Merry Christmas.

Morning all....or anyone...if anyone happens to, by chance, get on this site!!
Here it is 10-45 am on Christmas day. We have little Rosie with us for a week to lighten my day and help with 'stuff to do'. I told Bill I would like to go to sleep and wake up just in time to say Happy Birthday to John!
We had our Christmas service at 4-30 yesterday afternoon, and for us, that was Christmas. The older I get, the more commercialized the season gets.
We are supposed to go to the kids next door for supper, but Bill has a fierce head cold, and there will be small children there, so I told Rhonda we would stay at home and not risk the children getting the cold. I am going to cook a couple of Cornish hens later in the day. Meantime, we are enjoying just sitting with little to do. I made a pie for the kids and Bill has just taken it to the Hall (the kids rent the Church Hall for today and tomorrow, and about 30 gather for food today and games tomorrow.)
We didn't do the 'present' thing this year, opting to go for a long week end sometime in Jan. What do we need or want at our age?
Talked to Cook a couple of days ago, all well there. Haven't heard from Kell, but I think she is down in Whitefish.
Today is the coldest day we have had so far at -28 with wind chill of (so they say!!!) -45. Bill shovelled a spot in the snow for the pretty one to go for pee breaks, but I'm thinking she wont stay out for long. Even the little birds are hiding out of the wind somewhere. I have to get some suet balls up for them, they use so much of their body fat in this cold.
We have had some of the most beautiful hoar frosts this past week or so. I think of Wendy every time, she loved it too!. We only get it when we have a bit of a warm spell then cold.
I don't have any  news or anything to say really, so will go. As soon as I get the last few posts on Flash, I will tell Lyn to discontinue the Blog, as I am the only one useing it, and I don't know if anyone reads it anyway! I check every morning, hoping someone else will have written, and get tired of my own ramblings. No use to have it if not used.
Best go make Bill a coffee, he just came in the back door.
Love to anyone who sees this, hope you had a quiet and restful Christmas day.
                               God Bless.   Mona

Mona's back!!!

Morning all. This am, early, I checked the Blog....nothing new. Then I decided I was going to get on if it took me all day. A NEW AND DIFFERENT PAGE CAME UP!!!! So here I am, with nothing to say!! I haven't had a good time since SB left us. Just need to be with family.
Today I have to start into my Christmas Cheer. This is my last year at it, and have a friend who is taking over, she will work with me this year, I will work with her next year if she needs me, then I AM FREE!!! I wont be sorry, it is starting to get to be a lot of work and no time for ourselves.
Bill and I went to Winnipeg on Sat. stayed in a motel and went to our Cathedral for service on Sun. morn. My Cathedral "Fix" before Christmas.
We had an interment of ashes to do before we left on Sat., the ashes of a good friend who died the same day as SB. It was stormy and freezing cold, and the cemetery is on a hill, the better to catch the wind!! The family are good friends and we had a bottle...no, magnum, of good champagne to toast Joan with...it was too cold to enjoy it, we had to just swallow in one gulp, it was turning to slush!!
I got some nice photos by E mail from Wendy yesterday. I mailed them on to Kell, too. Kell is home just now, but heading back to Calgary for kids concerts, then to Whitefish for Christmas. She says she is doing OK.
Oh, Bernice, thanks for the pics you put on the blog. They are nice.
We have lots of snow, and now it is too cold for any to melt, so it is here till March. It is about minus 22 this am. Bill wants to go put up more lights, but I wont let him. He spent a week in hospital with a bleeding ulcer a couple of weeks ago. His Hb went down to below 60 and is taking its time coming back up in spite of iron pills etc. He gets tired easily and has to sleep. I say the lights can wait till next year!
Best go. Our 94 year old cousin fell and tore the skin off her hand on Sat. and I have to take her to the hospital to have it dressed again. She will be waiting in the hall for me.
IF I can get back on, will drop a note before Christmas. Love to all and God Bless.  Mona
