Quick Hi from Canberra
Hi All
Well not much news here. Still really busy with the web course, and I have to say it's frustrating. But work is happy with the site although it is now very basic and Have taken all the wizz bang bits off. @ weeks till assessment so head down bum up as they say!
The girls are both out so home alone and getting a bit done. I am off to Sydney tomorrow for the day. We have had a little rain today so I hope tomorrow is nice weather, And 1st of spring Yoo Hoo.
For the OS people The house flu has hit town it has basiclly shut down the equine industry altogether and it may even cancell the Melbourne cup. We have friends who have been effected and horse movement has been stopped almost all over the country.
I think I say that I had a week in Melbourne to learn a new weave program It was a great week i love Melbourne such good coffee and I love the Trams.

Hello from Calgary
Hello everybody! The family and I spent the last two weeks along the Oregon Coast in a town called Oceanside.. We had an amazing ocean view from our cabin. We strolled along the beach and found sea stars, anenomes, urchins and crabs. There were hundreds of harbour seals a mile of the beach living on the "Three Arch Rocks". We went to Depoe Bay and saw gray whales 20 metres off shore. We surfed and dove through the freezing cold waves and had a blast. We went to Tillamook and visited the Cheese Factory.
While at the cabin, Reno (my german shepherd puppy) got very sick. He hadn't eaten in two days, his ears we as flat as can be and he could barely keep his eyes open. We took him in town in Tillamook to the closest vet. They hospitalized him for one night, took some x-rays but couldn't find anything. The vet told us that if he got any worse we would have to take him to the 24 hour animal emergency in Portland. So the next day, still not eating, we took him down to an animal emergency called Dove Lewis two hours from Oceanside, to Portland.. They took him in right away and took some x-rays. They brought us in and showed us that he had something stuck in his small intestine that looked something like a piece of corn cob or a pine cone. We agreed to surgery so they began getting ready. We went out for dinner near Dove Lewis while Reno was having his surgery. When we returned, The surgeon came out and showed us a piece of corn cob about two inches long that was stuck in his small intestine. They hospitalized him and we went back to Oceanside. Two days later, Mom and I went to Portland to pick up Reno. When he came through the door he was a whole new puppy. He was almost doing backflips when he saw us. He got a big haicut on his belly and had and 18 staples.
On Tuesday night (August 28) Mom, Elisa, Grandma, Grandpa, and I went to Heritage Acres (Outside of Pincher Creek) for a Progressive Conservative Party Event to meet the premier and his wife. Grandma and Grandpa Deda were honoured for their many years of service with the PC Party. It was fun to be there for this special time. School is starting in five days so I probably won't write for a while unless I'm visiting Grandma and Grandpa.

Hi all, great to hear from Joanne, letus know whats happening in your life, hows the little ones, keeping you busy i bet.
Meg thanks for the container, your naughty tho, as it would have cost more to send it but a lovely thought. how did you go with the dvd's ? + or - Hey meg Ken and I really enjoyed reading Greg's letter to jacob, Ha he writes just like he talks..so country so cute..so from the heart.
Belinda, hi hows things , haven't heard from you for awhile? I got into flickr the other day to have a look, and I don't think the few photo's that were put on our blog before flickr are on flickr site ? are they. if not is there a way to transfer them over ? as they will be lost in the old posts. I still don't know how to post photo's yet but one day i will ring Sara and get her to guide me thru it.
Are you getting the rain we are ? its driving me crazy as our yard is so muddy and chopped up.
Mona hi before I forget...A Hoon' in the dictionary says aussie slang for a idiot. some hoon"s are too, but i like to think Ken was more of a"larrikin' the word is used mostly for driving , biking, boating etc.. Hooning around in your car etc mucking around , racing and or having fun.
Hows the house coming, i admire you and kel for the volenteer work you do, i should get off my backside and do some, like helping out at a nursing home or such they need so many volenteers for little things ( i specially noticed after visiting Wyn) but I am either to busy too slack or too lazy. Hows Bill say Hi.
Jacob, great to hear from you, hows things going now , sounds like your weather has not been good either for outdoor stuff. hows your course going? The Army is not a bad thing they give you a chance of getting a good career also. stay happy.
Jane i was talking to Stewart the other night, He's given up the 'cigs' so proud of him, as its so hard. its something i have to do very soon as i can't shake a cough if i get a cold now it goes straight to my chest not good. good on him anyway. if you are talking to lisa tell her I will catch up with her soon as I think she is marking somewhere . Thank the LORD for Cec & Ray, & Thank THEM! What a relief to have them with John. Will you tell Cec please Jess, that I put a letter in the mail today, & tell her to "shut up", I don't want to hear "it"!!
Was it Mal Fraser who said "life wasn't meant to be easy?" Well, he hit the nail on the head.
I began to panic today, when I rang John. No answer, after about 20 rings. What is going on? I didn't have a Dubbo # to ring, & was getting very antsy. While I was considering the dilemma, Mo rang. She had just spoken to John. I was about 30 minutes too soon. They were all outside doing??? Anyway, big relief. Mo said J was VERY upbeat, had no ill effects after the treatment, & was quite unconcerned. BIG relief. Mo told them I will ring in a few days, & we will be in touch after the next treeatment. He is a
marvel. His attitude is fantastic, & that will be very much to his benefit as time goes on. Positive is in, negative is out!! I had so much to say, in response to the MANY blogs since I last checked in. However, can't go over them all again, & foolishly, I did not take notes. I do remember someone asking about Neal childa. Jenny still in Bourke, with Lindsay, who is finishing school this year I do believe. The 2 girls are in Wagga. Finished their Uni. ( At least Briony has.) I think Megan is still going, but has done extremely well, & has had a special offer from the uni. I should let someone who is more informed, answer the question.
I think Jenny would love to be closer to the girls, but Peter is "a BOURKE boy" & I don't think he has any plans to move.
It has been a busy time here. We were in Whitefis last week, 4 days. Came home in time to get busy with our Fair & Rodeo, this week-end. Mo will attest. When one takes on a volunteer job in small-town Canada, it is for LIFE!! No one, I mean NO ONE, is prepared to do any volunteering these days, so we oldies are stuck with the jobs we have been doing for years, & will probably do till we die!!! Most folk do "their own thing." To heck with the rest. Anyway, I was faced with the prospect of getting a million, (well, just about!!!) judges for the fair & parade. I told them months ago that I "was out" this year. Well, I was "still in" as far as they were concerned, as there were no replacements. Got my last "volunteer" (???) today, so at least, I have a "free" day. Have a few things on Sat., but should be over early, by noon anyway.
Charlotte & fam. should be here on Sunday. Then back to Calgary for them.
I think Jo plans on going to
Whitefish with the childa on Tuesday. Steve is golfing somewhere in B. C. I will try & go to W/F too, with Peter of course. Just to halp with the babes, as it is also a busy time for Kate, with her houses. Will see what happens.
Was good to hear from you Jacob. I do hope it is working out well for you.
Weather has turned cool, too soon for me. We just finished winter!! Mo, the b---, will be happy. Who ever heard of anyone ENJOYING winter??? I hate the thoughts, & will be glad to be in Oz for a month.
Bernice, I will get you a photo of a "sea - Doo". I didn't take my camera to W/F last week. However, they are like a Jet Ski, but twicw the size. Much fun, & the kids love them. Two or three can sit on them, & you just drive them like a motor boat.
I posted a lot of photos on Flickr a week or so ago. I don't remember what now, but I know there were some of Peter in hosp. He was looking VERY old, as of course he is, but he usually doesn't look that bad!! I will send some of the deer that I took today, outside our front door. Maybe next week. (???)
I'll TRY & read the last Blogs, & respond where necessary, but for now, I don't think many of you have the time to read long blogs like this, so will try & do "short & sweet" in future. (But no promises yet!!) Love to all. Kelly

lovely to hear from every one especially Jacob. A special thanks to Jess. We have had a more settled week this week no-one sick. Sebastian sat his chemistry exam on Friday as he felt ok. I have been a little unsettled over the news of Johno which I am sure every one reading this has felt the same. I have done a lot of thinking and you know we are one amazing family.
In a world where there is so much violence and hatred unsettledness, we have something really special that we can get very excited to hear from cousins, second cousins, auntie's, sister's and brothers neices and not only in our own country but half way around the world. I am sure that every one felt as I did on hearing Jess's report from Untie Cec my immediate reaction was Oh God what can I do. You feel like dropping every thing and going to help.And then you feel really helpless. I can only imagine what the Aunts in Canada felt. And I am sure every one is eternally greatful to "saints" Auntie Cec and Uncle Ray.(wow what amazing people)
Lisa, is another one of those amazing people. You might know but I am going to tell you (and I will probably get a serving!!)she is so wonderful to Auntie Wynn she brings pleasure to her miserable life. She regularly visits her takes her out (took her swimming for the first time in years)Is known to take her for a few drinks. Auntie Wynn is now in a nursing home so she can't get out as much however, Lisa still does a fair bit. (Along with auntie Cec and Uncle Ray who come up and visit regularly.
And then there is Bernice and Kenny who, in this family bring so much joy and fun. In our family if Ken and Bernice are visiting one of the siblings we all want to be there. And I am sure that is how most of you feel if you know they are in the vicinity you want to be there ( I always think I am going to miss out on something!!!)
Patrick does not have this with his family he always says he is closer to my family than his. Brydie felt closer to he canadian (second cousins) when they were out than she has ever felt to her Egan first cousins.
I think it is amazing that we all grew up together we don't see each other but we just love hearing from every one. (If we all lived near we would probably hate each other maybe that is our secret!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Now I have finished contemplating and being all lovey dovey hope every one is well. we have our Athletics Carnival tomorrow (I hate carnivals) kids love them they go all out dress up in their house colours. Brydie is not here tonight as she is staying over at friends house to get ready for the carnival!!!!!!!! She will be very happy to be able to contact Jacob again she use to talk to him on MSN before he went to NZ.
Haven't heard from auntie Kell for a while it was good to hear from Auntie Mona. You sound great Meg, But Milk Meg? I can think of better things to drink that will make you fat( and a lot more fun!!!)Go girl. (p.s send me your email still chasing the cuisanaires will go down to the primary school and do some sweet talking, we are all on the same campus).
I will close off here take care and heres cheers to a great family, (Nanna Payton did a pretty good job!!!!)
Oh I keep forgetting to ask does any one know about the Neale kids what they are up to. Are Jenny and Peter White still in Bourke? Their kids would be all grown up now wouldn't they?

Hello Everyone Its Jacob Here
Hi everyone its jacob here :) long time no see or in some cases speak.. im just letting you all know that this is my first post on the payton family blogg so im sorry if i dont mention you all...
im going to kepp giving you updates about me so yea... here is the first of many to come.
As some of you know or all of you im now living in New Zealand with my dad.. im happy here so no need to worry about that... anyway yea all is well.. im not going to school... but im going to a place called UNITECH it is a cross between Uni and Tafe... im doing a certificate in electrotechnology... its the electricial fundimentals and from there i will be able to go into 3 other avenues. lighting and theater, Secruity systems and one other but i forget what it is :P anyway... im makeing some big changes in my life... if i pass this course im going to go into the Secruity side of this course... but if i fale im going to join the army... Yes thats right the army... im going to try and become a rifleman... and the after 3 years try and become a sniper... but i will have more on that later...
Im missig home altho i cant call crookwell home anymore... it feels like home anyway.. Im missing mum and marcus and espically nan (tommy) i just want to say a big I LOVE YOU to everyone and i miss you you so much... oh so much... life is good here in New Zealand except its cold, wet and raining and has been since i'v been here (which has been about 2 months). todays date is the 16/8/07

As some of you know or all of you im now living in New Zealand with my dad.. im happy here so no need to worry about that... anyway yea all is well.. im not going to school... but im going to a place called UNITECH it is a cross between Uni and Tafe... im doing a certificate in electrotechnology... its the electricial fundimentals and from there i will be able to go into 3 other avenues. lighting and theater, Secruity systems and one other but i forget what it is :P anyway... im makeing some big changes in my life... if i pass this course im going to go into the Secruity side of this course... but if i fale im going to join the army... Yes thats right the army... im going to try and become a rifleman... and the after 3 years try and become a sniper... but i will have more on that later...
Im missig home altho i cant call crookwell home anymore... it feels like home anyway.. Im missing mum and marcus and espically nan (tommy) i just want to say a big I LOVE YOU to everyone and i miss you you so much... oh so much... life is good here in New Zealand except its cold, wet and raining and has been since i'v been here (which has been about 2 months). todays date is the 16/8/07

Morning all, a bit of a cloudy cool day here today.Has been a bit fresh most days.Heres praying that all goes well for Johno today.He is in all our prayers and thoughts.Marcus has just walked out the door to get on the bus, he finished his maths assignment and I was very pleased with the effort that he put in.His teacher wants him to go up a class next year but Marcus wants to stay where he is.He is relating to the teachers and putting in an effort.So I have to agree with him there.Haavn't heard from Jacob in a few days and he didnt answer my last email so cant fill you in on what the big boy is doing.All is well at work, very busy and Im loving it.Im getting my head around the accounting side and learning the quickbooks program.I did have to get help to sort out all the "stuff" I had entered and to reconcile the bank which was good.Now I have to do my first BAS and I will get help with that.Im no further ahead with the sale of the house in Crookwell,Luke wont let it be rented out but wont pay the insurance rates mortgage etc.My solicitor has gone to sleep I think so I will be onto that job today and to get rid of her.Sara gave me the name of a fello ages ago which I will use I think.Greg was over last Sunday night and dropped Marcus off.He and Sheree stayed for tea.She is a lovey person,tall leggy blonde lady with a good career.Hopefully something more permanent will develop for him.Garry is well and working hard,still tormenting the life out of me, a lot of which I take seriously but its all in jest.Keeps me on my toes.

Thanks to Jess
Hi to all. Just wanted to say Thanks to Jess for the updates on John. It is a nice quick way for us to keep up to date. Kell phoned him a few days ago, and I talk to him quite often, will phone after his first treatment.....we thought it was to have been on the 6th!! We then phone each other to tell any news, etc.
Busy time here for us. Harvest is in full swing. Our Complex Committee rent a half section of land, plant crops, then harvest and sell, as a fund raiser. (A section is a square mile) Bill and I, not being farmers, aren't involved (I supply food prn.)but last night drove out to see how they were doing......Kelly, seven combines and two grain trucks on one field!! What a sight!! Bill tried to get pictures, but with so much dust, I am not sure what we will get. I am doing 3 doz. corn for the freezer this am, soon as Bill brings it home, this afternoon I do Palliative Care at the Lodge. Tomorrow I hope to do beet pickles, then it is a wait time for apples and tomatoes. If someone can tie Tom in a seat on a plane headed this way, she LOVED the tomatoes, and helped me can them when she was here!!
We have a friend painting the trim on the house, and when it is done...I hope by the end of this week, we are putting the siding on. It is Sage green.....a TAD greener than I thought, but I think will look sharp when done. White trim. I will try to send photos for those of you who know the place, but with trees all around (no one understands my love of and need for,trees!!)it is hard to get a photo of the house. We will see. We are hopeing to get to Pincher in Sept. so are hurrying to get things done. Bill has to go to Saskatchewan on 27/28 Aug. for a meeting, so cancel at least 3 and possibly 4 days out.(Driving time). I have to go to Swan Lake this eve to get chokecherries that my painter friend picked for me, then get them prepared (48 hours in vinegar) to make Bill's favourite drink. He is here with the corn. Best go. It is cloudy and looks like rain, so probably no painting to day. Maybe I can get some other work done.

First off about John,don't know about you but it sounds very scary to me, not good , do hope he pulls thru all this ok, even the treatment will be hard, and knowing him i feel he will need watching and monitoring. but who will or can do it for two years or even six months. Like you said kell thank god for Cec and Ray, they are just wonderful, and it would not be easy for them, and they like everyone else have their own life to contend with. I praise them, cause we can't do it. but what is going to happen? ken is ringing John tonight.
Good to hear from the Tully kids, yes We were and still are "Ute freaks" also. like Sara said its a country thing, and or male thing. Ken had a nice ute when he was young Hoon'.
Jane yes sorry, meant to tell you I got your BBQ invite, yea it was hard to open but kept on and it finally opened, you know i have had those pictures before in a email someone sent, and that beautiful spot is actually real and some holiday spot! it may have even been on getaway' i wish i could remember where it was, Do you know? isn't it just beautiful and luxirious.

Meg, I told you those things are archaic, if the 'abacus' is the only manual tool remembered after 35yrs (that's about how long ago I started school) then I'm sure that whatchamacallit is in a museum somewhere.
Jess, utes have always been a country girl thing, they still turn my head although most of the utes in the city are either company utes and driven by old guys or hotted up new Holdens driven by hoons, mostly Leb's.
Oh yeah, and the 'tipple' I enjoy, last year I had a preference to sherry. Only one type, "Oloroso". I asked Tony to grab me a bottle when he went out, "But only THAT one. If they don't have it then don't bother" I said. No sense saying that to Tony because he'll grab something anyway. He brought back a flagon!!!! My bemusement was lost on him. I never tried it but he used it in his sauces and stuff so even the old flagon doesn't go to waist.

So much to read, so little time. I'll talk.
Crikey, a person switches off for a few days and comes back to more reading than I get to do from books. Meg, do you still read as much or have you dropped off? Don't ever stop, you always amaze me how much you read. If I'd've (is "I'd've" even grammatical?) Is 'grammatical' a word? back to what I was saying, if I'd've known how time consuming children are I would have read a heck of a lot more b.c. ("before children") Maybe when it's my time to join the 'baldy bay' in the long yard I'll read some. I'll write to Jacob as soon as I can. Give him details of this site again and he can read whatever bits he wants and at the same time stay in touch with most of the family. Marcus is bound to find a rich 'older' woman, that kid cracks me up, he's so beautiful.
Bernice, always good to have a yarn. Lucky to catch me at home though. Playgroup Tuesdays and Wednesdays so any outings I have to do I do after playgroups. Thursday's the only day I really have for me. Yesterday I took Ango' for a drive to the city to Dymocks Sationery Store to get refills for my fountain pen. I'd love a nice writing set, maybe next time I will indulge myself only I don't have a nice hand at writing so want to find where I can learn the 'old' style writing, Script. Jane or Lisa maybe you would know of some leads there for me? I will check out the 'caligraphy' sets at the book store next time I pass it. They may have alphabet stencils or something.
Yeah, mum told me Kenny phoned her. I'll email you, Aunt' Mo' and Aunty Kell with current status of things.
Jane, it's Friday and the cleaning lady has been and gone so wine o'clock started early for me today. Not that I can afford a cleaning lady, they're through "homecare". I'm using up my grey points early! Mind you, you girls probably drink finer wines whereas I have a cask, not cheapo' Berri Estates though. My current tipple is Banrock Station chardy. They only come in no more than a 2ltr cask. I usually have a glass to help wind down of an evening but at lunchtime'ish I fed madame and poured myself a glass. Preperation for the human tornado which is due to walk in the door any minute now. Just spoke with Tony, he and said tornado are at Macca's. Their little 'thing' after school.
Strewth, or is it 'struth'? Johnno's condition is a shock. I had hoped to have visited him by now but seems I won't get out there 'till September/October'ish. I'll be taking kids with me and not keen on the heat that Jess says they're already feeling. Bollocks! Also Johnno having the treatment for such a long time he might not feel up to the littlen's being around. Might have to get mum up here for a week??
Jess, I was going to call my cat the 'n' word, he's black, but my girlfriend said "NOOOO, you CAN'T call him THAT" so I called him "Nero" instead. That's black or dark in Italian. My first cat after dad passed was Wally or just Wall' from Footrot Flats. Greg named him. He had the same personality as "Horse" the cat in Footrot Flats. One wild wild cat there. Then there was Rastas and now it's Nero. Like all my cats this one tends to like his own company, only showing face to be fed.
Angelina is only just crawling, much to her own chargrin having been carried for 12 months she finds having to make her own way a bit much of an effort.
The cat is out from under my bed and he's sitting in his litter box. Not doing anything, just sitting there. Don't know if he's trying to telly me something, like "I can have more fun sitting in the can than I can have with this family".
Hokey brought his school photos home today. Just the same two pictures done over and over again and a class photo. He is the only one laid back with his feet out in front, real casual. A few of the kids in his class are retreads but it's good because he learns to be tolerant and unbiased (hopefully). I'll load the photot's when I can. His best mate is Michael, on his right in class photo and he is a very timid little bloke but around Hokey he comes right out of his shell.
Well my boys are home and I've had my smoothie and have a bath ready so I'll attempt to get them through early and hopefully an early night, yeah right!!

hi, its jess, aunty cec just called around to see if could post this on the blog to save a lot of phone calls...
" We drove John to Dubbo on Thrusday 9th, for an appointment with doctors in the oncology dept. We attended in all discussions with social welfare and two Drs.
The first I.V chemo session is on Thurs 9th at 9.30 am, this treatment is to continue once every two weeks for six months. first session of chemo will take 3 hours, following sessions will be 2hrs. In between chemo tablets are to be taken twice a day. Blood tests are to be taken before each chemo. We will have to go to dubbo on the afternoon of the 8th, blood test is at 8am on the 9th. Ray cannot drive in the dark, so a motel for the night. Medication daily to help stop or relive Nausea, side effects, gastric, John still has this from the surgery. A rash could occur on face arms and torso. Naucious, fatigue, loss of appetite. Weight is recorded each fortnight. check ups will have to continue long in to the future. Most costs are covered by medi-care, except for chemicals for chemo, not sure of pathology for blood, Know more next week.

" We drove John to Dubbo on Thrusday 9th, for an appointment with doctors in the oncology dept. We attended in all discussions with social welfare and two Drs.
The first I.V chemo session is on Thurs 9th at 9.30 am, this treatment is to continue once every two weeks for six months. first session of chemo will take 3 hours, following sessions will be 2hrs. In between chemo tablets are to be taken twice a day. Blood tests are to be taken before each chemo. We will have to go to dubbo on the afternoon of the 8th, blood test is at 8am on the 9th. Ray cannot drive in the dark, so a motel for the night. Medication daily to help stop or relive Nausea, side effects, gastric, John still has this from the surgery. A rash could occur on face arms and torso. Naucious, fatigue, loss of appetite. Weight is recorded each fortnight. check ups will have to continue long in to the future. Most costs are covered by medi-care, except for chemicals for chemo, not sure of pathology for blood, Know more next week.

We're back..
Hope every one is well, Melissa is laying on the bed next to me with our cat, so here iam writting on behalf of both of us, hopefully giving you all an update on things out here...
Our computer has been down for the last couple of days..
Lissa has got her Trail exams this week, her last one was today, PDHPE hardest one of the lot apparently. i remember when i did mine was only just over 2 and 1/2 years ago, still feels like yesterday though. Lissa just said that she's has plans on visiting the "overseas Mob" when she finishes school.
Had a good day at work, did an exam for my Veterinary Nursing course. The vet Mary Jane, we call her "Miss Jane" she has the most adorable little girl Ashlyn she's almost 8 months old, so iam a built in Baby sitter as well, which i love makes the job twice as fun, so i guess you could call my job description Vet Nurse/Baby sitter.
Lissa goes for her P's next week, that's bound to be dangerous hahaha.. No she's an ok driver, hopefully she'll get them.
I Just went picked Kelly up from school, Meg, she come out and informs us when you have emailed her. she loves it. We speak to Jacob heaps, Hes a good kid. We miss him.
Mum's driving the school bus to Walgett for an Agriculture Expo, so its just us girls at home. Dads out bush somewhere... Mum goes around to see Johno a fair bit helps him out. we see cec and ray a fair bit as well.
its getting hot again, we never get much of a winter out her.
The local footy is on tomorrow the boys are playing in pink to fundraise for cancer. should be a good game.
Louth Races are also this weekend, we dont know if we're going out or not, i think i may have to work out there to help out with the Vet Checks on the horses.

Our zoo of animals are all doing well, still have our poor old horse in town, the 4 dogs are running around, 2 in which are dads really good working dogs, he was out mustering the other day and one of the younger stockman offered dad $2000 for one of our dogs, but dad being dad loves his dogs, and thought the dog is better off staying with him. the Cat, well on his birth certificate his name is "wally" but he answers to multiple names ranging from sexy legs and wallerina to niggah. He's best mates with the horse and we know exactly where to look if ever he his missing, he'll be down with with the horse possibly sleeping on his back. I have a pedigree chocolate border collie on the way, she'll cost me thousands, dad doesnt know about her yet, she'll be born around xmas so i shall have to inform dad soon lol.
Lissa has her year 12 formal coming up and she really wants aunty Meg to be here for it. the dress hunt is still on, i still think she should have got mum to make one, mum is such a good dress maker, but she'd never admit to it.
any way we had better go, got jobs to do...

Hi All, hows things, great to hear from the kids, their letters are great! Nice to meet you Michaela, your life seems full and very active and lots of fun, how old are you? I'm sure you will get to Australia one day in the future, and you will love it ! Our beaches are to die for. say hi to your Mum and dad and family. i know your Mum.
HI! little precious byrdie, thanks for the special mention,Ha! Your trip away to the snow sounded great! I have never skied, been in the snow but never skied, always regretted that as I have, 'rode the rapids' (look out!) water skied (the darling) once, and fell off.' hot aired balloon' over "the Alice springs', snorkled the great barrief reef', oceaned along side the 'dolphins, rivered along side the crocodile's in the territory, helicopted over our beautiful southcoast-line, among other exciting things...but 'best of all was "Clay-pan ski ing ' out at bourke on the clay-pan dirt, sitting on a up-turned car bonnet, with a rope attached to bonnet and then to a car!!! but they pulled the 'cushion from under me (the car bonnet had holes in it) and they took me over the burrs, bindy's cat-heads!!!!! I had a very sore bum, but loved it. Some of the really good ones used to clay-pan ski on a "Forky Stick' attached to a rope and the car pulling it!! they were cool. Well ther's a little story on my little adventures! I could tell you about chase ing "Roos" and "Drag racing Ken's car in the bush but I better not go there! Ha. Lucky i have memories.
Sara, I didn't get back to you, as i know you would know ken rang Tom and its as you said she's not moving until Mark's stuff is settled, I think he is organising an Auction on it , We'll keep on it. be in touch soon. Was great chatting the other day.
Meg, ha now everyone 's calling you butcher bird, cute. Sounds like marcus is full on in hoilday mood, must be the sea-air after the country aye, hopefully he will settle down to his school work soon. he's a good kid. I will email Jacob again soon and see how he is. Lemon tree passage sounds like a little fishing village? i can't remember if we went there, we have been all around it. Karen, dylan all fine, yea plenty of the s/v chips for him. You should see 'that little brooch lizard you had on your top! its grown about 5 times that size now, I got such a shock how fast it had grown. Is Greg back from Bourke yet. He goes there a lot, doesn't he, can't keep the boy out of the bush!
Mona, hows the house coming along? sounds like a big job, lucky you, having someone so clever like Bill to do most of it himself. Sounds like you need a nother little dog yourself again...you seem to get so much joy out of them, they certainly would be loved and happy. My Mutts are driving me crazy at the moment..a bit our fault too tho, we should walk them more.hope all is well with you.

I lOVE THE SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey every one this is Brydie Egan writing. Now this blog is mostly intended for the canadians, and a special one to Bernice (thougth you would love that) any way back to my story i have recently got back from the snow from a school trip, and oh my did i have the best time ever first of all we went to sydney boring but then we hit the ski field and boy was it a big change for me but change i could handle. the snow was fresh and was it beautiful very hot but i loved it, we had the best snow (in canberra) it had been the highest snow fall since 17 years, hey thats pretty lucky for all us australians. any way the first day i spent half the day on my bottom hahah ouch! any way as the as the day progressed i got better and could not wait to go and begin to ski the next day. the second day way the best i dont think i fell over but shhhhhh! (dont include the falling off the t bar twice on the same run) i skied till i dropped literally. although i wasnt ready for the next day it was blizard conditions but nothing stopped me i still strived on but soon i got so numb i could barely move my jaw, noting stopped us young ones so we ended our experience with one massive snow fight and ouch did that hurt. one thing that i promised that i would do was to prove that if you could roll a snow ball down a hill it would get bigger and it sure did get bigger soon enough it was so big three people tried to push it and succeded to fail. and the time had come the time every one had dreaded home time, it was great to see my family agian but i cant wait to see snow agian.

Hi every one,
One very tired mother writing here. I have sick children. I haven't had sick children since they were little. I spent this morning in casualty after being up all night with Sebastian. My big tall gentle giant was a very sick boy last night he just crashed and spent the night vomitting and I spent the night by his side. Typical male though, you know when they are sick (they don't cope very well ) Just like his father in that department. He ended up on a drip in the morning he still is not very well however they let me bring him home. so I wasn't at work today, had to go in tonight though as debating began tonight. None of my children were debating as they are sick Brydie is still sick from the snow. So please God every one will sleep tonight. Say a few prayers for him he has his big chemistry exam on Friday.
I hopped on today and thought I would indulge in a little blogging before I crash.
Auntie Cook popped into Patrick last week and she is well (she doesn't come and see me always pops in to him !!!!) No I don't mind I think it is lovely and it is easy to pop in to his work as it is very central he really enjoys Cookie and Danny. (So do I)
Mum and dad are well and so is Stewart. Talking to him last night he is such a crack up he was in fine form. Organising the 25th Bernice very excited. Asha's birthday that weekend. spoke to Lisa on Sunday around wine a clock had a great catch up both of us having a drink over the phone!!!
Sara so good to hear from you I am so glad that you are back. And Butcher bird what in the dickens are you doing up at those hours???? Tell me Meg what grade is Marcus in? I don't think they make cusianair rods any more I think that is something of our era. If you give me your email address I will send the name of some good resources. (Not that I am the maths expert however, I have ready access to those sort of things.) I might go and have a look in one of the old store rooms at school and see if there are some there for you. You never know what you find, the old nuns never threw anything out.
Auntie Mona can you send me your email address I was telling Lisa I sent a really indulging email about the big girls to Auntie Kell and she said did you send Auntie Mona one so I would love your email.
P.S Bernice did you get my invitation? Auntie Kell couldn't open hers Lisa did.

I have a meeting in Lismore tomorrow after school and my year 12's have finished their English and Religion papers so I have one lot of mega marking to do. It is a little bit like the ironing it just doesn't go away!!!!!!

Hi all, as usual its nearly midnight, Ive just answered an email from my little mate Kelly Tully.I rambled on a bit and that chewed up a bit of time so precious it is and never enough hours in the day.Mum always said that and I can understand what she meant.Then had a read through all the blogs to catch up.Now Bernice you can laugh all you like but the reality of the matter is YES I do have to stand on a crate,no kidding.I had a chuckle when I read that.I have to stand on one when I link the sausages or my arms ache too much reaching up and over and hanging on to the big rope of meat. One counter top is way over my head and I had to remove all the advertising paraphanalia from to top. I was having to peek up through the bits and pieces to see the folks, I think they thought I was hiding from them.The serving counter is ok no trouble there.Top shelf of display cabinet behind the serving counter is a bit tricky at times,Ive envisioned a tray of cutlets covering my head but it hasnt happened yet.Greg came over today to get my ute, he is bringing over a bed-double one I had in Crookwell for Marcus to use and the old tv I had in the kitchen.He is going to take the old girl to Bourke for a visit, I just hope she comes back.His ute wouldnt make the trip he said.Marcus wants to go out with him for a run and catch up with Kelly but I dont know about that.He is not putting much effort into his school work and I am going to have to come down hard on him.Kenny he is still using his fingers to add and multiply!!I pulled out Dads old scrabble board tonight the one with the wooden letters and started to play with Marcus.His initial comment was I dont know how to play that.Well boyo you wont be going to bed until you do.Ive left out game set up so it can be an ongoing thing.Have packed the playstation away and it is locked in my office.Pulled out the times table wall chart and a book to read.The 3 R's for this boy Im afraid, back to the good old basics.He needs it. I would love to get hold of the queisineer rods (? spelling on that one) we had as kids, do you remember them Lisa? Jane? and how would I get hold of some.?

The dolphins havnt been back for a few days now,the old timers tell me they have chased all the black fish and have moved on but not far away.Greg said when he went surfing dolphins were surfing the waves beside his mate Tim how awsome would that be.Anyway its way past the witching hour so I had better hit the sack.Dylan I think of you mate and your little meercat ways look after Kenny and Bernice for me!!!!Yeah right. I bet the S&V chips are stocked up in the cupboard for you.Hows soccer and Nippers.Hello to Jake too and your Mum and Dad.

Dear Diary 5/8/07 3rd attempt!
Well, it's been a while but I'm still here, in fact, I log on every day. In my head that is. I have poured out my thoughts like I won't say what but doing it as often as I have in my head I don't really feel like doing the actual 'finger work' now! Never mind. Today is special, I am on the computer AND the internet although I have some processes running in the background, pc and home that are slowing things a little.
I went to church alone this morning. It was great but there's a price to pay for the peace and that is coming home to the mess that I know will be there to greet me. Today is was cup cake mess. Or for we Aussies "patty cakes". Anyone notice how you can't find normal patty cake tins anymore? They're either Muffin tins or Mini, chocolate sized tins. Tony doesn't uderstand patty cakes so calls them cup cakes. The kids were still in jammies at high noon and were covered in chocolate cake mix. Still are, why bother changing if we're not going out? Tony had put our little princess down 5 minutes before I arrived home and had gone to lay down himself as he was having his usual 'low' (probably around the 12.0 mark on th bsl scale). This he did, leaving the four year old to watch tv whilest there were still two tins of patty cakes sitting atop the stove. Oh the crumbs, in addition to that a packet of Jatz squashed under the coffee table. I just walked to the kitchen and said to Tony "you have a mess to clean up in there" and left it. I don't let stuff like that bother me too much anymore, mum stresses when she's here. I used to let Brucie in and just say to him "clean up". He'd run straight through the house to the littered floor and eat it up. Getting a bit picky in his old age and ciphering out the fruit and veg' from whatever mess there may be.
For a good compost, just add dirt and turn regularly!
Anyway we've aquired a cat by deception so to avoid a death in the family we keep Brucie out. Puss has ventured onto the back patio but doesn't like the look he gets from Bruce so stays well inside. Brucie is just biding his time....
Hi Michaila, great to hear from you. I haven't had the time to read back on all I've missed, only this page and that I have 'scanned' by e-reading. I would love to go over to Canada and see the beautiful landscapes in autom. I always picture it like on the rug Nan had over the lounge. I have the rug and when/if we ever get a home of our own I will get it hung properly with the wooded top and bottom.

I vaguely recall telling him where the cereal was but thank you Lord, Tony got up and tended to him. My cuppa arrived soon thereafter and so I bit the bullet and forced my eyes to stay open. It's 3:14pm and I'm still fighting sleep.In about 5 hours when I'll be wanting everyone to be asleep I'll probably be wide awake.
A couple of weeks ago, while mum was still here, Tony had gone to the wreckers one morning to get some 'parts' for work. I always anticipate a phone call when he goes to the wreckers. I got one. He told me he'd just bought me a little Ford Capri convertable for $500 bucks. I was surprised when it was dropped off, it was very neat and tidy looking. He had it to the car wash and took it up to the yard to tidy it up underneath ready for rego'. I took it for a spin for the first time to get some groceries last Sunday. Just as I was pulling in to the Coles carpark I passed Lilli, my old mate from church. I did a lap and pulled in behind her son and waited for them to pull out. She said to me this morning how "great" I looked in my "spunky little car". God bless her she is precious. I drove it to church today and went over to Kogorah yesterday, just for a drive. Hasn't been serviced yet and Tony's hoping to do that tomorrow but it drives great and I love it. He will never have to worry about me getting a speed ticket in that. I checked my rear vision mirror and saw cars banked up behind me so I checked my speedo and was only doing 40! So low to the ground I thought I was going faster!
Been chilly here today, I have on my fur coat, courtasy of St Vinnies at Crookwell. That's the only thing I'll miss about that town, the fantastic shopping at St Vincent DePaul!
Oh, my cat by deception. I took Boo Boo (Bianca) up to my girlfriends place near Morisset to have her groom her for me. That mongeral Gizmo chews on her to try to bring her in to season but of course she's desexed so it aint happnin'. Relly had a cat which I wasn't aware of. He was jett black. I said what a nice cat he was and she asked "do you want him"? "Yeah, I've been wanting a cat". While clipping Boo's matted hair off Rell' pointed out the pet carry cage that I could have for Boo to sleep in so she can stay inside, away from Gizmo. It will also be used to transport the cat she indicated. The day went well, Boo looked great and all the way home Hokey was talking about "Pussy cat in the back". I kept saying "No, he's back at Aunty Rell's". Boo sat in the front and slept all the way. Well after we arrived home I went to get the carry cage out of the car for Boo and there was a bloody cat in it! Anyway, I could only keep Boo inside for so long before she did the bolt out the back away from Giancarlo so Nero (puss) sleeps in the cage. He's pretty good considering he's an adult male (desexed). He uses his litter box and just likes to be company, unfortunately that also means being chased by Hokey but if he ever tires of it the front door is often open...
I would sooner mum go to be with Greg than alone. If she gets a place alone she'll lock herself in and become 'hermit'ish' whereas with Greg she would always be exposed to company while still being alone. Greg starts his new job tomorrow and will be staying over at Singleton on working days, going home for days off. Mum would be in her element having Greg to care for and a house and yard to keep organised.
I hear Madame cooee'ing so I'd best go save the day. She started to crawl two days ago. Had to happen sooner or later. Now Hokey is asking daddy to put her "upside down". Hokey loved to be tossed over when he was a baby but she's not overly fussed. Alright if he keeps a hold of her feet when she lands but not if he leaves her to get up alone.

Well, it's been a while but I'm still here, in fact, I log on every day. In my head that is. I have poured out my thoughts like I won't say what but doing it as often as I have in my head I don't really feel like doing the actual 'finger work' now! Never mind. Today is special, I am on the computer AND the internet although I have some processes running in the background, pc and home that are slowing things a little.

Hello all my grandmas' relatives!! This is Michaila.
I'm in Pincher Creek with the family right now. We're on our way to Oregon. Today we will try to make it to Spokane and reach Oceanside, Oregon tomorrow.
We have a new puppy named Reno. He's a 4-month-old German Shepherd. We got him on May 27, 2007. I've already houstrained him and taught him: "sit", "stay","stand", kennel", "jump", "wave", "shake-a-paw", "wait", "heel", "come", "gentle". We all love him very much.
On Tuesday, Mom and I left for Blue Bronna Wilderness Camp which is about three hours from Calgary. On the way there mom and i saw a black bear cub running cross the road. The camp was so much fun. We went hiking, rockclimbing, and horseback riding, and slept in tents. i rode a horse named Sheriff. We camped right beside the Old Man River.
I've met some of my cousins when i was little but i don't remember them now. I'm hoping to go to Austrailia very soon but i'm not sure when. Grandma often talks about you all. I am hoping to write more when we return back to Calgary in two weeks.

Grafton calling..
Greetings All,
Great to read all the news. Have been meaning to write, but like everyone else, battling time!
In a few weeks, I go around the state marking HSC Drama practical exams. That much I can say. Am not allowed to say when and where I go, but if I end up in anyones territory, I will call in and catch up ( I do not find out my itinerary until I start the training of new markers). I will be in Sydney, and will catch up with Sara, that much I do know. Can say more and where I have been after the event, but not before. Will let you know. It is a great time for me, being with other Drama teachers as there is usually only one in a school. The only down side is missing Ronny when I am travelling. Huge thank you to Belinda who fixed up the blog entry for me, many, many thanks.
Last weekend I played 6 games of hockey - and if you think that sounds silly - it is!! Was very slow on Monday and Tuesday - once I got the muscles working! Played in a half state vetrans hockey carnival, which was fortunately held in Grafton. Back to the regular comp now, only one game to play today, will be easy in comparison.
We had three dogs for a week (corgie, Sydney terrior and something else- ugly, dumb but loveable) and we had a great time with them. Ronny played with them all the time - but they were not allowed upstairs! we miss them now .
had a busy week entertaining. Tuesday night had Ronny's brother, partner and mother stay, did the full dinner party thing. Wednesday night had a friend over, a little more casual dining that night. Last night we had a few friends over and had a fire out the back . It was all great fun, but we are looking forward to entertaining ourselves tonight - alone!
It was an awesome day yesterday here, so straight after work Ronny and I put the boat in the water, few beers in the esky and hooned around in the river, just because we could! It was a great way to blow the working week away!
Mum has my old computer, and she is still learning. Once she gets the hang of it, she will need to upgrade, then go on the net. At this stage, she still rings me when she loses the game off the screen! Working on it...

Great to read all the news. Have been meaning to write, but like everyone else, battling time!
In a few weeks, I go around the state marking HSC Drama practical exams. That much I can say. Am not allowed to say when and where I go, but if I end up in anyones territory, I will call in and catch up ( I do not find out my itinerary until I start the training of new markers). I will be in Sydney, and will catch up with Sara, that much I do know. Can say more and where I have been after the event, but not before. Will let you know. It is a great time for me, being with other Drama teachers as there is usually only one in a school. The only down side is missing Ronny when I am travelling. Huge thank you to Belinda who fixed up the blog entry for me, many, many thanks.
Last weekend I played 6 games of hockey - and if you think that sounds silly - it is!! Was very slow on Monday and Tuesday - once I got the muscles working! Played in a half state vetrans hockey carnival, which was fortunately held in Grafton. Back to the regular comp now, only one game to play today, will be easy in comparison.
We had three dogs for a week (corgie, Sydney terrior and something else- ugly, dumb but loveable) and we had a great time with them. Ronny played with them all the time - but they were not allowed upstairs! we miss them now .
had a busy week entertaining. Tuesday night had Ronny's brother, partner and mother stay, did the full dinner party thing. Wednesday night had a friend over, a little more casual dining that night. Last night we had a few friends over and had a fire out the back . It was all great fun, but we are looking forward to entertaining ourselves tonight - alone!
It was an awesome day yesterday here, so straight after work Ronny and I put the boat in the water, few beers in the esky and hooned around in the river, just because we could! It was a great way to blow the working week away!

Good afternoon all. Great to hear from you, Bernice, and thanks for the action for Tom. IF she goes up to Greg, I hope she gets a place of her own. She really wants one, and at her age (I know, for I am not far behind! As she herself said, we are all getting higher on the perch!!) I think she needs one. Jane good to hear you, too. Isn't this great, getting all the news and all getting the same. I give Lyn thanks on a regular basis!

I talked to John again a day or so ago. He is doing OK and Cec and Ray are going to stay with him and drive and generally care for him. Thank god for Cec and Ray!
I may have to finish this in a hurry, as Bill is doing some work out in the laundry and will need me to 'hold' after a while. We are getting ready to put new siding on the house and paint the trim. Bill is doing a few repair jobs before we start. It has been filthy hot this past week, and so we couldn't paint. Yesterday was nice and cool, so I took advantage of it and made our Christmas puddings. Dont make any, Kelly!! I have us covered.!! Made my own good old recipe, and also one of Scho's. We will see which is best, and go with it. Get Brandy for the sauce (Bill says the sauce is the best part of the pudding.....what does he know??)
Kell mentioned some time ago that my Gathering of Nations had come to an end. Junie is likely the only one who knows about it, she used to send me stuff to display. 20 years we celebrated it, and I was so glad it was to end....couldn't get volunteers...and we needed a LOT of volunteers. We worked for it all year, had our Gathering in July, then took August off, then back at preparing for the next one. When we had our closing ceremonies, the final one, we (the folk who had run it all those years) got all teary eyed and sad. Done is done. On to the next challenge!!
Pilot Mound had our 2nd Annual Balloon Festival 2 weeks ago. Hot air baloon rides, food, entertainment, beer gardens, kids games, base ball tournament, and MY FAVOURITE, the ATV mud bog! What fun that was! We had our little Princess Rosie for the 10 days, so didn't get to all the things, it was too hot for her. Next year I hope to go on a baloon ride ($200-00) Couldn't afford it this year.
No news, so I had best go see how things are going . Love to all, and do keep us updated with happenings!!

Bernice is back/ 2nd letter
Bloody thing see i just wrote a few lines , saved it , got out and back in and do you think i can find where i saved it NO! so here i go again! Lucky i didn't write much.
well i got my car fixed he just rubbed it back with a magic cutting compound and didn't charge me either, great bloke. So all is well with my car.

Your festival and Rodeo's sound so great i love Rodeos and i miss them so much we do get them down here occasionally but none of my friends are into them and ken's never home but I did go by myself once I did feel a bit silly but only for five mins, I just can't yell or anything by myself so its not as enjoyable.
Kell what is the date of your reunion and is it in sydney? I think i have asked you this before don't remember if you answered or not . could you please let me know.

Mona, I have spoken with sara about moving Tom, she is trying a few things with her she feels the same as I and I also took it upon myself to write to Mark to fill him in on a few things and to let him know one of tom's concerns are his stuff there, so hopefully he will ring her and move things along a little too, i will speak to meg and greg also. as soon as i can. But i know they feel the same its mainly budging Tom.
Jane yes i did enjoy donna and family, the little fellow who was burnt is just adorable! he is not only the prettiest, but he is just so happy and loving and a good behaved little fellow, he's a gem. his skin will heal well too i think he may scar under the chin, but we'll see, he has peaches and cream skin and the most beautiful thick rusty red hair. the only trauma he is suffering so far is the bath or shower he gets very upset the doctors say its because thats the first place he was put after he was burnt. hopefully that will pass too, Its hard on the young parents, but they are coping well i am very proud of my nephew Kane.
Meg , Dylan still comes for a sleepover every friday night, he crys and puts on an act if he can't come over , even when i had a house full, so he slept on the floor, for all those who don't know Dylan he is my friend Karen's son he is 10 yrs old he says i am his second mum he calls me aunty Nicee but ken and i treat him like the grand son we always wanted but never had. He is a joy! We spoil him, he is allowed to do what ever he wants! Ha! even things i would never normally let and still don't let other children do, but he can do what ever he wants, Ha! we love him, but we get twofold joy back from him. people say he has been around me too long and is getting like me, Ahhh don't know if thats a good thing or bad. He's a good boy. he is great with our dogs, runs them ragged so quietens them down a bit .
I was just talking to Sara she has her computer up and running and she is well and kids, tony's a bit off she said but anyway she can tell you all her news as she said she will be back on the Blog as soon as she can, maybe even tonight she said.
I also emailed Paula Payton and asked her to get on the Blog and let us know her news, I think Bob and trish are either up there with her now or on their way up there?
Its very cold here today and looks like rain, i bet its even colder in Crookwell it always is when its cold here.

Sara is incredible how she manages, most of the family have not seen her since her stroke and just don't realize her handicapp! she only has the use of one arm and more or less one leg, poor baby, doesn't stop her tho, she drives ,types, dresses kids etc etc as good if not better then most of us, sorry for talking about you on the blog Sara, but just so the family can understand a little bit more how hard it is for you, i know you would never say> Hope you are back on line soon. No meg things are not quiet here, Rusty (our pup) he's like a big horse! still is chewing everything in site, barking mad and fighting with kellie, and nearly knocks me over the big lump every time i go outside! believe it or not he does have a nice nature tho, a bit like me naughty, full on, runs head on first into everything, wants attention, but you can't help but love him !!! Ha! ( anyone want a dog?)

Yesterday, being the old rev-head that i am i put this performance liquid in my car, supposed to be you beaut for petrol consumption and so forth,( i think it is ) anyway i accidently spilled some down my car , i washed it off imediatly as i had read it can bite in, but alas too late the mongrel stained it yellow, it must work quick on the paint , so i polished it but to no avail, so i cried then i swore really loud, and then got scared to have to tell ken as i thought he would think i was careless, which i wasn't! then i rang my mate the panel beater, he said to bring it down and he will have a look at it. Oh ken was ok about it, I think he felt sorry for me i felt so bad. anyway the moral to this whole saga is i had better get off here and take my car down and see if he can do something with it. Or I will be in trouble with Ken. Part 2 next letter.
I haven't been on here, because my computer chucked it in, i took it down and there was a bit of dust on the mother-board, so its back up and running fine now. My clothes-dryer chucked it in too!! It was only 20 years old too, no kidding! So we went out and bought another one (can't live without my clothes dryer. We were so lucky The good guys" were having a big sale and we got a $100.00 off the best price, we rang around a few shops first, so we were lucky.

Hi all,Jane I can just imagine you in the interview and your laundry chute!!!What, do you mean to tell me that you dont have someone do the laundry for you!!Guess what, I have a dishwasher here in this unit,it looks good but I have never used one and there are no directions for use,Im more comfortale with using Gods dishwashers even though they are rough and cracked a bit from overuse.Karen,Bernices friend ( a real treasure) gave me some nutrimetics hand cream and apricot oil stuff I think its called that.That really helps the old hands,mine are getting to be like Mum's.Now dont worry about Sari, she is ok and dealing with lifes dramas associated with her two younguns, and Tony isn't well.So she has her hands full at the moment.Also she is having MAJOR computer problems and has by now probably tossed the thing out onto the road,believe me she might only have one arm in use but that girl is amazing with what she can do.Who else can tie up a balloon with one hand or hang washing out!!!!!try it sometime.

Hi just a quick note,
I am waiting for Brydie to come home from the snow. She has been in Sydney and Canberra this week on a school excursion. They flew down and hired a bus from Sydney to take them down to the snow. I dropped her off on Sat Morn very early at the airport. I have never wanted to go on a school excursion as much as this one (I hate excursions I feel that I have done my turn of them) but this one looked so much fun. Bridie wasn't too impressed!!! She has a great time and yesterday it was actually snowing and blizzarding. Very cold though. She loved the skiing ( I thought she would as she is quite sporty) Her words to me the other night were "Canada here I come".
Grace has a piano exam tomorrow (so every one say a little prayer for her). She doesn't worry too much about it. I have only had 2 at home this week and it is very strange. I always feel as though something is missing.
It is very dry here at the moment and we have had a lot of Bush fires which is quite unusual for this time of the year.
Meg I am pleased that you are in your new home. keep those sausages up.

Very busy at the moment preparing Yr. 12 for their trials, their stress levels are high Sebastian is busy preparing himself for his chemistry exam which is next Friday. however he has to miss days of school next week as We have the World Youth Day cross in our diocese this week and it arrives at Byron Bay on Monday so all of our Yrs 11 and 10 have to go to Byron Bay Monday. Tuesday it is in Murwillumbah (probably on the news) Sebastian has to be at Byron at 5.am for a sunrise service as he is a part of a team that is going to India in October on a "spiritual immersion". Actually it is to have a look at Christianity in India.(Interesting fact Over a billion people in India only 2% of the population are Christian which means 20 million Christians - more than Australia). So Sebastian is off to India as part of the world Youth day movement. However he is not too impressed missing time off school 3 days before his big exam.
We have had photographer's at our house for the past week. The builder entered our house in some housing Industry awards ( for renovations) and it has made it to the next round of finals. so the photographer's have been busy. Some people came and interviewed Patrick and I on Sunday it was very funny because they kept asking us what was the best part of the house (and you know me I didn't know where to stop) I was truthful and told them the Laundry chute and the toilets!!!! They did not think that was appropriate I said it in a joking manner (even though I
really mean it my laundry chute is the best thing!
Any way I am really prattling on love to all I really hope that I have got this one right. Can someone tell me how to get on to flicka!!

I am waiting for Brydie to come home from the snow. She has been in Sydney and Canberra this week on a school excursion. They flew down and hired a bus from Sydney to take them down to the snow. I dropped her off on Sat Morn very early at the airport. I have never wanted to go on a school excursion as much as this one (I hate excursions I feel that I have done my turn of them) but this one looked so much fun. Bridie wasn't too impressed!!! She has a great time and yesterday it was actually snowing and blizzarding. Very cold though. She loved the skiing ( I thought she would as she is quite sporty) Her words to me the other night were "Canada here I come".
Grace has a piano exam tomorrow (so every one say a little prayer for her). She doesn't worry too much about it. I have only had 2 at home this week and it is very strange. I always feel as though something is missing.
It is very dry here at the moment and we have had a lot of Bush fires which is quite unusual for this time of the year.
Meg I am pleased that you are in your new home. keep those sausages up.

Very busy at the moment preparing Yr. 12 for their trials, their stress levels are high Sebastian is busy preparing himself for his chemistry exam which is next Friday. however he has to miss days of school next week as We have the World Youth Day cross in our diocese this week and it arrives at Byron Bay on Monday so all of our Yrs 11 and 10 have to go to Byron Bay Monday. Tuesday it is in Murwillumbah (probably on the news) Sebastian has to be at Byron at 5.am for a sunrise service as he is a part of a team that is going to India in October on a "spiritual immersion". Actually it is to have a look at Christianity in India.(Interesting fact Over a billion people in India only 2% of the population are Christian which means 20 million Christians - more than Australia). So Sebastian is off to India as part of the world Youth day movement. However he is not too impressed missing time off school 3 days before his big exam.
We have had photographer's at our house for the past week. The builder entered our house in some housing Industry awards ( for renovations) and it has made it to the next round of finals. so the photographer's have been busy. Some people came and interviewed Patrick and I on Sunday it was very funny because they kept asking us what was the best part of the house (and you know me I didn't know where to stop) I was truthful and told them the Laundry chute and the toilets!!!! They did not think that was appropriate I said it in a joking manner (even though I
really mean it my laundry chute is the best thing!
Any way I am really prattling on love to all I really hope that I have got this one right. Can someone tell me how to get on to flicka!!

Butcherbird is in the nest
A quick good morning all.Yes we finally have a nest to go home to.Moved in yesterday on the horses birthday.Its virtually across the street from the butcher shop.A 3 bedroom townhouse with plenty of living space.Two bedrooms upstairs with living/dining/kitchen/bathroom/seperate toilet.Downstairs has a large foyer entrance laundry/second toilet/garage with internal access.Just great.Have a mess everywhere of course with all the unpacking but it will come together soon.There is also balconies out the front and the back with a frontyard courtyard.No more travelling from Anna Bay at Gregs,sleep in a bit for me a lot for Marcus.Marcus is not too well at the moment, he has a bit of a chest infection.I think he caught it from Garrys nephew Luke who has been sick for weeks with this bug.Ive kept Marcus home from school today to help me.Mind you he has just grabbed the fishing rod and has gone off to try his luck.I hear from Jacob weekly,he has settled in nicely with his Dad and is enjoying his studies at Uni tech.Something to do with computers so of course he would be happy.I spoke with Mum this morning,she is still in freezing Crookwell and I said to her that she had to get out.She said to where!!!I told her she should come up here to Raymond Terrace where Aunty June is.I think she would be happier and of course a lot warmer.But you all know Mum, she wont do anything unless she absolutely wants too.I cant do anymore at this stage.There is the option that she takes Greg up on his offer to move in there which I think she should.She would like it and its close to the shops to walk.Greg and a lot of other got the sack from the mine that he was working at and had to travel over an hour to get to work.He has had an interview at another mine but it is further away and means he will have to board in Singleton again if he gets the job.If that is the case Mum should sell all her stuff and move in and look after Gregs Place.Sara + co have a great weekend spot to come and visit with Mum and it would all be hunky dory. Just keep sending up those prayers all.I have spoken with Johno and he is ok I find its better to ring him at night,more chance of getting on to him.Well the butcherbird had better get to it and run some mince,I can link the sausages now Kenny and do a damn good job but they are still all different sizes.Ill get it eventually.We are making chilli hot shots-sausages and cant keep them up to the folks.A good beer sausage kenny.Gotta go love to all

P. Creek checking in Again!!
The Little bloke was real fast off the block, didn't even give me time to say "G'day", & it was "posted" already.
As 'Phee would say "No matter". No news, but I do miss you Sara, where are you?? I talked to Tom a few days ago, VERY cold in Crookwell. I tried to ring John a few times, but no answer, & first thing in the morning too. If you read this Jess, do you know if all is well with John? I am a bit concerned. I had a long chat with Stewart too. He seems happy. They need rain of course. Stu
says he can't believe the difference in his legs now, since the surgery. Good decision.
I have probably told you all that Peters' last house did sell, ( Oh!! happy days!!) I still havn't told him but as it is rhe end of the month, he will be collecting rent, & I am sure a renter will say something. I want someone to be in the vicinity when I spill the
beans, just incase the volcano erupts. The take over is Nov. 1st., but I will be in Oz. then. lawyer, realty office, & bank will all take care of final details. It is a relief to have it gone. Mo will agree, it was a miracle that anyone would buy it, as it is a big, ugly
square - box type of building, with NOTHING around to give it any character. Good riddence!!
What news?? It is good hearing from Bernice & Jane more often. Keep it up ladies, as we all do like to get your news. Perer & I
were in Calgary a week or so ago, (perhaps I have told you this??) for Graysons B'day . we did enjoy seeing the babes, & Charlottes' children, no longer babes of course. Charlotte & Michaila have been on a "mother - daughter" wilderness camp. Michaila had just returned from Saskatchewan, having spent 9 days with friends "camping." New motor home they were christening. Josh & Mike had already been on a father - son trip the week before. We expect them all down on Friday, just overnight, on their way to Oregon for 2 weeks at the beach. Everyone will be back to school, & work, at the end of this month,
so have to make the best of the bit of summer that we get.
We have "Heritage Days" here all week-end. They do the 1800s farming demonstrations. The whole harvest thing, horses & wagons. Baleing, ditto. Rope making. The earliest machines of the day on parade. Horse pulls, working dogs. The whole schaboodle. Very popular, with people coming from miles around. I work Sat. 10 - 2pm. Have the rest of the weekend "free", just to enjoy the fruits of THEIR labour!!
Weekend of 17th, 18th, & 19th is our fair & rodeo, with a parade on Saturday. I just have to get judges for the parade floats,
then have that weekend to enjoy!! All this free time is going to my head!!
Jane, what uni is Asha at? Where is Anthea? They are just 10 or so, how can they be finishing university??
Meg, what is happening to Tom? Will she stay in Crookwell? is she O. K? She says she is, but thats Tom!!

Kates' family all well. Alex away at church camp. Dan & Drew have each been already. Dougs' sister is in P. C. visiting their mother for a few days, then I think we are taking her & her 16yr. old daughter down to Kates' for the rest of August. Laura LOVES the horses, as they live in Ottawa. Not very "horsey" country!! Doug busy as usual. He just bought 2 "sea doos", as
they are quite close to several lakes, & the childa love them.
Steve was working on the spare bedroom (?? 2009!!!), but I think he has had to leave it awhile, to catch up on other things.
He has actually golfed a few times! He, like Doug & the boys, just loves to golf, but no time. Kate is always "gunna", when
she gets spare time. She is quite good, but no practice for a couple of years.
Church garden VERY unhappy. I have not spent as much time this past couple of weeks. On the 'phone trying to get judges, & people to enter floats. No one is home this time of year, golf, camping, lake, fishing. Whatever. But NOT home . Ringing can be very frustrating, and VERY time-consuming.
