Hi All,
Just a quick note. In a rush, dinner just about ready so will try to make it fast. (Ronny is cooking tonight). All well here. Had a great Mother's day and Dad's birthday celebration last Sunday in Byron Bay. All the family present except Anthea, but that was due to distance. She is still in North Queensland teaching.
Mum is great, dad not so good. When he is away from his home he gets very disoriented and can not recall where/ what town he is in - mind you, they get about a bit! They are in Brisbane this weekend with Stewart. A few weekends ago Ronny, Zappa and I spent the weekend with Stewart in Brisbane. Bruce (Stewart's dog) and Zappa had a brilliant time together. It was a magic weekend. Hockey is in full swing here, so we don't get many weekends off, so we make the most of the few hockey free weekends we have. - That did not come out right - I love my hockey!
Ronny and I are off to Sydney with 40 seventeen/ eighteen year old students this week. We leave at midnight on Tuesday night. We see Hamlet, the text we are studying. Every year Ronny and I say we are not doing it again - but we always do!
Ronny's dad is doing well in the Nursing Home. He really feels part of the place now, which is a big relief to us. He is looking healthy and happy.
An amazing coincidence happened - Ronny's brother and partner just bought a house - right around the corner from Mum and Dad. Literally, walking distance. As Ian is a great cook (they just sold their restaurant in Lenox Head) mum is hoping for an invite to dinner! It will happen soon.
Aunty Mona, we have a lap top too, but we have a USB connection and a cordless mouse. Makes the world of difference and they are pretty cheap too. Don't have to fiddle with the flat pad with your finger. You should check it out.
Ronny is rustling in the kitchen, so I better go. Hopefully, this blog post will start with a great photo of Mum and Dad last weekend. It was the day before Dad was 84.
Love you all,
Lisa
