Pilot Mound signing in

Morning all. I have spent over an hour trying to log on to the blog. Is anyone else having the same trouble? They tell me its a new look, easier to manage! ROT!! I want the old one back! I don't know how to tell them, and when I yell at them they don't respond!
No news. A bit of snow last night but it has melted now, and we are glad. I am praying, for strictly selfish reasons, for a blizzard on 15,16,17th. So if any of you are praying people, just mention my name and blizzard, the Lord will know what you mean!!
Kell phoned yesterday, just back in Pincher for an appointment then on her way back to White Fish. Kate was with her, doing the driving. Kell sounded OK. I think needing some time at home, but the kids want her with them now.
She says she can't remember what happened yesterday, writes everything down and forgets where the note is!!
.Bill and I may go over for a few days in March......depending on the weather, just to Pincher, stay with her for a week or so, so she can be at home. The kids get a break that way, they won't leave her alone, her health being what it is .
It has been cold all day, but no wind, so I have steaks out, seasoned and ready to BBQ. If it doesn't get too cold we will have wine on the deck while the meat cooks. I feel the cold more since I had the old  myalgia rheumatica, and when I get cold, can't get warm! So if we are out, I will be rugged up in coats and rugs, etc!!
Wednesday is Halloween.......Happy birthday, Bernice, and Happy Halloween, too!! I know you love it. Bill and I give the kids next door our treats to hand out, put a note on the door for the littlies to see, telling them "Go next door"
then we have fried chicken and wine for supper, in the dark. It is not my favourite time of the year!!
Put some peanuts out this afternoon for my squirrels. One was on the deck looking for water, but we had put all the water containers away before freeze up, so I hope the peanuts were Ok in place of H2O.
Just had to go and get my chickens. I get 12 from a farmer each year. Still have 3 from last year, but took 12 anyway. Bill loves it.
Best go. Time to start on supper. So till next time, IF I can ever get on!!
Much love to all and God bless. Mona

I'm still here 12/10

Hello family. I'm still about. I check the Blog from my phone but am still unable to successfully get a Post off on it.

All is well here. Bloody freezing today though with the unseasonal arctic blast blowing up from the south. I'm rugged up in a quilted jacket, as is the rest of Sydney I think. Frank has been laying in front of the heater. I'm tempted to join him but not before I vacuum the floors.

Aunty I don't know how you stay so busy all the time. I just want to slack off and sleep for a week :o/

Lisa, I loved your post and all the beautiful pictures. I'd so love to go camping but doubt we'll ever get out West to do it. Too far for Tony to travel, he's such a woos!

Bernice, Carol saw that you'd mentioned Dexter on here. She doesn't know login details which I will forward to her but she sent me details. I will paste them as follows:-

  • 8/10/12
Hi Sara. I noticed someone mentioned Dexter on the Payton blog. I don't know the password etc for that blog. Dexter has his own webpage, which includes a blog. We try to update the bog with a picture almost every day. He also has a facebook page. People could follow his progress through these or you could post some of his blog stuff on to the payton blog, if you thought people might be interested. He is doing pretty well. He has had four rounds of chemo. The last two have knocked him around a bit and he has needed more time to get back to being his cheeky self. We are really hopeful he will have the tumour cut out later this month. He will most likely need another couple of rounds of chemo after that. Lenice and Andrew are doing fairly well - tired, but ok. Lenice is now 24 weeks pregnant. Here are the links: blog - http://lovedexter.weebly.com/blog.html webpage - http://lovedexter.weebly.com/index.html and facebook - https://www.facebook.com/love.dexter.31
    Cheers. Carol

I may be grossly developmentally delayed (because of my cerebral palsy and prematurity).... But I'm learning how to bite! So far - mum's nose and cheek and dads pecks! And always their fingers! I...

Haven't heard from Mum for a couple of days so I will try calling her later. She seems to be doing ok up there. Aunty Cec and Uncle Ray came down to stay with her for a few days, they are so kind to do this for her and she thoroughly enjoys their visits.

Marcus has started a Boiler Maker apprenticeship out home which should be very good for him. Jacob is still working on the farm out there too.

Greg has been off work with a crook elbow, Tennis Elbow? I've had it myself and know how debilitating it can be. He started back this week though I think.

Our school holidays were good. We went up to visit with Mum. Took the kids fishing while we were there. Didn't catch a thing but the deed was done. Aunty Meg took the for a climb up her mountain, which they loved.  Took them to the movies and the beach before coming home.

I took them bush walking for 4 hours last week. It was a lovely afternoon although climbing up and down the hills just about did my hip in.

The next day I took them to the aquarium down at Darling Harbour in the city. That was another 4 hours of walking around. Hip is really aching now.

Then the day after I took them to an aquatic centre up at Hurstville. They were in the water for 4 hours there too.I got in for a while to try to loosen my hip  but eventually got out and did my crosswords while they played.

The last day of the hol's I took them to th movies again. Yes, a pretty full holiday they did have.

It's bucketing down outside at the moment. October and we're looking at starting the fire :/ Mind you we've been blessed as we've had free wood delivered to us all winter. The little Oriental blokes who do tree lopping etc trying to save money as it costs them a fortune to take the logs to the dump. They are charged by the tonne.

We have used heaps but still have about 3 or 4 tonne in the front yard. The kids cubby house, which the little toads never used, has been converted to a wood shed. It is finally being used...

The solar Inverter has carked itself and we're waiting on the service technician to come out and fix it. Placed the call over a week ago and still no word. I will have to call them again because when the sun does come out I want it to clock up those solar points. We had to pay $500 last bill and that was ON TOP of the $500 that we were already in credit for.

Well that's about it for me. I will try to put a couple of pictures up. Hope everyone else is well.

    XXXXX

Lisa and Ronny's Outback Adventures

 Hi All,
Just putting up a few photos for Aunty Mona. They are all back the front, but I guess it does not matter. I have deliberately chosen a lot of the wild life photos.
Firstly out trip. We had to go to Sydney for Ronny's nephew's 21st, and then from there we went west and went for a loop around NSW. Stopped when we felt like it, stayed in the Riverena a few days, then found ourselves in Wentworth at Johnno's. He and Vicky are very happy, Johnno goes fishing with Vicky's brother, and the creek is behind their place, and the Darling River is there too.  Then we went North from there, staying at Menindee Lakes, the went on to White Cliffs, Tilpa, Louth then Bourke. Had an overnight stay in Bourke, caught up with Melissa Tully who was there for the weekend (she is looking stunning!). Went to Nana's grave and checked out the old house etc. Next morning, we headed out to Lowe's 'River Block' and camped there for 4 days. It was magic! Simply awesome! We camped right next to the Darling river and Zappa had a ball too!  It was very hard to leave! From there we met some friends in Lightening Ridge for a night, then we headed to Lismore. Stayed with Ronny's brother, then spent the next day with Mum and Dad before heading home. It really was a brilliant trip!  Photos will tell a lot.
Dad has been unwell with the flu, and it really knocked him. He is still recovering, but he is very weak and gets tired easily. Mum is as awesome as ever.
Back to work tomorrow, but to keep spirits up, we are planning our next camp trip in 2 weekends! I have my big Drama night in 6 weeks, so my focus will be on that when at work.
If you have not received the invite to Mum's 80th, please let me know - that goes to everyone.
Otherwise, all well here.
love Lisa, Ronny and Zap.
Photos - above was a favourite position of Zappa's, just looking up and down the Darling River, where we camped on the 'River Block'. The wild goats would tease him from across the river! Did not capture all wildlife we saw, but we saw lots- roo's, emus, wild pigs, piglets, echidnas, snakes, foxes, rabbits, goannas, goats, and birds, birds and beautiful birds!

Zappa frightened the roos away - we would not let him chase them!
                                              Snake sunning itself
                                        Our camp.
                   Pretty obvious - echidna!

Not sure if this has been on the blog yet?  Aunty Wyn's plaque is
                                    there  with   grandfathers plaque.

                              Wedgetail Eagle
                          Obvious!

Heading from White Cliffs to Tilpa

                                 We were out there!!

                             Pelicans on Menindee Lake

                          Johnno, Vicky, Princess and I
The junction of the Murray River and the Darling River in Wentworth,
                              where J and V live.

 Cheers,
love Lisa

Second try. Last try.

Is anybody reading this? If not, it isn't worth my time trying to make a post.
This is my last try....the last one disappeared when I tried to spell check. Any spelling errors in this, tough!
I just came in from the deck. Reluctantly! Summer is about over but Bill and I don't give in easily, we hang on outside for as long as we can. Bill is over working at the smorg. My job was to phone all the women for desserts, salads and to cook turnips. I made two lemon merangue (is that how it is spelt? Egg whites whipped up with sugar?) pies this morning and Bill took them over to the hall.
Tomorrow we take his 93 yr. old to Winnipeg for a Dr.'s app. Tuesday is cook all day day. Wednesday is harvest the carrots for Winnipeg Harvest. Thats why the cook all day, I feed my harvesters when they finish bagging carrots!
Thursday we have a concert in the hall....The Air Force Band.....along with pipes! Have to make a dessert for that, then Friday I am getting out of town, away from phones  and door bells!  We might drive up to the park and go bear hunting. It is so beautiful outside with our trees getting dressed in autumn colours ready to drop thier leaves for winter. We cleaned up some of our pot plants yesterday and did the ones from the church. I wish Cook was here, I have taken mega cuttings in the hope of wintering them over to save a few $ in spring. She would know if they will survive!
Best go find some food. Bill isn't home yet, 7pm, so I suspect there isn't food left for the workers to eat, so I'll be ready with some for him. He went to work at 3 pm and they will have been running for the 4 or so hours!
Love to anyone who takes the time to read. God bless.  Mona
