I'm still here ...

Taken today
The pool fence. Little yard is still crowded but alot cleaner and tidier than it was. Tony's done a great job.
My wilder child ...
Hello Aunties, yes I'm still here but haven't been able to logon b/c my little mate doesn't like me being on the computer and has the most effective way to get me off it. She pulls my book shelves to pieces and asks if she can tear the books. I remind her that she is a little girl and not a little baby but she simply replies "but I want to tear it". I have to stop whatever I'm doing and go sit with her to watch her shows, read or paint. And as Mum keeps reminding me "hang on to them and enjoy them while you can because before you know it they've grown up and left home and you never see them". Also remembering back to my own childhood I do try to make myself available to them at all times and although parenting is a full time job I never wanted to be a 'working' mum.
Yes Aunt' Mo', the birds are lovely. There are only 2 eggs in the nest and I'm sure they should be hatching soon. We have more babies too, the bloody fish have been at it so now there's about a dozen small fry in the tank along with the original 4 residents.
She's baaaaack...
Tony put the pool fence up last Thursday, he's done a great job of it too and started to build a platform for me to get in and out of the pool from. He's done a great job but each time he's gone out to do something it's been on a hot day and he's stuffed for 2 or 3 days after, those 2 or 3 days being week days which have been bloody gorgeous weather. Today for instance, 20c and cool wind out there, beautiful but Tony's stuffed from working in the heat (35c I think it was) on Saturday.
I'm just stuffed but nothing like what you ladies must be feeling, Aunty Kell you must be exhausted? I hope Uncle Peter is at least at peace (as much as he can be) in his mind. Aunt Mona, I don't get gout but think I may be getting the arthritis in my left knee, the affected one. Some days I think it's going to give way from underneath me, it feels so weak and painful. I've started again on the fish oil tablets.
Mum is very weak too. She has not been herself for a few months now, she has been very tired and short of breath. She doesn't like to be alone at night either. I told Meg I'd like her to talk to Mum about her possibly coming down here for christmas but only on the condition that she sits down and relaxes. I don't need her doing anything for me but I would like her to be here as we won't be going up there before xmas. I will probably take the kids up after the 25th but not before. Mum saw a doctor and they took x-rays, bloods etc and she had to wear one of those heart monitors for 24hrs but when she went to see the doc' afterwards he said she was fine, cholesterol was up but otherwise he didn't need to see her again. That was fine by Mum but she still feels all is not right as she has a heavy feeling in the left side of her chest. Meg was going to try to get her to see the doc' at the hospital she works at but they have a system where they get two new doctors each week. They work alternate days for the whole 24hrs then move on after a week and the bloke that's just left apparantly was very good and an Australian but he's gone now.
My drop-kick brother-in-law is still not working. We don't know what he is surviving on but he has lost a lot of weight. We can't understand it, he's healthy and able bodied but just doesn't want to work and here's Tony who wants to work but due to ill health and buggered back he can't do anything. It isn't right. It's 2:37pm and the idiot has just come out of his room to take his dog for a walk. He gets up 'early' (2:30 is early for him) so he can walk the dog without having to take the kids for a walk. He was taking them with him in the hope we'd do something for him in return (that's how his mind works) but as I refuse to let Tony be used by him he has stopped walking with the kids. I'm sorry, I know I shouldn't talk about this crap on here but the moron completely pisses me off!
Aunt Mona, does that mean Uncle Bill does the sermons at church? We haven't had a minister for a couple of years at our church. Sometimes we get a temp' in for a couple of months but it's driving me nuts. It's good when the elders in the church do a sermon because they can really get the message across and they give good messages and sermons but the younger ones are hopeless and they're the ones who run the church. They mostly do 'notices' about what's going on with the youth groups and other groups and they take about two hours. I'm going to talk to my old mate Lily, she's the 80yr old Chinese lady (the church is or used to be predominantly Chinese) and let her know I'll try elsewhere until our church gets a minister. She agrees with me but she's been going there for so long that she just continues to go. Her husband Neville has stopped though, for the same reasons as me.
We put the christmas tree up last thursday or friday I think it was. The kids were jumping out of their skins. We threw the old tree out last year b/c it was tangled like fishing line with lights and tinsel and I just picked up a $20 one for this year as all the nice tree's are about $200 so after xmas I will get a nice one on sale and some pretty baubles too. I know it's early for the tree but I like to look at the pretty colours of the tinsel twinkling in the reflection of the lights too.
I might have to go make a cuppa, I'm quite chilled sitting out here. Hard to believe '3c' is a good day for you over there Aunty, I like the cooler weather in my older age but not that cold ...
It's 3pm and Tony's got up and gone to get Hokey from school. He's taken Angelina too so I have the rare pleasure of some time alone. Hmmm, looking around this office it's a mess and I'd better tidy it before Tony gets jack of it and starts in here. It's a mess but it's my mess and I have a fair idea where things are.
It's days like tyhis that I'd love to be home in Bourke experiencing the same weather out there. I miss the old "black fella's town".
Ok lovelies, I am just rambling so I will sign off for now. Hope all are well around the countryside and world. Love to everyone,
Sara XXXXX
Great picture of my Bro. - in - Law Mo!! You think you were busy BEFORE ordination?? Wait till now, & you will wonder what you ever did with your time "pre" ordination. Just a quickie. Peter is visibly worse each few days, so I am somewhat "kept out of mischief". I DID manage to get lights up on the back porch, & & my 4 deer up on the front lawn. None plugged in yet, can't find the cords. So much to get done, & not likely to succeed this year anyway.
BIG footie game on today, in Calgary. It is the season final, Grey Cup, & the east plays the west. Montreal for the east, Saskatchewan for the west. Playing in Calgary, so there isn't too much barraking for Montreal!! At the moment, Sask. is leading. Montreal is SUPPOSED to be the better team, but we don't agree. Peter has the Tele on, but doesn't seem to know too much about who is ahead, or who WE want to win.
Dan was home from Thurs. eve till today. We talked on the 'phone, but no visit. He is just flying out as I write. Anyway, no news. As Mo said, WHERE is Bernice?? Sara?? Lin?? Payton family?? We
may not "get on" very often, but we sure look forward to hearing the family news. Take care all.
Think of you all SO often, & talk to Mo about who is NOT logging on. Love to all.
The Reverand Bill Blackburn, Deacon in the Anglican Church of Canada.

Cathedral. He will be ordained priest on 13th March next year, at which
time I will be ordained Deacon. This was taken immediately following the service.
Now I have lost the BLOODY PHOTO and have to do it again !!

Pilot Mound ......I'm back!!
Morning all. Well here I am, back again. It has taken me so long to get over the shock !! No one else has mentioned it, so I guess you are still in shock ! Lissa Tully, get your butt back here and put an entry in so we don't have to go through this again.! But it was great to hear from you!
I think Kell is in Calgary this week end for Elisa's concert...she can tell you about it.
We are in the midst of the greatest weather for this time of year...Kelly is loveing it !!...no snow, and we are still BBQing...mind you, we are rugged up in our heavy coats, gloves and me with a 'dooner' around my legs (Feel the cold since my last bout of being 'sick'.) But BBQing we are. Today it went up to 3 above, tomorrow I think down to the minus again.
Bill is out putting lights up, I have my veg. on the go for supper, a friend is joining us to eat, we both LOVE fried onion, Bill doesn't eat onion, so I will get it ready yet too.
Not much in the way of news from me. We both keep busy, takes twice as long to do half as much these days, so it doesn't take much to keep busy ! Bill is 'project manager' for a house we moved in for our doctor......it was to be a part time job, but believe me it is a FULL TIME JOB with OVERTIME !!! No money changing hands however !
Has anyone seen or heard from Bernice? Kell and I used to so look forward to her notes keeping us up to date, and she hasn't been on for so long. Is she into the Facebook thing, too? That's too complicated for us ! Come on Bernice, we miss you!!
Love your bird, Sarie. How many chicks are there now?
Also loved the cockatoo Lyn. I sent it on to some of my friends.
I start into Christmas Cheer on Tuesday. Go visit my first school, then after that it is a full time job for all of December. I have been trying to find someone to take over from me, it gets to be more work and harder for me to manage with every year. This year especially hard because I can't stand for long and it is a marathon for me to walk to and from church....my MO tells me it will get better..... Anyway, one of my school teacher friends told me to 'hang in there' she will take over when she retires......in THREE YEARS!!! However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel, so I guess I can manage for another three years.
Best get on with the supper thing, I want to be free to indulge in a glass (or two) of wine over supper. Am going to send a photo, but it will have to be an addition, I'm not smart enough to put it with this. Love to all, take care. Mona B

Oops
Mamma bird and the young'n, 2 more eggs in the nest that they're sitting on ...
Tony put this up yesterday in 40c heat but it's only about 19c today!
Sorry Lin', I wasn't thinking when I added that 'followers' box. I saw there were 3 followers to our blog so tried to see and was prompted to add the 'followers' box which I did without thinking and now can't get rid of it. Didn't find out who the followers were either :o/
Big Girl, Ithink you just upload them then label under the pictures after they've loaded. That's what I do anyway.
Glad you had a nice birthday. Mums was a quiet one, her 80th anyway. Her 79th this Friday may be cooler in temperature at least. Mark sent her a huge bunch of flowers which absolutely made Mums year, she was ecstatic.
No news really so I will go and get dinner on (I'm seriously late :o( )

Some of the wild life photos I took on our trip.
- Brolgas at Lorraine Lewis(Jacksons) property
- The Lizzard that tried to hitch a ride on our tyre out at Lowes property
- Big red that Peter saved. (will tell the story another time)
- My favorite frog on the Tullys back verandah
- Eagle outside of Tibobburra(Note the stoney country)
- Little lizard up near Camerons corner
- Eagles nest
- The bloody snake that wasnt dead
Can anyone fill me in on how to label each photo because i dont know how to do it. This is going to be so painful.
Hey everyone, happy birthday to me. Thank you Kenny&Bernice, Aunty Cook the Tullys and Sarie for wishing me a great day. I had one too. Started off sleeping in until 07:40, a first for me not so for marcus, he didnt wake up so I had to run him to school. Then I went and got a coffee from Gloria Jeans and headed down to the Nelson Bay breakwall to drink it and kick back. Garry came over and treated me with a birthday cake, 2 pavalova's and some gifts, then we went for a walk to Birubi beach then back to Nelson Bay for lunch on the waterfront. Had a few quiet hours at home then when Marcus came home from school we went to the shops so I could spend my birthday voucher. Hate those things, had to try on 12 articles of clothes, too long, mostly too small or just down right daggy on a short fat old girl. Anyway I got 2 nice tops from the surf shop. Called in to see mum and to find out how she got on at the doctors. she hasnt been feeling herself, rather breathless and lethargic. She has to have a chest xray tomorrow and bloods done. Got a bag full of buffalo runners while I was there then came home and attacked gregs front lawn.

He has these horrible daisy type coastal plants choking his lawn and now the lawn is basically a weed haven. I have started to dig them out and replant runners. I had a nice big patch cleaned up, spent 2 days of back breaking work cleaning it up and planted a few runners. Much to my horror the other day Greg came home at 10pm with the horse float and horse on board and drove over my hard work, not once but several times backing the horse float into the front yard. AAAHHHHHHHHH. You would have thought a mack truck had done the bloody damage.
Anyway, he raked it out a bit, but I got back into it this afternoon while it was cool and planted all the runners I got from Mum. I remember doing this at my place with runners that I got from Saries at Beecroft I think it was. So its back to square one with a new lot of runners planted. I wonder how long before the dog digs them up or Greg forgets and drives over them again.
The horse resided in the back yard for the weekend and absolutely ate every blade of grass and weed that was growing. So its a backyard of sand. I will have to tackle it too at some stage.
Bill our neighbour said to me that the horse was in the garage and was eating something out of the blue bin. He tried to coax him out but he wouldnt come. Of course he wouldnt, the bugger had pushed the partly open sliding door open and was helping himself to the dog biscuits. He ate the lot of those too. I had to give Wrinkles the left over leg of lamb I had in the fridge for cold meat. She was delighted. The horse has gone to Singleton with Greg so we have a reprive.
Back to my birthday. Number one son and I were going to catch a movie tonight but time got away from me with my runner planting. We ended up going down to the local pub for a huge meal. We are both full as googs. And I am so ready to hit the sack.
I have not been back to Toronto working. I have been doing a lot of shifts at the local hospital. Tomaree Community Hospital its called. A busy little establishment and I just love the work. Im back in emergency mostly, they have a seperate triage system that I have to be accredited for before I work there. Doesnt matter that I have been doing it for years, you need the ticket of proof. I have mostly been doing night duty, 10 hour shifts. Its a bit of a bugger because I only ever manage 4 hours sleep during the day and I feel totally washed out until I get a night at home and catch up on proper sleep. They called me today to see if I would work patient transport tomorrow, I said no, couldnt think of anything worse that being a taxi. I would rather plant grass runners. All it entails is transporting patients to other hospitals or appointments such as CT and xray. I did apply for a full time position and submitted my application today so we will see how that goes. If I get it I will then go house hunting for myself.
Jacob arrives home on Christmas eve. Brett can be so inconsiderate at times. I tried to get a flight from Sydney to Newcastle for him but they are all booked out. I dread the thought of driving up and back on Christmas eve. the traffic will be hell. I will most probably be working so will have to source some other transport such as the bus or train.
Was not planning on having a Christmas but will have to make some sort of an effort. I dont know if Sarie and co will be coming up this year. I have a funny feeling they are staying in the city this year.
Brett will collect both boys in the new year and take them up to Tin Can Bay to visit with Grandma. That will be nice for them. We will be going to Coffs no matter what. Wont miss out on that.
Marcus is so tall now, he is about 6' and I just about break my neck looking up to him. Where did my babies go???? He has been doing a few shifts at Woolies in perishables. He should get a few more when the holidays start. He wants to get a carpenter apprenticeship once he gets his P's. I wont hold my breath because he still has lots of driving hours to get up before he can go for his P's. He might see year 11 out yet. If not carpentry then its the army so he says. That will probably be the best place for him.
Lisa I will have to search back to see where I left off on my travel diaries and catch up with the story. I just cant seem to get into it at the moment. It takes so long for my computer to up load the photos that I get sick of waiting for it. but I will give it a go now. How is Uncle Steve going. I think of everyone, and wonder how they are all doing. We have not heard from the Canadians for awhile either. Thanks for getting on the blog Lisa, its always nice to hear from everyone.
Boy oh boy that took me an hour to upload those photos. I dont know how to lable the photos can anyone help me out with that before I load the scenery photos please.
Well I am done in and with 5 minutes left of my birthday I am now going to put myself to bed. Goodnight all until next time.
Love Meg

No news, just filling space ...
Hello again ppls, I check in here whenever I get the chance to logon to the net but it seems everyone has vacated the premises. Not that I have much to say at all. Yes, I do logon to facebook too but have nothing to say there either, I mostly logon there to see what my old classmates and locals from home are up to. Tully girls are regulars there too.
Well it's a toasty day here today with tomorrow looking more like a cooker, 24c today and 32c tomorrow. I hate summer. Mind you, I do enjoy the pool if I get a chance to get there. I think I mentioned that we went there when Mum was here, no Mum didn't come but it was lovely in the water and I found out I can still doggy-paddle at least although it's much easier for me to dolphin it on my back. Can't do a backstroke 'coz I'd just go in circles. We were going to go there today but the kids, Hokey in particular are being too naughty so I said "no pool". Tough titties guys, learn the hard way. We hope to put a pool in here in the next year. Tony was hoping for one this summer but they cost a few quid so we'll just get a tinnie for now and try for one next year. Will be lovely to be able to go out back on a scorcher and relax in the water. Naturally we'll put the fence up firrst and some of those sun shades ($30 for 3x3mtrs). For now we'll make do with the bathtub on the real hot days.
Kids have gone for a walk with Zio (Marc), I'm surprised he's out of bed, it's only 12:30!
Megs birthday on Tuesday, I have a beaut' card but want to save that one for her 50th so have to rush out this arv' to grab the one I want. I'm sure I've seen in around and if I find it I'll scan it and post up here after her b/d. Maybe not though, that'd really p*** her off :o/
Mums b/d next Saturday, that's going by one of her birth certificates. Births, Deaths and Marriages have no idea and when she needed a copy of her birth cert' many years back she got one for 21st/11/1929 and another time one for 27th/11/1930! She said she's always used the 1st one there so there you go...
Received Giancarlo's report the other day, he's still doing really well in maths and English so I'm pleased about that.
Have booked Angelina into pre-school next year for 3 days a week, she is well and truely ready for it.
So, what's happening in Canada these days? How are you Aunt' Mo'? Leg getting any better? And Uncle Bill? Aunty Kell, how are you doing? Has anyone volunteer'd any respite for you? I hope you're ok and Uncle Peter? The kids and grandkids?
I have no news so will sign out and go look up whatever it was I logged on to do. Love to everyone, hope someone logs in soon,

Belmore, the day after ...
Man those Injuns sure know how to party. It was a lovely evening apart from Angelina sooking to go home from the moment we arrived (now I understand what my poor mother went through with me...) Seemingly 5yrs is a very important birthday to the Indians, perhaps back in India they don't expect the children to last that long??? Parents would have spent well and truely over a thousand dollars for the night. They'd hired Spiderman to come in and the kids loved him. They had a big jumping castle there and had also hired a traditional Indian dancer to come in. The food was all traditional and delicious. I love the music and dancing and alot of the older folk got up to dance also, it was beautiful and a fantastic night. Makes me want to go out and hire 'Slumdog Millionaire" (Bollywood movie). Didn't get home until about 11'ish. Hokey was asleep before I even started prayers but both were up early this morning and I am still yawning, tried to have a nanna nap in church but they were singing too loud...
No news, just thought I'd update on last night. Ciao now,

Belmore, better L8 than never ...
Hello peoples, bin a while, sorry :o/.
Aunty Kell, I didn't know it was your birthday today, you are probably just waking to the day as I type (it's 8:54pm here). I hope it's a good day for you and someone comes to give you a rest for the day.
Mum went home on Tuesday, it was lovely to have her here for a couple of weeks and the kids were very disapointed when she went home. Angelina especially, she would declare "You can't catch me, naah nah ne nahh naahh" and Mum would run (yes, run) through the house chasing her. I envy the old girl ... I think she had a nice enough time here, she's always ready to go home after two weeks though as I think we all tend to get on her nerves by then. At her age she's deserved the right to get tired of others and I'm just greatful for the company when she comes. Thank you Mum, I love you.
Lisa, sounds like you had a great trip, you guys sure get around. Good for you, wish it were us doing the rounds.
Tony's op' was successful. They sent him home 6 days afterwards, which is normal these days. In and out, they don't want people clogging up hospital beds. He's been slowly recovering at home.
The kids are good, Angelina's picked up a few choice words which I won't be boasting about on here but suffice it to say, she knows how to use them. Almost had Mum and I choking at times.
The last few weeks all Madam has wanted was 'halloween' but now that's passed she wants 'christmas'. I keep telling her it's still 7 weeks away and asked her what she wants for christmas, "Umm, a bayoon" (balloon). Well at least she's easy pleased. Giancarlo on the other hand scours the toy catalogues for car tracks which I flatly refuse to buy for him because they end up all over the house but nonetheless I've told him to keep it in mind for when he writes to Santa. Big Red might come good with it if Daddy does the shopping... I have decided to get Tony a kite for christmas. He likes kites, I just have to find a good quality one. To get a 'good' one is about at least 80 bucks these days. Oh well, if I start looking now I can lay-bye one.
Took Gizmo and Boo Boo (Bianca) to get their coats shorn today. Giz' chews Boo's back, the vet says it's to bring the female into season but Boo Boo's been desexed so nothin's hap'nin there. By his chewing though the poor little dog is always in a complete mess, if she were black instead of white you'd swear she was Jamaican with her dreadlocks down her back and legs. I bought her a little t-shirt and have set up a house for her out the front so she can be in peace. I'm thinking of surrendering her to the RSPCA, although I doubt she would get adopted, she has a face like a Mack truck hit it.
The birds nesting box fell down and killed one chick. Hokey swears he didn't 'bump' it but I suspect otherwise, too late now anyway. The other chick is doing well and fattening up nicely. I managed to kill off 2 fish when I did a water change. I'd run out of the 'water ager' so the water I put in the tank remained chlorinated. They are tropical fish so they didn't take to it at all. The other two survived without a problem though.
I tried to clean this place out while Tony was in hospital but if I start to 'sort' then I decide 'Oh, I need that' or 'I'll file that' or 'I'll put that away' and all the crap stays here but just gets moved to different locations in the house. I'd like to just get a 'mini-skip' and throw all the 'stuff' in it and shred all the paperwork. Fact is, we need a proper shed...
Kids dropped off to sleep on the first prayer tonight, they must be exhausted. We've been invited to a birthday party tomorrow, the little brother of the little classmate who's party we went to before the holidays. I'm looking forward to it as they are having the party at home (most kids parties are held at play centres or Macca's or the like these days) and the family is Indian and they also run their own catering (or something like that) business and I Luuuurrrve (LOVE) Indian food. I'm salivating just thinking about it. They have hired a jumping castle for the kids too so I know mine will love it.
I look about here and all the things I have to do scroll through my mind but as soon as I reach for pencil and paper the thoughts scatter and I can't catch them to write down. I always think of you Belinda and marvel how you have always managed to continue educating yourself while working and raising kids. In fact, all you Mums who manage to hold down a job and family also. I would dearly love to be back doing what I used to (I.T) but all my adult life have prayed that if I were ever to have kids that I would be able to be a 'stay at home Mum' so I'm greatful for being a 'homemaker' or 'home duties' as they tend to call it these days. 'Home duties'? Some days I'm so flat out doing stuff away from the home that I question the title. You know, I reckon I was born a couple of generations too late, it would have been a lot harder 'work' in the early century but to not have the bother of all the 'stuff' about and telephones, tv's and toys etc would have been less mental stress. 3 HUGE cheers for all you other Mums out there who have managed to do it all in modern life and all you others who have done it in 'simpler' times.
I really must get to bed, don't have to jump up to get to school tomorrow so should get in early so I get the most out of the night. Good night y'all,
Love Sara xxxxx

Grafton checking in..
Hello all,
Great to hear from you Meg. How about some photos on the blog of your travels? All sounds great.
Only saw Johnno and Vicki in Bourke. Got in at night, saw Johnno and Vicki the next morning on our way through.
Happy birthday Bernice, was thinking of you last night, wondering what you were dressed up as.
Aunt Mo, hope you are well and that you and Uncle Bill returned home safely.
This was just a quickie, now that I am back on line - just because I can!
Meg, don't forget to call in and visit us on your way home, please come and stay,
cheers to all,
Lisa
