Hi there one and all
Arrived home at 11pm after doing a double shift at the end of the weeks roster. Very tired but happy with the new job at Toronto Private Hospital. Have caught up on the Blog finally. A great read over a cuppa I must say.
Well the Bourke trip was wonderful as usual, and I can add a heap more to what already has been said but will not go on about it too much. The storms were awesome, dont see them like that unless you are watching them out over the ocean. Lissa Marcus and I had a tonne of fun out quong dong hunting and unfortunately it was the end of the season but we managed to bag enough for me to get a fix. Mind you I had to wash the grubs out and their poo!! Waste not want not I say. Next year I will get out there and sit under the bloody tree and wait for them to ripen.
It was good to catch up with everyone again, and dont believe all you read. I wasnt swinging off a dishrag all the time, I had a good time too and everyone chipped in to help. Though I waspleased with myself for managing to cook 2 chooks and a turkey .Tully breezed through the kitchen and said Meg could you cook those hanging on the closeline for me for tea. This was at 5:30. I lead poor Pam Rossit to believe that I had just killed and plucked the things after I had just arrived from Anna Bay and was letting them set. The Killer was still tied up on the back lawn awaiting its fate. So Pam believed this. We all had a bit of a chuckle over that. But yes I did cook them and with a few helping hands the fouls were accompanied by chips on the barby and a lovely tossed salad and garlic bread. We all did well.
I saw Pheobe Gaffney and Fiona and her 2 children and Phillip Gaffney too. All well, Pheobe is off to Rome at the end of November. Probably to hold a service for the Pope knowing Phoeb.
Marcus and Greg have gone off surfing, well I think they have boards and dogs were gone when I got up. Macus has a couple of lobster traps in and has been getting a few. There is a beaut one in the freezer I saw last night. He has given the others to his diving mates!!!! They spear fish as well while they are out there diving for the lobsters. Well it is going to be a beaut day here and I have a load of washing to do so I have uniforms for next week.
Lin I Really dont know when I will have that weekend off. Like I said I will have to work around you if you let me know the plans. Bernice I will give you a ring at some time this weekend the roster is out until the 3rd of November and guess who is working the weekend of the 31. I will try to find someone to work it but dont like my chances because I fill some shifts that they cant find anyone to work. Toronto is full of Seventh Day Adventist and half of them work at the hospital and dont like to work on Saturdays or take it off reqularly as a standard request which the hospital has to honour if they can. So that is one reason why I work nearly every weekend.
Great for the pay packet but a killer for the social side of life. Anyway I will see what I can do.
Havn't heard from Sara for a week, but mum is still with her in Sydney. Hows it going Big Girl, tried to ring you on my break yesterday.
Bernice!!!! now the motorbike...... Kenny make sure she is in full leathers at all times to totally look the part and get a plaited hair extension to hang out the back of the helmet. I know you have always wanted a bike Kenny but I must say I am a bit surprised at the purchase. Please take care out on the roads, I feel sick everytime Greg gets on his Harley.
Toni are you back from Perth yet and how was it. I know that its been ages since we caught up but we have to organise something soon ok or it will be 2009 before we know it. Aunty June will get over to see you soon even if it is only for 5 min, that is when you arrive home. Mandy hello there how are you, missed Jenny when we were in Bourke as she had gone to Wagga to the girls, next time. Mandy why dont you print off the blog letters for Aunty Ces like Toni does, its a good idea, and she can start a book herself. Take care and I didnt get a chance to tell you how fantastic you looked at Aunty Junes 80th.
Could go on and on but have things to do and places to go and only 48 hours to do it all before I head back to Aunty Dots in Toronto and a full weeks work. The polyclinic director phoned me yesterday to tell me that they are now recruiting at Nelson Bay and they have processed my application so I might get a few shifts there hopefully.
Love to All Meg
