Good morning all! How excited I was this am when I went to the blog to see "Ken here"!!! I quickly looked at the photos and scrolled on down to see what he had to say. NOTHING!! I thought I was going to get all the news and gossip, and nothing. Come on, Bro., write a wee note! But thanks for the great photos. That one of mum's must be old! Look at the size of the trees at the front......they grew so big they blocked the house from view!
We are just getting ready to go out to supper....Pizza and wine....so while Bill is cleaning up I thought I'd say a very unimportant words!
My bath room is ALMOST finished. Have to put the light fixture up, and the toilet roll holder to the wall and I think that is all. I am enjoying having my toilet at bedroom level again! Next is the laundry, the a new floor in this room and THEN I can go on with cleaning windows and important stuff like that! My computer guru had surgery to his shoulder last week and his arm is in a sling for 3 weeks. We had supper with him a few nights ago and got stuff from his garden. SOOOOOO many beautiful tomatoes that were going to go to waste, so I said "pick them and I will can them for you". Today I canned 16 beautiful pints of Romas. What lovely tomatoes to work with. So easy to peel and cut and jar. If ever I can for ourselves again it will be Romas. It has turned cool here these last few days and frost expected in a few nights. Summer went by so fast. Bill and I sit out on the deck long after frost though. Me rugged up in coats and gloves and blankets with a glass of cold wine! I hate it, I used not to feel the cold, but since the old rheumatica it really bothers me.
Best go, Bill is almost ready and I have to get Princess Rosie's frankfurt cut up and get her water bottle and blanket ready to go! More when there is news!
Love to all and God Bless. Mona

Pilot Mound checking in.
Good morning all. What a time I am having with this blog!! I try and try and it just won't work. Then after an hour and much swearing, up it comes "New Post" Click on and here I am! It really is hardly worth the time, I might just as well phone Sara and Bernice and be done with it. It is just about coffee break for Bill, so I will have to go soon anyway!
Bill is renovating our bathroom, doing tiles today. We have had a few funerals to conduct...each one takes about 3 days of preparation, so that has set us back with home stuff. I hope the plumber will be in tomorrow...no toilet upstairs for 3 days, then back to normal I hope. Will only be a few days of normal, because I want new hardwood flooring in the room where my sewing machines and computer are. Next year our deck has to be replaced, it really should be this year, but summer is almost over and we don't use it in winter....except for the odd evening and a glass of wine while wrapped in every coat and blanket we can find!!
We spent a few days with Kell a couple of weeks ago. Had a really good visit.
I think she is down with Kate just now, and Kate and Char are going to come and stay and help her "sort out" in a week or so.
I canned tomatoes this past week. Did 60 lbs, got 28 quarts. I told Bill this is the last year I am doing them. Still have about 20 jars from last year and it is hard work.....not manual work, just on the feet and MESSY!
Tomorrow I have to start on Christmas puddings. Make 28 qts. and about 25 pints, all for sale for our church. I am going to try to get some help with those, have to grate apples, carrotts and potatoes and once again, on the feet and MESSY! The old pressure canner gets heavier every year, too! And by the end of the day...and often before the end of the day, my back says "NO MORE"!! Best go and get the coffee on. May phone Cook when we have coffee...have to catch her at 6-30 am her time, or they are gone for the day!
I forgot to read the last couple of posts before I started this, so will catch up next time. Love to ant and all who read this. God Bless. Mona
