it now. Now don't get teary this is to put a smile on your face!!
Ken and i love you very much and have always been grateful to you for all the times you have helped us out and just been their for us.
First up! for letting me "Play with Nathile" when all the other mothers in Bourke thought i was Feral' or something' Maybe because we lived in a old shack and there were nine kids and No Dad!! Little did they know that i was just as good as their rich little daughters..But you knew!
Altho......Nat and i did get up to a "Little mischief' but we won't go into that! Ha!
For the time when I was a 'Beautiful teenager', and was having teenage problems in bourke and I went down to you in wagga, You treated me just like a daughter, i thank you.
And for the time Ken and i lived in wagga, and arrived there with just a "Bootload" to make a home, you helped us with furniture and Linen etc etc.. and the very large boxes of fruit and veg's you would "Lug up them old stairs every week!!!
You haven't had it easy for most of your life but you never moaned, and now you can look back at your kids (Oh except Nat!) Ha! and grand kids and great grand kids and feel a little Joy and self satisfaction. I could write on but i may get to soppy.

Hi all, its not a good day, hearing the news of the results about june.we are devastated and angry. I can't think about anything else at the moment, ken's at work and i don't feel like going anywhere, So I'm sitting here talking to all of you.
I was talking to Nathile this morning.
How dare those Doctors think of leaving a lady of June's age that long before they were going to give her those kind of results. Maybe a second opinion wouldn't hurt, and maybe seeing a Oncologist, Or has she? I don't know maybe I'm grabbing at straws, i know the girls will do their best for her. and I know she can't be put through too much. Its just that I'm stubborn and always hopeful, I could have lost my breast if I had not got a second opinion( not that anyone would have noticed!! ) Poor little things. Lets hope the radiation gives her the relief she wants.
Toni-lee ,Wendy and Nat know that we are here for any support and love you need.

Mum phoned the Dr back and asked what was going on and he told her she has very advanced cancer and nothing can be done for her.

I have just had a phone call from mum, she ended up phoning the Dr to find out what is going on. We thought we would know something after the hospital visit but we were wrong again. She now has to wait untill 16/5/08 to get the results. Yes you read correctly, she now has an appointment on 16 May to find out the results from her tests done on 8 April,the Dr is at the Mater? Hospital in Newcastle. oh we have a great medical system dont we.
I think she was a little down after hearing about the long wait. Oh well.

June update
Hi all,Just had a phone call from Toni. Mum has had her exploratory examination done and is now at home. She is a little soar and very tired so hopefully she will sleep all afternoon. We are none the wiser as to what is going on, the Dr will call her in the next couple of days to give her the rseults etc and what happens next. They did not tell mum anything at the hospital.
She seams to be in good spirit still, Lenice had the weekend with mum and thought she looked better than she expected her too.

Thankyou Toni for the email regarding dates for Aunty Junes dinner. I've been praying for her, as I do for everyone. Fair dinkum, Aunty June would have to be the toughest of all then to be slugged with this just when she gets to have a little comfort and rest in life.
I'm eating a bacon, egg and vegemite sandwich that Tony just made for me. Crispy bacon and runny egg, just how I like it. I really felt like a croissant but would've had to go up the Gaza Strip to get it and trying to find parking there at anytime is a nightmare so the sanga will have to do.
We went to soccer this morning. Hokey was his usual self, off the field more than on. He only wants to play with his cars. I told Tony he's not ready for it yet. Oh well, it's up to him, it's not competition anyway, sort of like the 'pre-school' of soccer. They're just in there to get the feel of it. The other boys are doing pretty good. Angelina screamed the whole time. She kept running onto the field to Daddy who was referee. She had a very restless night, I think she may be getting a cold.
Finally Tony's doctor has told him he doesn't need to make an appointment but to just come straight in if he needs to see her. He's the same, a bit of exertion knocks him up for the day. That half hour on the soccer field this morning will have him layed out until 2 or 3 this afternoon. Each day after work he goes straight to bed, gets up to eat then back to bed. Praise the Lord he's been accepted into TAFE to do a Certificate 4 in Training and Asessment, which will qualify him to teach at TAFE or any private organisation. That is just what he needs, to get off the tools. Then we will move to wherever the job (when he gets a teaching one) takes us.
Where is Lin going? I must've missed a few entries there. I thought I read them all. SA? That'd be nice. Yes, Lissa looks very much like Aunty Lin, very pretty and slim too. Oh to have youth on your side. I'm an old chook now (no offense to the older cousins) only Paula and Michael behind me. They'll be 2009 & 2010 respectively I think.
Someone keeps trying to connect to my mobile phone and also to my wireless internet connection. I'm getting jack of it but nothing I can do. I've adjusted all settings to deny access so they can try all they like.
I don't think I have any news. We don't go anywhere, don't see anyone and I only to to Mum and Greg on a semi regular basis. Meg is always busy and Greg's at work. Mum and I call each other a couple of times a week but that's it. I wrote to Johnno a few weeks back. He phoned one night but I was in with the kids putting them to bed when the phone rang. Tony was asleep when I went back to bed so I asked the next day "who was on the phone last night?" "Uncle Johnno" he said "the tests came back all clear". Good thing I wasn't hanging out for a message. He forgets everything (Tony). I think it's "Domestic Amnesia". He also suffers Domestic Deafness. A lovely effect I have on men!

Pilot Mound on the move !!
Good morning all. I can only take a minute or two to do this, my voting time is running out. Got up this am at 4-30, couldn't go back to sleep, so voted till 6am I can get 18 to 20 votes in in a minute if the computer doesn't slow down. Kell is filling her days with voting for me, too, along with every person (I hope!!) in PM and all friends and relatives everywhere. It is a busy but exciting time. We had a wonderful weekend last week with CBC TV, CKX TV (from Brandon), and Kraft Canada all here. I hope to have pictures to post later.
Have the Pretty Rosie with us till Sunday I think. She is so smart. I didn't put food down for her, so she just went out and hit her food dish against her water dish, then stood there till I looked up and went and got food!

Hi all hope everyone is well and happy.
Wendy, thanks for letting everyone know whats happening with june, Poor old darling but I'm very positive for her and we all have to be , she is healthy, fit, strong headed for her age and seems to be coping so far very good and this is what she needs before the treatment starts, then she will need a lot of positive support (a prayer won't hurt) and love, and the girls too so they can be there for her when needed. Radiotherapy and chemo can work wonders! did for John, so will it for Junie.
Toni-lee has been a little Trojan for her. When the going gets tough the tough get going aye Toni.
We have booked for her birthday weekend and so has Bob Trish as we are classing it as a welcome back to good health june and we want to go see her anyway, also nat and family. Hopefully give her a little cheer to see everyone. but more on that later. get well soon Junie, We love you!

Just an update for anyone who may be wondering what is going on with mum. She has been diagnosed with cervical cancer, it has gone into the vagina and then outside the right wall of the vagina and cannot be operated on, howether the Dr has said she might be able to have 25 days straight treatment of both kemo and radiation.
She has to go into hospital on 8th April so they can do a thorough search so hopefully we will know more then.
Mum didnt want anyone to know untill she knew what was happening so we do apologise to everyone for not speaking out earlier.
Toni or I will try to keep you all updated when we have more information, at the moment we are going day by day with mum, it gets a little hard as she is such an independant and private person and dosnt want to upset or bother anyone. Toni has been going to the Dr with mum. So far mum is still living on her own.

bourke show is on 12th of april but its so tiny its barely worht going to we only make an appearance to see the working dog trials the horse events etc.

Dumplings For liss
Lissa I used to make these when I came home on visits And Pete loved them
Microwave Caramel Dumplings Serves 4
20g Butter
40g sugar
50mls Milk
150g S.R flour
pinch salt
Rub butter into flour, then slat and sugar, mix to a soft dough
Sauce
100g Brown Sugar or 2 table spoons golden syrup
30g Butter
250mls Water
mix all sauces ingredients in a 2 lt dish and bring to the boil ( about 3 mins) drop rounds of dough into hot sauce cover and cook 3.5 / 4 mins on high.
See you in May when I go with dad to Moomba(?) think thats where we are going. I am looking forward to it. I want a new camera to document the trip and maybe I will be able to make some large prints too.
Is Kell still coming over to visit for the school holidays I told her we would go soemwhere for a flight seems she has never been. What are you doing Liss want to come to?

Baked Ricotta with cherries in a vanilla syrup
Recipe from Sharing Plates by Jared Ingersoll. Published by Murdoch Books.
For the baked ricotta
750g ricotta cheese
2 eggs
1 vanilla bean
175g caster sugar
200g unsalted pistachio nuts
Preheat your oven to 150C (300F/Gas 2). Put the ricotta and eggs in a large bowl, then beat together. Carefully split the vanilla bean and scrape the seeds into the ricotta, reserving the bean itself for the syrup. Now add the sugar and pistachios and beat together well.
Life is easier if you have a non stick loaf (bar) tin, about 21x10x5cm(8.25x4x2in), for the ricotta, but if you don't have one, then grease and line the tin with plastic wrap. Spoon the ricotta mixture into the tin and smooth the top, then cover the tin with foil. You now want to cook the ricotta in a bain-marie, which is basically means in a water bath. To do this, place your loaf tin in a roasting tray and pour in enough boiling water to come halfway up the outside of the ricotta tin. Bake this for 50mins. Remove from the water, take of the foil and allow the ricotta to cool completely in the fridge before turning out - it will need a few hours to cool.
For the Cherries
280g sugar
1 lemon
the leftover vanilla bean from the ricotta
100ml cold water
55ml kirsch
250g cherries
Put the sugar, a small piece of lemon zest, the vanilla bean and water in a saucepan and cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes, or until you have a very pale caramel. Remove the pan from the heat and stop the cooking process by carefully adding a squeeze of lemon juice and the kirsch. Allow to cool completely but don’t refrigerate – it will take about 45 minutes.
Take you cherries and remove their stems. Working over a bowl, tear the cherries in half to remove the stone. I like the look of the torn untidy pieces of cherry; also you will be squeezing out the juice, which will look great on the plate. Keep in the fridge until you are ready to serve.
For serving
Slice the ricotta into about eight even pieces, depending on how many people you are serving. Remove the lemon zest and vanilla bean form the syrup and pour the syrup over the cherries, then serve the cherries over the cut ricotta.
