Pilot Mound reporting in.
Morning all. I have had one heck of a time getting on here this am, and all I wanted to do was say Happy New Year !! Note the size of the text, and I can't get it to go bigger. Will try again later. I FINALLY got a picture posted.....our Christmas dinner with friends, at our ST. JOHN'S PARISH HALL. About 30 of us sat down to eat, it was good and fun. Bill's head can ALMOST be seen behind the red sweater ! No news and I can't read this it is too small so will go. Hope everyone had a great Christmas. Love and God Bless. Mona

Merry christmas from whitefish
Merry Christmas to everyone. It is beautiful here in whitefish, lots of snow and we are sitting having happy hour on Christmas eve . Hope everyone has a great day and be safe if you are driving. Kell is sitting beside me with a glass of Aussie red and wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas and good health and happiness in 2011, with love.

First one, hoar frost on my little plant out on the deck this am. (Me in my PJ's out taking photos for him.
in -18 ) Second one, the tree on the side of the house...no, it isn't snow, it's Hoar Frost !!
Three, my little polar bear all covered too !! Four, looking down our street. They aren't as clear as I had hoped, but it is cloudy. If the sun comes out I will take more.....you really get to see frost then ! Love to everyone. Christmas Eve for you, me just trying to make some shortbread and get ready. Lots of work.

Merry Christmas.
Good morning all! What a beautiful day we are having here....lovely peaceful snow falling, no wind to speak of, and temp. a mild -12 !! And we are enjoying it ! I just realized I don't have time to get cards to Australia ! Time just gets away on me at this time of year. So PLEASE....tell everyone I wish them Christmas Joy, Peace and Happiness. I will try to phone those who don't use the computer.
I talked to Kell this am...she is in Calgary baby sitting at Chars while the
'Oldies' go celebrate thier 20th anniversary. She will head to Whitefish as soon as she gets home and does the routine chores and visits Peter.
Bill and I can't go over this year, we can't get enough free time together to be able to make the trip. We need at least 8 days, and 10 would be better.
We were able to squeeze in a short visit with Stew. I think I drove Bill crazy telling him how much I wanted to see him!! We only had an evening and a day with him, but it was sooooooooo worth it !
There isn't any news to relate. I have a batch of dough on the rise for buns, have to keep checking it...if the buns turn out OK Bill will run them up to the kids at the corner house, Merry Christmas from us. They are good lads, early 20ies, and just built a 'deck' on the roof of thier house, complete with a 'water feature'...that being a garden hose pulled up from the back tap !! But they will polish off a dozen buns at one meal !
I am in full swing with Christmas Cheer, with 36 hampers to put up and get rid of ! Bill helps of course, but it is a big job and takes care of my December. My poor fingers are cracking already and we have only just started ! (And I think of dad and his Barcoo Rot !!)

I gave in last week and put the red cloth on the table and the little tree in the dining room window. Bill has the lights up out side. I will go turn them on, it looks so nice in the snow. I supply the pudding and a bottle or two of 'Silver Leaf'......saw the ad on TV ...."add a splash of Silver" Loved it, tried it , now drink it all the time ! When we go to Pincher I check out the wine..they get some dandy stuff in. Shingle Back; Nervous Nellie (where men are men and sheep are nervous ); Black Stump; just to name a few. I buy them all...have to keep the economy going I say.!

Hi Peoples,
WOW, what awesome photos of the flood waters. I really feel for those who have been affected by them and hope they are able to recover.
No news here really. Tony has finished building the decking around the pool and his swing on top of the deck in the corner under the neighbours tree which over-hangs our yard. We just need to get the 'outdoor' carpet to put on it to make it more comfortable (it's made from pallets) and avoid splinters.
Tonys latest project is building a room off the side of the house to have as a workshop type set-up so that he can work on cars but in the shade and out of the elements. More pallets plus a huge pile of hard wood he picked up whilest taking Giancarlo to school last week. The room will join the wall of the back room where my computer used to be. He will put a door there so he can go through without going outside. There is also a sliding glass door/window at the far end of that wall that opens under the carport/backyard area. That wall and the back wall are almost up and health pending he may have it finished before school next year. He spent three days earlier this week working on the frame, leveling and cutting as well as moving existing workbenches, cupboards and tool boxes (which in itself is a huge job). That knocked him around quite abit and he spent the next two days recovering. Yesterday he went out again even though I'd advised him not to as it was very hot and humid, even undercover. This morning he got up to make his breakfast and almost fainted. He couldn't work it out but I told him he probably had a touch of heat stroke. Mind you he won't get in the pool, doesn't like water! He was going to take the kids to the beach today but it won't be happening now. Besides, I hate Sydney beaches. We'll be up North next week where the beaches are by far nicer and cleaner.
Tonys poor old dog, Gizmo desperately needs a haircut. We pass my girlfriends place on the way up North and she grooms dogs professionally so has agreed to spiff Giz' up for us. Until then I will have to attack him with the scissors to keep him a bit cool at least.
Shoot! it's 0938hrs and I was supposed to be going to church this morning. It starts at 0900hrs and is a 10-15 minute drive from here. Oh well, I suppose I will have to make some banana bread instead. Angelina will be pleased.
Hokey had his school concert on Friday I wasn't able to get any decent photos though. I will sign off now and try to load the ones I do Have.

Now I know we need rain but this is ridiculous! I will find some of Canberra for you as we are having the same rain here today my yarn and garden shed are flooded. Lucky the shed is bolted down or it would have floated away. No news from Canberra, just same old same old! Mandy and Bruce visited this week and it was great to see them and stupidly we didn't take any photos oh well good excuse for a reunion so we can. Speaking of which we though we should make a date in 2011 and all catch up. Who ever can come does if not there is always 2012. Any ideas?

Jacaranda City checking in...
Greeting all,
If has been a long time, but that does not mean that I have not been thinking of you all. Wow, it has been so long I do not know where to start??? First, a round up of the blog...
Great photos of David's wedding - the pickies were 'loud', could almost hear all the laughter!
Meg - I think we all take our hats off to you - I know I could never be a nurse!
Aunty Mona - you have to slow down! Not for the town's sake but for your own! We want you and Uncle Bill around for a lot longer! I bags a sleep over at our place for a few nights when you come to Australia! If it is this time next year - Grafton is magic. Jacarandas are all in full bloom and the city looks amazing. We just finished the two week festival.
We took Ronny's dad down town on Jacca Thursday and he loved it ( public holiday in Grafton). The main street closes and all the shops dress up and do shows. a fun day.
Bernice, nice photos - I recognised Toni's house straight away. Thanks. we are all excited about Christmas and sharing it with Kenny and Bernice. Will be a hoot! Ronny and I have a very exciting Christmas eve planned for everyone, but we are not telling at this stage!
Two of the photos below are of our outback Queensland trip we took in the last school holidays. Ronny, Zappa and I just took off in the van, heading west then north. Headed towards Longreach without a real destination. Ended up past Longreach - went to the dinosaur site about 110kms west of Winton. It was amazing. On our way home we went near the coast and saw Anthea for a night which was a bonus. No time to tell all about it, but it was brilliant.
The other photo is of Ronny when he played his first gig with the band. Just a bunch of teachers (5) and they have been playing a few gigs just for fun. Last Saturday night they played out at a friends place about 1/2 hour out of town. We danced and sang and laughed so much I had a face ache. Tried not to smile as my face hurt! great fun!
Mum and Dad just spent a few weeks up at Jane's while she went HSC marking. They stayed at Jane's so Brydie could just study and do her HSC without worrying about meals etc. Mum said dad was really good - apart from asking where was Jane all the time!
Stewart is getting excited, only a few weeks before he flys to Canada!
A few weeks ago Ronny and I were in Sydney for a 3 day conference - and we met Cathy Lowe! The Tully's great friend. We had a great time together, sharing many stories as she knows most of the family! We text the Tully's and Meg as we could not believe the small world we live in. I originally went up to ask her to say hi to Jenny White as she works at Bourke High School, and then later on in the first night the whole connection came out. Cathy was the one who drove the Tully girls to Sydney when Liz was flown there. It was a great time - and we had more than a few drinks together every night!
This sounds like Ronny and I are never at school - but we are! - However - we are taking 2 weeks long service leave in a few weeks and spending it at Wooli beach in a cottage by the sea! Will have time to blog on again then. Now is time to cook dinner so I better run.

Mona's Back
Good morning all. Great to hear from you again Bernice and thanks for the pics. Kell and I have both had trouble from time to time trying to get on the blog. It mostly wont accept the pass word. I have had to leave it a couple of days before it will come on. I've done it again, started on this without checking back on old posts for news to comment on. I remember Sarie had a couple on and Meg had one. Always great to get your news.
Now before I go any further I have to tell you Frank shut down my Face book thingy. I just could not get it to work. I don't know who hooked me up, but I didn't know my pass word and it wanted it. And every time I tried to read it, I had to solve some stupid puzzle. I kept getting e mails that someone had written on my page.....no good to me, I couldn't get to read it. Frank (he is my computer guru) couldn't get it to work either. Last night it took him at least an hour to shut it down......it wouldn't let him cancel it altogether. So no use to try to send me messages that way, but the blog is good.
Bill and I have been trying to find a way to meet up with Stew when he is here, but we can't do it. I am so disappointed, would so love to have a visit. Wont be able to see Lyn this time, either. I wont travel in winter now...our 8 hours sitting on the side of the road in a blizzard put the kybosh on that....but also, we are the only clergy in the area, so have to be available for services and emergencies. Some days I just want to be FREE!!!
Not much here to tell. Kell is down in Arizona taking a spell from the winter we haven't had yet! She loves the heat, so Char and Kate sent her down to the house with Dan for her birthday. She should be home in a day or two. May stay with Kate for a day before she comes home. She wont stay away too long for Peter misses her.
I had best go. I have 2 hours ironing to do.....back is bad, so I lower the board and sit on a chair to do the small stuff. Bill and I have to go to Winnipeg tomorrow night to do a presentation on our ministry system...other churches are thinking of doing the same, we will help them make a decision for or against. Thursday is our Remembrance service.
Bill is in the Colour Party, I do the sermon and prayers. I hope we wont be too late getting home from the city. We have had a few lovely warmish days with sun. We BBQ'd the past 3 nights. Think of Lisa as we sit out, wine in hand, cooking our meal! We are baby sitting a little dog, not Rosie....and finding it not so easy this time. The trips to the bathroom (Out side!!) 2 and 3 times during the night, we are both tired. Her mum is in Australia .....her husband died earlier this year, and she needed time out. Must go people, I have so much to get through today, and it takes me twice as long to do half as much these days. So love to all. Hockey has started and we are again fund raising for our Complex! We sit and try to plan our trip home next year. Dont know what we will do except go out home. Love to all. Mona

Well I loaded these pictures well over a week back and had intended on sending out all birthday wishes at the time but had to race off to school and haven't been able to get back here since :o/

Well I think this coming one is week 7 at school so it's only 3 & 1/2 weeks left 'til school hol's. Hallelujah!
Went to church this morning and for the first time in ages the kids wanted to come with me and so they did. Good thing too because the Sunday school teachers were passing out little dilly bags with bits n' pieces and a book also to each child so they were pretty pleased with that.
We have had fantastic weather here. Lots of cool days and I've been loving it. Must be the only person who is enjoying it. Everyone alse in Sydney is complaining about it. Pretty warm today though but unable to hop in the pool as it's too dirty and loaded with mozzie larvea. Tony will drain half the water out this evening, clean the bottom then fill 'er up again and toss in some chlorine to clean it up. Deck is finished but we need some 'outdoor carpet' on it yet. Maybe after xmas we might get a few bucks together to get some.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to little Big Sister for the 17th, Raelee on the 18th, Wendy yesterday and Mum today. Hope everyone had nice days, although I think Meg may have been forgotten. I sent off a text message at about 4am that day but still didn't have her card ready and as yet I still haven't sent it. Be a bit of an anti-climax now so I'll redo the card and give it next year. Mum forgot all about her and I don't know whether the brothers remembered or not. Jacob and Marcus did so that was nice at least.
Last time I was up at Mums I bought up on dog food for Brucie. Made sure he had plenty of dry food as well as canned. Mum phones me about a week back and asked how much tin food I gave him. She said she gets about 3 meals from a can. I said that was about right only she'd been giving him tinned food every night and had run out. So the following night (after running out) she felt bad when he was ready and wagging his little stump for dinner so opened a can of Campbells Heart Beef Stew for him. The night after that she cooked him up a couple of eggs. That was when she decided it was time to call me. I laughed, I could just imagine Brucie sitting up to hot fresh fried eggs for dinner. Seems he hasn't been doing his intended job either. He was supposed to be a security alarm if anyone were around (he never shut-up here) but doesn't even bother to give a little woof. Must think he's at Shady Palms Retirement Home or something like it. Greg comes and takes him out for a drive or to the beach. Naturally Bruce loves it.
I'm sitting here struggling to keep my eyes open. Saturdays are my only sleep-in day, 8 o-clock being a sleep-in but Angelina wakes me "Come on Mummy it's morning time, get up". Church today so no sleep-in. I might sign off and try for a Nana Nap now. Take care everyone,

Bernice Again!
Bloody thing I posted to pic's only one come out anyway..that last photo of the Lil Butcher bird is Tom feeding it..by hand the cheeky Lilttle bird actually comes into her kitchen and waits on the bench to be fed!! she loves it..Tom I mean okay I wil try and post the other Pic its Nathile ,Me Ken and Tom.. here goes..catch ya later! xx

Hi All..I have had soo much trouble trying to get into the :Blog' it kept asking me ..My google email address I don't have one ended up putting in moocultapay etc etc blog address they said error then next sec I was in ! bloody stupid..what is the Google address the same as the blog address? Anyway...all is well here we have had such a mad month...Halloween went well was great as always!!! Ken and I went up to see Tom and Greg for two days last Tuesday was great to get away and enjoyed our time there Tom's well a bit lonely but still getting around well..Meg's Boys great...lovely boys those two..Meg wasn't there such a shame we missed her too..She's holidaying up the Gold Coast' poor thing..Greg is good. We called into My brother's on the way up was nice too as I don't see him much...also some old Bourke friends who we hadn't seen for 8 years, also went over to see Toni-lee family and Nathile they are all good also, so was a very eventful 2 days!
Ken is back to work tomorrow...until Xmas then he has 4 or 5 weeks off we are off to Jane's for Xmas again this year!!! Really looking forward to it too..Love that family and we have such a wonderful time with all of them! Stewart and Lisa, Ron, Marge and Steve will all be there too so will be great!!!!

Good grief, Howdy, Crikey (not in that order but sounds better) and all the rest for the last half dozen posts. Thank you so much Bernice, I'll try to get a letter off to them real soon. I'd like to do these things when the kids get to sleep but I think I've said it before; I lay down with them on Angelina's bed and more often than not fall asleep there myself. Because their room is so dark and not facing the main road so is less noisy, I tend to have a sounder sleep so I don't mind. The other night I was flipping through songs on my ipod but before I knew it it was half twelve or thereabouts so I went into our room (I think Tony was shocked to see me :o/). Sure enough, half an hour later Angelina shows up. She senses that I'm not there and comes looking for me.
Also Bernice would you email me your procedures that you go through with preparing your bottles etc for your brews? Tony still hasn't started it and I want to get started myself as this warm weather will hit soon and I'd like to make sure there are plenty of coldies in the fridge :o). Cheers, thank you.

Aunt Mo', I don't know how you and Uncle Bill manage to keep up with all the things you do. I'm flat out trying to get to church on time. Don't know when the last time was when I made it before the service started :o/. I missed it completely last Sunday, didn't wake up 'til 9am and the service starts at 9:30.
Aunty Kell it is concerning isn't it? The 'Speaker' voted in this year in Federal Parliament over here is Muslim. There are a few Muslim local members of parliament and like Canada, it won't be long before they're running the joint. All the worlds calamities and catastrophes are a sign of things to come, prophesied to come... I hope you are able to get 'fill-ins' so you can go away for your birthday. That is lovely of the girls to do that for you. Also I did enjoy your ecards. It was lovely to be remembered. It was Marks birthday Saturday just passed. I don't think he opens cards but am not certain. He's always so busy and rarely gets time for personal mail.
Like Meg said, there'll probably be another big birthday bash for Mum, ha haaa. Poor old dear, she is very lonely but doesn't like to leave the house as she's pobably told you why. She was very good there for a while but things have changed again :o(. I'd like her to go for a walk up to Megs or Gregs, just to get out and enjoy the day but she's reluctant to. It's not far away at all, not at the speed she walks. Yes she still goes like the wind but not gale force anymore, just wind and it does knock her up but I don't think her brain is wired to 'slow'. Still and all she only gets up there if Meg or Greg take her and she does enjoy it when she goes. Greg took her to his place the other week and she thoroughly enjoyed it. We'd all like her to move in with Greg as then she'd feel safer and be even closer to Meg and the boys and not alone all the time. She would, only she likes the convenience of where she is as she can just walk around to the newsagent/post-office, IGA (supermarket) or hairdressers. Ah well, what can you do ay?
Big Girl your work always fascinates me and these days it must be so difficult for the 'real' nurses out there. You guys know what it used to be like and how good it used to be. Most nurses these days 'know' stuff but are not too capable of putting knowledge into practice or simply don't care. I was left in Cas' up here for 6 hours while staff ambled by and chatted at the nurses station. *****just wrote a big paragraph there but it wasn't needed so deleted it *****
Nurses, 'Real' nurses are worth so much more...
Tony got done by the Council rangers last week. Pulled up out front of the school to drop Giancarlo off but he was too close to the pedestrian crossing. The fine arrived yesterday, wait for iiiit; $344-. Yes you read right. F^%*ing three hundred and fourty four dollars. Like bloody hell!
P&C had written to the Council about disability parking at the school as the only disable park has gone due to construction in the school grounds. The Secretary from P&C has told me not to pay it as she wants to contest the fine on our behalf. Praise the Lord, I pray He will help her out.
The vege patch is overgrown. Only from vege plants as we don't have much room so over-sowed the patches. The basil smells beautiful though. Have to powder and spray for the grubs and bugs though :o$ little mongrels...
Angelina answered the phone the other day while I was on the extension and I'm buggered if I know what she's done with the handset. She doesn't know, of course! I have searched the bedroom (where she answered it and was playing) but will have to pull things apart I guess.
Coles have been having a promo for every $10 spent they provide a voucher worth 1 point (I have no idea the value of a point but it wouldn't be much) for your local school to put toward sports equipment. This has been going for the last couple of months. I took in all my receipts this morning and must've got about 200 vouchers back. She girl gave me at least a book of extra vouchers as the promo only goes for one more week and they must have lots of vouchers left over so I will go in on the last day and beg if I have to for their remaining tickets.
I have just laminated one of Giancarlo's awards (for Public Speaking this time) as they are few and far between I like to make sure they're preserved, posterity or whatever. The damned laminator keeps chewing it up though. I have run it through several times to straighten it but think I will just put it under a pile of books to flatten the creases. Same thing happened with another item I laminated, a picture of Snoopy in his Red Baron kit that Dad brought home when he worked at the PMG. I managed to run that one through a few more times and straightened it out a bit.
I have to go to Bankstown to pickup Mums hearing aids for her. The hearing company won't post them to her. We were supposed to go that way today to go to the hardware centre but Tony has been cactus the last couple of days so we didn't get there. I will try to go out myself on Friday if Tony's still not able to get up.
Tomorrow is orientation for Kindergarten for next year. I have to take Ange' with me and bring her twice a week for the next couple of weeks to see what it's all about. This'll be a challenge with all her separation problems of late but one of the teachers introducing the new'ns is Giancarlo's current yr2 teacher so hopefully Hokey will be able to join Ange' in class to make her a little more at ease.
I have also enlisted Hokey into a swimming program through the school that starts in a week or two and goes for a couple of weeks to prepare the young'ns more adequately (I assume) for the upcoming holidays). I took him to lessons two years ago but he spent more time sitting on the pools edge because he was buggerising (one of Mums words) about too much so I stopped it. Might be more successful this year, I hope...
We spread lawn seed and top soil on the front yard last week and with two days of rain and a couple of warm ones following we now have a hazy green fuzz out there. Hopefully by the time the 'real' heat hits it will be nice enough to sit out there in the afternoons when the sun goes behind the house. Looks so much nicer with that plants around the fence and all that other crap cleaned out of the bed in front of the patio and also under the lounge window. I just now took some pics but think I'll wait until the lawn grows up some.
It started off quite warm out there this morning then about a half hour ago it was dark and cloudy with some thunder and a cool 'rainy feeling' breeze but is now sunny. Still clouds about so we may get another soaking. According the the weather the whole East Coast is supposed to be drenched before weeks end.
It's time to go collect my wil one so I'll sign off now and wish you all good health and happiness.

Hello all,
Aunty Kell I am writing back to you as it is not often that I am acknowledged. On the nursing front the changes over the past 20 odd years is phenomenal. I still love my job but if I could go back to the way it was back then I would love it 2 fold. I know exactly what you mean. The emphasis is no longer on nursing but putting a bum in a bed and following up with mounds of paperwork. And I mean mounds of it. On an admission now I have to document the patients demographic data no less than 8 times, if a cannula goes in its 10, fluids up, 12 times and we have not even got to the nursing notes or if they are to be transferred out then it keeps on going. Then more documents if a medication assessment is to be done!!!!!!!!! Now for example I had a 35 year old Queenslander here for a wedding who had an acute attack of chrones disease. Poor bloke was in agony, the Doctor was in bed, the other RN was handling the next ambo case. I admitted him, cannulated him, gave him maxalon and morphine IV, also a dose of Hydrocortisone and started IV Flagyl on him. I yelled through the door to the Dr what my management plan was, he grunted, I said again are you happy with that? Grunted again. By 7am he still had not been in to see the fellow. Fortunately I got it right and his pain had gone from 10/10 to 2/10. He was flying home to Queensland to go straight to hospital up there. This Doctor was from Melbourne. The one I have on tonight is from NZ, he is Scottish born and bred is also a builder by trade and grew up in South Africa!!! His name- Mustafa, the one the week before was Moyad- no need to tell you his nationality. The day Doctor is so dangerous in my eyes that I refuse to do day shifts, she is a bloody litigation waiting to happen. Her name Dr Dottie. Yes by name and by nature. The other Day Doctor is Indian I think, but he is ok with the few dealings that I have had with him. Its a nightmare. More often than not when we are trying to transfer patients out to John Hunter Hospital or the Calvery Marter there are bed blocks on because the ambulances are backed up at the doors there and they cant off load patients till beds become available, thus no ambos on the road. It took me 7 hours to get a patient out the other night. So no wonder that what was once the responsibility of the Dr's is now starting to fall back on the nursing staff. I could whinge and bitch about it all but despite all the grievances, I wouldn't change my profession for quids. Its always a challenge, seeing how fast you can get a transfer out, or a patient placed if needed. The other night we had 1 patient in ED, and 3 ambos arrived at once!!! There are only 2 of us on a night shift plus the DR. Also had to manage the waiting patients in triage and those on the ward. My goodness I am good at time management. Now don't forget the bloody documentation. I am hearing what you say. I hope you have a wonderful birthday. I don't know what we will do for Mum, probably another big party bash!!! Yea right.
Have not long come back from my beach walk, it was a glorious afternoon, 2 trotters were down there getting their workout for the day, a few surfers and fishermen, but I just kept on walking west into the sunset. Would have loved to have kept on going but then getting back would take that much longer. I am suppose to be off tonight so didnt have a sleep this morning when I got home. I did all the ironing another load of washing went over the unit with a fine tooth comb except for the boys room. Then I walked down to the Blue Juice cafe ( the one on the beach where we stopped and you took photos) and had a coffee. It was so nice and relaxing until a bus load of Asians arrived jibbering away. So I came back home and started to pull the clover out of the tiny patch of grass beside the unit. Now I have to go and get these two starving young men of mine some dinner have a shower and go back to work. Give Uncle Peter a hug for me. Oh by the way, my boys indulge in the Hershey bars and peanut butter cups-Reeses that the Cafe on the Bay sells, they also have Pop tarts & Root beer you can imagine the costs of the items.

Dear Family,
As usual, it has been awhile since I talked to you all. Mainly, there just isn't any news. Life seems
to be stuck in "rear gear" these days. Winter is beginning to rear his ugly head, & I am NOT welcoming him. The very thought seems to make me shiver. Peter not showing much change. He
Is ALWAYS ready to "go home"! Asks at every visit if we are going home now? I go at least once
a day, & I just long for the opportunity to stay home occasionally, just to have a whole day to
myself. I feel very selfish when I think that way, but life is slipping by, & each day, NOT much to show for it!!
Mo would like to come over for a few days, just to "get away" from it all. However, it isn't as easy as it might sound. She is having health problems too, which doesn't help much.
I am really looking forward to Stews' visit. He wont be here for long, & I DO want to take him to Montana. There is no snow there yet, but should be some by the end of Nov. He arrives in Calgary Nov. 25th, fairly early I think. We will see Charlotte & Steve before we head to Pincher Cr. Probably down to Whitefish the next day. IF there is any snow here, we will go to Westcastle for him to try our ski hill. Because we get a lot of the warm (ha. ha. ha) Pacific Air here, we frequently lose our snow. (Oh. TOO BAD. I HATE snow. So THERE.) Anyway, with a bit of luck, he will be able to ski here, before he returns to Whistler, then home. Whistler is a fantastic skiing area, when they get enough snow. He will enjoy it. I've never been to skiing
areas in Japan, so can't compare Whistler, ( or anywhere else for that matter) to Japan. I think Stew goes there most winters for skiing. However, he can make his comparison when he tries it in Whistler, here, & in Whitefish. There isn't too much variety here at Westcastle. Mostly black
diamond, with a few green & blue. Our kids used to love it, but I found it very challenging.
Stew no doubt is better than I ever was.
Calgary has just elected their first MUSLEM mayor. That's just the beginning. Now you will see Muslims running for every election, & there are enough of them to vote, we will VERY soon be
governed by them. No one seems to care, or to look into the future, & see what is in store for the whole world. All very scary I think. ( it is 7.00pm, so I am going to eat, & will finish later tonight. Seems there is always something going on during the day, computer has to wait till the
pm. Time spent at Vista certainly doesn't help. One is EXPECTED to volunteer on a regular basis, even though we pay well for the privilege of living there. Peter knows that it is NOT home. He always asks if we are going home now? When are we going home??
8.00pm now. Steve just rang, they are coming down tomorrow Friday, back on Sunday. Peter does like to see the littlies. However, too much movement seems to get to him.
Meg, nursing seems to have taken a few steps backwards. It must be very hard to work in the
hospitals now. Every time you talk about your work, I feel sad for you, as it used to be such a good, rewarding profession. However, I would not like to be in the work force now. I don't think conditions are too bad here. However, attitude is not what it used to be.
There is a "bed bug"plague in Ontario & Quebec. The reports we get here are hair-raising. VERY scary. We just pray the little buggars don't hitch a ride over here. The most respectable
establishments are NOT spared. Households, as well as acommadation establishments, are all suffering. ( I blame the Muslims!)
All the floods & fires in Europe, Asia & Russia are making us all think, "who is next"? We heard
that Qld. had some pretty serious flooding, but didn't see where. Hope it wasn't too bad. We all
need some GOOD news for a change.
Charlotte rang me a few days ago, & asked "where do you want to go for your birthday??"
"What do you mean ""where do I want to go"??. "I mean WHERE do you want to go? Kate & I want to take you on a trip!!" (Australia wasn't an option!!) " Phoenix sounds pretty nice now that the temps. are cooling off" I replied. "O. K., I'll tell Kate Phoenix it is."!! I don't know yet
when we will leave, but they insist we be away for the actual date. Now, I am looking forward to it. Warmth sounds better, every time I hear it. I will have to "move the finger" & get substitutes
for my duties while we are gone, but can't take much action till I know the dates. I'll have to get
friends to visit Peter. I do hate to ask, as he doesn't have much conversation these days, but a week or so is too long for him not to have at least a few visits. Steve will probably bring the childa down for another visit, so that would take care of a week-end. Peter mostly sleeps, so
anyone who would visit, wouldn't have to stay too long.
I'm just rambling again, so will post this now, & hope I will have a trip to Phoenix to tell you about in my next post. Mo & I think of you all, & talk about everyone when we ring. We never miss a birthday, but with the time change, ringing isn't always an option. I used to send e-cards for all B'days, & anniversaries. However, most times you didn't open them, so I quit sending!! Now we just wish you all
happies" to each other, & wonder what you are doing to celebrate etc. Anyway "hooroo" for now. Hope to hear from someone soon. It was good to hear from Sara & Bernice. Lin, where are
you?? I will try & ring in the next few days. What are you doing? Any travel plans?? love to all.
