Anna Bay blow in

Hi all,
Just to clear up a few of the questions. Garry and I wont be travelling until the shop sells or the lease runs out. There is still 14 months left on the lease. Greg bought another house in Anna Bay up near the beach. Sonia has her own home in Salamander Bay. They will probably rent that one out. Mum will live here and Greg wanted Marcus to live with him. However he prefers to stay here that is if Mum is ok about it. I will still have the shed as my so called base. Unless Mum locks me out. I stay over at Lemon Tree some nights here some and the rest at Toronto. Marcus can hardly live out of the car as I do.Its only a little car!!!
When ever I do end up settling down somewhere of course Marcus will come with me. But at the moment things have to stay as is.
Marcus had a great time catching up with all his mates in Crookwell out camping in the freezing cold and motorbike riding. The boys are keen to have him go back next holidays. However he has to knuckle down to the books and start his job at Woolies packing shelves. Has AFL training Tue and Thur nights and plays on Friday nights. I have to some how swap a few shifts to take him to the games, Garry will take him to a few for me on the nights that I cant swap. I cant rely on the other parents to take him all the time.
I get Monday and Thursdays off usually, at times only Monday when they need someone to fill in on Thursdays if needed. That goes for this week. I wont get back here until Sunday night.
I have not done a thing about organising "MY PARTY"/ Payton reunion plan in secret for Mums 80th and will have to get a move along if it is to happen. Please give me an indication if its a viable prospect so I can get things started.
Got to go and have that shower and put my clothes in the dryer.
Aunty Ces mum is still at Saries, dont know when she will be home. Will let you know. Thank you for your lovely letters.
Way to go Uncle Bill and Aunt Mona, the quiet achievers yes I think I speak for all of us when I say how proud we all are of you. Thanks Aunty Kell for filling us in. I know Aunt Mona would play it down. Hello to all at Pilot Mound
Love Meg

April 26, 2009

Congratulations Mona and Bill

I have just read Kell's post and I too am proud of Mona and Bill. As well all know Mo want tell us and she will cry at the ceremony but then that's fine as it would not be her if she didn't. I have my special memories of Mona doing stuff for me and Bill taking on the dad part for me and runs around with me when I am in the states.
Thank you, I love you both and am very proud of all your efforts.
Love you Belinda

Hi from Canberra

Well not much happening in the capital! Hannah and I went to the Dawn Service at the War Memorial yesterday and even though it was raining there were over 30.000 people. It was a beautiful service with the Galah's squeaking in the background as they played Rivalee ( not sure of the spelling). Then of to breakie at Old Parliament house. Lauren is in Thailand and they had some sort of service there as well.

It is blowing a gale here and we are going to a party on Lake Burley Griffin, well may be not I think it will be cancelled or I hope it will. I have never been sea sick but I think this would make me.

ANZAC

Thinking of everyone on this special day. I am the only Aussie in town today, so we are getting together on 3rd of May to remember. Mo is in Winnipeg till late tonight.
It is ONLY 6 weeks to summer, & we were lucky enough to be able to take these photos TODAY. You gotta love Spring.
I havn't been on for quite some time, & havn't even checked for a week or so. Life is good. NOT.
NOT. NOT. (Stewart....) It has been a busy week, but do have a bit of peace till 1st. Since I DO have some time, decided to have a Thank You dinner for my HELPERS here at the condo. I have asked 6 in for dinner on Thursday. So nice to have time to treat them.
On 1st. have Elisas' piano & choir recitals,  on 2nd. have Michailas' violin recital, (VERY lucky to have them together.) Home the morning of 3rd for ANZAC. Board meeting here on 7th.
We had our annual voulenteer lunch yesterday, (Bills' birthday), & I was in charge of our Lions Club display so had to get an early start to set up. It was a reasonable day, so lots of folk turned up. It is always a good turnout, & always very good tucker. The rest of the month is FREE,
other than the dinner on 30th for the bods who do so much to help me. May is looking O.K.
I might even get some work done in the basement. Then down to Whitefish on 6th June for
Dans' grad. I can't believe that my first "baby" is nearly 19, & will be leaving home in Sept. We will stay in Whitefish, as Kate & family leave for Europe on 10th, so it is not worth the 172 mile
drive (each way) to come back here just for 3 days. I find the older I get, the worse my back gets after a long drive. The family will all be back, I think, on 22nd. I havn't talked to Kate for a few days, so am not sure.
Anyway, here I am prattling  on, when I should be attending to the business I had in mind when I first logged on.
I am VERY proud of Mo & Bill, & feel I have to share it. They are in Winnipeg at the moment for various reasons. However, one of those reasons is to receive a very special award. It all started last week, when they had to go to Brandon for Bill to receive his personal award. This award is given to the nominee who has done the most volunteering in the ENTIRE province of Manitoba. Anyone can nominate anyone. The committee then checks out the names, & the award goes to the one that they find did the most. That happened to be our Bill. Now they are
in Winnipeg for, among other things, to receive the award for the city or town, that had the most volunteers in any one year. Pilot Mound far out-did the other places on a population basis. Mo receives her OWN special award, for keeping the workers at the complex fed & watered the entire time, which I think was about 3 years. Maybe more. I know it was a LONG time. If Mo couldn't feed them herself, she made sure someone else did. They always got morning & afternoon smokos, as well as a good meal at noon. Smokos were like a meal anyway.
So someone sent in her schedule to the nomination place, & she was well rewarded. I am sure you will not hear any of this from her, yet I am proud, & thought you might be too.  I think she
posted some photos of the Almost-finished complex. Still quite a bit of work to do, but at least now it can be used, & by what I hear, it CERTAINLY is used. They are such dedicated workers, good neighbours, & generally speaking, VERY GOOD CITIZENS. She is going to kill me, (no, I can run faster), but she will be a little hot under the collar when she reads this. After I post it, I will catch up on the latest posts. It has been awhile I know. I do enjoy reading it all, & usually first thing in the am. However, the last couple of weeks have sent me completely off course.
I FINALLY got to make a 'phone call yesterday to Cec. We had a really good, long chat. Mo & I have found it very hard to ring, but I think I am finally O.K. now. I will have to ring Cookie next. Thank the Lord for e-mail. A real life saver, when one can't ring up. Anyway, just wanted you all to know what Pilot Mound thinks of Mo & Bill.
Take care all. I wonder if any of the young'ens have been on?? I will check as soon as I post this. Love to all. Kell

Well Hello all
Wow Jess arent we just the georgous ones. I did enjoy the 18th and catching up with you guys even if it was only for a few hours and we didn't even go fishing.
Alls well here, Marcus is in Crookwell at present. Arrived home from NZ on Saturday. Missed his bus home so caught the train to Toronto on Sunday and I left work to pick him up. Monday the trip to the orthodontist for the braces. Now, we had 15min from the time he finished at the orthos pick up panadol get a ticket and get him on the train to Goulburn. Where he was being met by Cadwells. All was going well, he managed to change trains at Central ok and had to stand all the way to Campbelltown because it was peak hour. I guess all that effort took it out of him because he fell asleep. Woke up saw a station that he thought was Goulburn and jumped off the train. Well it wasnt bloody Goulburn was it. It was Bowral. He text me to say he had phoned the emergency number and could catch the next train going through on its way to Melbourne.OH NO dont you dare fall asleep this time. After many phone calls I got my cousin in Goulburn to go and find the Cadwells at the station, who I couldnt get in touch with to let them know what happened . By this time I had sourced that the train was only 20 minutes behind the one he got off. So he was only 20 minutes late. THATS MY BOY. Now having a great time out motorbike riding with all his mates who he hasnt seen since we left.
Greg is so much in love it is wonderful to see after all this time. Aunty Ces he and Sonia and Marcus will move to the new house and Mum can stay here where she is with all her things!!! surrounding her. Me I will just keep on living out of my car for the time being staying at either Toronto, Garrys parents or here.
I must go, have got chicken soup on the stove and it needs a stir and I have to get the clothes off the line.
Lisa loved the photos
Love to all

The Birthday Boy and Jane

Hello family,
It has been a long time since I last logged on - could not remember the pass word and had to check emails to get it. Hope I have not put up too many photos here. Will try to reflect on what we have been up to.
(All photos are now back the front to the way I wrote, oh well!)
First photos are of Patrick's 50th birthday, it wa a good night, Ronny and I hung out with the kids and had a great time.
Next photo is at the Blues Fest in Byron Bay at Easter. We had such a blast - but thank goodness for gum boots! Music was awesome.
After Easter Ronny and I went camping at Hanging Rock with our new toy. The scanoe (canoe with a motor) is a lot of fun. We are going back to Hanging Rock on Thursday and will spend our wedding anniversary there, four days. it is a magic spot, I think the last photo says it all. It is Crown land, right beside the Mann River. I meant the first photo here!
Stewart is on line now, and he says he reads the blog - I said write on it! So now I must be careful with what I write - NOT!
We have a dinner engagement so I must be off to ready myself now. Takes longer now - trying to hide the wrinkles!
hope the braces went ok on Marcus! Ouch!
Love to all
Lisa

Happy anniversary to the Paytons Junior but one ! Sorry Bernice, but I just haven't been able to get to the Blog and really wanted to have this on in time for your actual anniversary! Time gets away on you doesn't it? I have been sorting through photos, in the hope of getting them all on disk and or flash drive. Flash is good, Bill doesn't use the computer but can use a little Mp3 that Kell gave us, so he can look at snaps on it. I have so many on the computer now that I'm afraid of overload!! As soon as I scan them in, they just run all over the place, so I have about 3 copies of each one. And that is OK until I go to look for a particular, then have to go through the lot to find one !
We are away to Morden this am...Bill needs shoes, me a haircut. Wed. we go to W'peg for the volunteers presentation, Thurs. to Brandon...Bill to be presented with Volunteer of the year for Man. Hydro and Ag.
Thursday back to W'peg (Bill's B day) out for supper and up early Sat. to spend the day at a workshop. Home in time for our Legion steak fry.(we both work at it). The next week is spent getting ready for our Chamber Of Commerce Smorg. (I am C of C member) We will feed about 500 people a full meal, ham, beef, fried chicken, 3 veg. salads and dessert. In the mean time I want to pack the car and get ready to leave for Pincher 6am on 4th May. We wont get home from the smorg till about 9pm, and by then I need someone to run the bath for me, all the standing and running isnt good for the back !
Stroke of luck Lisa, we will be in the city for your anniversary, so will be able to share a bottle and drink to your health !
I am not going back to read old blogs, it is time to get Bill up and have coffee. We will soon be able to have it out on the deck, it is 2 above zero now. A week or so and we will breakfast out there.
More about Greg and his girl, please. Is there a date set for a wedding?
I have so many E mails to reply to, and I promise, the first rainy day I will do it. Love to all. Take care of each other.Let us know of any big 'do' planned! Love ya. Mona

Belmore checking in...

Front of the shed. Tony removed the roller door and put the wall, door and window in. Also put a huge wall to wall window in the back. Still working on the inside putting the ceiling and insulation in then if Marc behaves himself Tony may paint it for him.

Outside 'helping' Daddy (playing in the rain, Benny was not impressed). She was having fun...

They wanted to do painting. I'd let Puppy (Mia) out of her cell for a run. When I came inside Puppy had had a 'colour' put in. Suits her but I don't think her Daddy will be too impressed when he gets home. I may as well take her outside for a walk in the rain b/c she'll be getting a bath this evening anyway, lol...

Other than that, no news. I'm loving the rain, Mum's hating it. I found the Brown Brothers that she wanted like Aunty Cook had, it's in the fridge.
Marcus is getting his braces as I type then going to Crookwell tomorrow. I think he's crazy, his mouth will be so sore.
Have much to do so best get to it. Love and kisses to all. Lin, missing you, where are you? Everyone for that matter?
Love Red xxxxx

Robert DiNero Calling

Is that how the song goes? Whatever, it's me and you a lll know who I am :o)

Haven't been on simply b/c I don't have any news. It's 7:52pm and I'm spaced out on 2 glasses of chardy, oh man, I still have to read and say prayers to Hokey (Ange fell asleep hours ago).

BG, Jacob FaceBooked Marcus's flight detaikls to me, will be there to collect him. He mentioned Krispy Kreme donuts b4 he left so I'll make sure we grap a case of them before we leave the air[oprot (tried to find the onwe outside the airport whter I dropped him off but of course it's in a impossible place to get to so missed out. Won't happen twice)!

Sorry 'bout typo's, told you I was spaced out. Normally I'd pull myself up and correct them but f*** it, does anyone really give a toss? (I hope not :o/).

Tony's absolutely ruined from pushing himself so hard to build that damned granny flat for Marc. As much as we botgh want him out there I',m not prepared to let him kill himself trying to get it done. For a bloke as crook as he is he's done a bloody amazing job so far,. . Today he spent the day in bed, couldn't move for the pain (the back) and of course the dicky heart makes him weak as does the diabetes.

Better go, too many typo's I can't even undeastand it :o!

Love, kisses and hugs to all,

Sara

Hey Bernice
Just got home, 11pm. A fair bit of traffic heading out of Newcastle but cruisy going my way. Got home to a right mess. The dogs are missing Marcus and had torn the heck out of a couple of the outside cushions and white stuff every where. Think they tried to dig their way to NZ too as there was a dirty great big hole in the back lawn. I left the gate open while I unpacked my car and put the washing on and of course they have done a runner. So I have cleaned up the mess and filled the hole back in, put my washing on. Had a wax, have the kettle brewing and am still waiting for the bloody dogs to come home. They will eventually and are probably at the IGA cleaning out the bins. I will go have a shower and a cuppa, hang out the washing and put the towels in to wash as well. If they are not home by then too bad because I am going to hit the sack. I have a fair bit to do tomorrow, my one day off. Just the usual chasing banks, booking bus tickets for Marcus to come home. Arrange for him to go to Crookwell, etc etc.
Have not been up to too much. Had a quiet relaxing Easter with no chocolate. Hate the stuff, and certainly dont need to add to the pounds that keep on adding up. Garry and I went to Warners Bay on the Sat night to Patti Kileys 18th and caught up with the Tullys. Had to do the runner when I was leaving. Tried to sneak away but Melissa was a wake up to me and caught me out. Hate those bloody goodbyes. Dogs home Yahoo!! Sunday we took the boat out and went up the Tillagerry creek. I dropped a flat head and was furious with myself. Brought home a feed of whiting. Garry cooked a roast pork dinner for me with banana fritters in maple syrup. Just delicious. Monday was quiet and we just hung around the house.
I miss my boys terribly and cant wait for Marcus to come home on Saturday. He has to have braces on his teeth on Monday and then will be off again to Crookwell to catch up with his mates for a few days.
Must get a move on the eyes are heavy and its past my bedtime.
Love to all
Meg

Anyone out there???

Hi all , the blogs been very quiet??? I don't know why ? anyway whatever you are all up to!! I just thought I would let you know we will be off the "Blog for the next 5 or 6 days as we are going to Dubbo just in case someone wants to write to us and we are not here...Catch you all later Bye now ..Love bernice xx

G'Day 10/04/09

Ciao all, no news really. Now worries Big Girl, Marcus is always a treat and the kids love having him here although I'm sure he'll be pleased to get on the plane tomorrow. Tell your SA nurses to bite the porcupine quill and get their hands in there.

Yes, great photo's everyone, love them.

I've been a little heavy on the chocolate lately. Not one to bother with sweets I am however, particularly partial to Cadbury Hazelnut, the 240gm blocks, naturally. They are absolutely loaded with whole nuts and I have been eating like crazy lately, 4 or was it 6 blocks in about a week? They're both even numbers so 4 or 6 it's much of a muchness huh? Mind you I bought another last night. They're only good if kept in the freezer. If any squares don't have nuts I give them to the kids otherwise they're mine, MINE I tell you, ALL MINE, HA Ha ha ha haaaa ... LOVE 'em! Just told Marcus to finish off the 240gm from last night before I do. Must've been about 5 squares left.

Missed the hat parade at school on Friday but one of the other mums took pictures for me and will mail to me. Hokey's been trying to sneak into my cupboards on a early 'hunt'. No luck there my boy.

Been cleaning mould off all my precious books after Tony dug them out from the back of the shed where it was supposed to be dry but just my luck it was right under a bloody leak. Pissed off!

Tony's slowly been emptying out the original shed and converting it to a granny flat for Marc. He has emptied it but left Marcs crap in there, has put up and insulated the walls and with Marcus' help got a third of the ceiling up this morning. That was 'Marcus' not 'Marco', that lazy arse is still in bed, it's only 4pm so still early yet! He doesn't help Tony at all, not one finger does he raise to help. All the same, Tony's killing himself to get it done so he will be out of the house and we can clean out and paint etc his room for Hokey.

Better go, madam is beckoning. Love to all,
Sara xxxxx

Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone.
Not much news in Canberra. As always the girls are busy and going out all the time. I am also working full time between both my jobs and study on Wednesday nights so not much time for anything else.
Can someone email me Greg's postal address so I can send an engagement something please?
We are having sprinklings of rain here, not enough to be of any help though.

G'day
Just a quick catch up note to say hello to all and a Happy Easter to everyone. Dave have a great time in Perth and to all those travelling stay safe. I will just be doing the usual up and down the F3 to Toronto over Easter. Marcus heads off to Sydney this morning in readiness for his flight to NZ on Saturday. Thank you very much Aunty Sara for helping me out, I appreciate it. I have split days off Mondays and Thursdays so its hard to have any rest time. I have to have my car in to get the finishing repairs done to it from when Greg backed into it and nearly $4,000 damage later well............... Work is so busy, I have to look after my own lot and because Im working with a couple of South African nurses at this time and get lumbered with there work. Being bush nurses they are not up with our standards and cant do a lot of our procedures. Last night I had to change a superpubic catheter on a young lady that has MS, because they cant and redebride a decubitus ulcer on a lady that has a broken tib and fib. The day staff spent 1 1/2 hours debriding and did a fair job ( A F@#%*** long time) Jane was going to call in a surgeon to surgically debride it. I got onto the job being the fantanstic super nurse that I am and did the job. The girls are afraid of the knife and just fairy pick at these wounds. Then I have to attend to there buzzers and their patients needs because they cant understand the African girls lingo. For example Namousa was offering a patient her 2pm regular analgesia and the woman refused because she thought Namousa was giving her something for constipation. Ahhh the joys of it. Has its advantages coming from Bourke aye mate. NOT. Anyway the jobs get done eventually but Im always late off work when they are on. I will post a photo of the girls if I can. The new physio is a huge Botswainian with dread locks down to his bum...... I wont go there.
Sonia Gregs wife to be is just lovely Lisa, dont worry she will handle the family and already fits in as though she has always been here. She is just Great and Bernice that was a lovely photo you posted on the blog. I am going to try to save it to my computer to print it off for them.
Must dash was only going to be on here a minute.
Happy Easter all. See you Tullys at the party and

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR TOMORROW LISSA.

Clarence Vally calling..

Hello All,
Dinner just about ready, so this will be quick. Sorry I have not been on the blog, just have not been near the computer. When I have, it is to mark year 12 essays that they email me - mid course exams on now. Have year 12 Advanced English, the top class, so they are very conscientious and keep sending essays, and have a year 12 Drama class, 21 of them, and the keen ones keep sending essays. Anyway, other than that, work is still hectic. Marking all the exams starts now - and who wants to mark over Easter ?- NOT me, mad rush to get it all done by Thursday.
Ronny and I are off to the Blues festival at Byron Bay for Easter, should be fantastic. Asha, Seb and Jess (family friend) are camping near us and going to Festival too, so should be great. The artists playing are amazing!!
After the Easter break, spend a few days at home catching up with friends, then off camping for the rest of the school holidays. We pick up our new purchase tomorrow - a scanoe! That is a canoe with a little motor!(only about 4 horse power motor). Will be able to explore the river a lot more now, very exciting!
Hey Bernice, we think you are amazing to STILL be off the smokes, good on you girl!
How about Greg!! Congratulations. We need a family gathering fast to see if she can handle us all!!
Lots of flooding about, but not in Grafton - great part of the world!!
Must post a few photos of Patrick's 50th, it was a great night. Will do it soon!!!
oops, smell dinner burning better rush.
Aunty Mona, the complex looks fantastic!
Hi and love to all,
love Lisa

Sara again...

I'm back on the computer and after reading blog and checking email I have forgotten what I'm on here for, senility kicking in!

Tony is still crook (think I've already said that in previous blog) been in bed pretty much since we came home from Aunty Junes funeral. Can't find a bloody decent GP to manage all his conditions. Shits me, doctors that is, they all want that medicare slip and don't give a toss about your condition! Need to get my eyes checked again too, those 'grey' points are catching up too fast. No seriously, things have been a little fuzzy lately and that bugs me too. I got glasses last year, for 'distance' but after I bought them the optomertrist (Chinese) said "You don't really need them". Bloody greedy slopes, if I didn't need them then he shouldn't've sold me the damned things. They are cute though, I look like a real Librarian in them. Love it, a School Mam!

Gotta go, mum's buzzing about and wants me to get linen out for the beds. Ciao all, love ya's, xxxxx

Ok, a 'Quickie'

Hello Canadians, I know you log on each day to check for news and no-one's been on so while mum's here I'll get a few words in. Poor old dear, it's been raining and she's wandering about trying to find something to 'do'. I load the washer then load the dryer, so easy when it rains but can only have one going at a time and NOT while the kettle or microwave are on, blows the circuit (old house, only one circuit. We will fix one day). Last night there must've been 5 lights on in the house and they were blacking out. We have to go buy some more smoke detectors. Place won't go up in flames when we're not here b/c Marc doesn't turn the lights on!

Aunty Kell I wish I could come over and give you a break. It must be so difficult for you and I'm sure you'd like to be able to just sit and relax with a book sometimes, lots of times. Aunt Mona, you really are a sport fan aren't you? I used only enjoy the rugby union but don't even get a kick out of that anymore. I think Lawn Bowls would be relaxing except for the old commentators getting all excited when someone gets close to the white ball. Spose I could turn the volume down but it's the off-season for bowls now and 'Bingo' isn't televised...

School photo's today, I rushed to get Giancarlo dressed in a 'clean' (as far as his stained shirts would allow) uniform then raced to school. I stayed until the bell rang and had to hunt him off the ground a half dozen times (at least) in the twenty minutes I was there. I hope they photographed them early b/c he just doesn't stay clean at all.

Yesterday after I'd got Hokey dressed and before we went to school I noticed the white sash cord in his pants was sticking out. I wasn't too concerned and took him off to school. Later in the morning when Mum had re-made the bed (I'd already done it but not to Benny standard) Mum came out with a pair of Hokeys undies, wet. She said they were tucked down the side of the bed between it and the wall (obviously after I'd made it). I was a bit confused b/c they were the ones he'd put on that morning. When I went to collect him from school he had his trousers on inside out, had been all day! He didn't get to the loo quick enough in the morning so pulled his trousers off and changed his undies then pulled the trousers back on. Of course when boys pull their trousers off they come off 'inside out' so that's how they went back on. He didn't care and evidently none of the teachers did so good luck to him ay?

I am in the process of rigging my stereo up to the PC so I can convert some casettes to CD and wav format and put on my mp3 player. I will have to find a cable or buy one b/c Angelina has put most of the visible ones (just about all of the cables we have) in the fish tank. That and I've just been too mentally drained to get on with the job.

Meg is putting Marcus on a bus down here next Thursday, he flies out to New Zealand on Saturday. Hokey will be stoked to have Marcus here for 2 nights. I'll have to bring Marcus to schhol to collect Hokey that afternoon so he can 'show him off' to all his mates. The sun shines from Marcus, fair dinkum it does...

Marc isn't in the shed yet. Tony's been too crook to do anymore in there. We'd like to have it ready by the end of this month but it's not looking too good. I will see if I can borrow a couple of Eoin's (Irish mate) workers on a rainy day (b/c they can't work on rainy days but he still has to pay them) and get them to finish the job for us. It just needs some pink or yellow batts put in and then the inner walls put up and it'll be ready to move in. The plumbing we'll have to sort at a later date, in the meantime he will have to come in here to s**t, shower and shave. The rest he can do in a bottle, does that now anyway, even though he still lives in the house!

Oh yes, I too the kids to a park over near Mortdale last weekend and we did a walk around the park. It was all foot-pathed, not dirt and rock as I'd hoped but enjoyable all the same. It was a 'reserve' so had a large man made pond there with a few ducks and water birds there. Was very nice. No public toilets though and I barely made it into the trees then cursed when I couldn't undo my pants but managed to sit on a log for a pee, just (never mind the wet cuffs)! Sorry, more detail than you need to know but I thought it was funny considering that side of the park was at the base of a cliff type setting lined with houses up top only about 10 metres away. I zipped up and we walked on then pulled in and sat on another log in the bushes. No no no, just to rest this time. I showed Hokey the sap coming from a gum tree and explained to him what it was and told him that Nanny and Aunty June, Uncle Steve, Aunt Mona and Aunty Kell (he's met and remembers all) used to eat sap as 'chewing gum' when they were kids. I then proceeded to snap a piece of the crystalised stuff, too hard off the tree and chewed on it. Followed by a god-awful dry and bitter taste in my mouth. I asked Hokey for a bite of his apple and then promptly started to choke on the skin. I heaved, coughed, dry reached and choked a bit (scared the poor bloody kids, me too mind you) the gasped for breath. We moved on and stopped at a 'exercise' area b/c Hokey wanted to play. I phoned mum and asked her about the sap and she said "Oh no, we only ever ate sap from Gidgee, White Wood and Leopard trees. 'Gum' was too bitter"! Great, wish I'd a known that 5 minutes ago before choking in front of my kids. Bloody idiot! Gave me a good laugh though, "try something new every day" they say. Well don't try eating sap from Gum trees b/c it tastes like Fox Poison!

Okey dokey, that's about it from me for today. Sorry it's not much and no news but hey, that's my exciting life... Lin, how bout some more of your beautiful native pics? Or email them. I do save them for screen savers.

Mum sends her love to all. Thinking of you all always but can never 'write a letter'. She should take a lesson from her youngest and just ramble.

Love and Kisses,
Sara
