Janes' missing paragraph

Hi
For all those who read Janes last entry it is now missing a paragraph. Lisa asked me to remove a bit about her work and Jane knows I am taking it off, it is confidential and so is now removed.

Now Miss Janie, when you sign in and want to do a post go to posting then create don't write in the template that is were you are going wrong it just stays there.

I have had a busy day like every one else but I promise on the week end or Friday to write a LONG blog.
love to all and hope Johno and Aunty Wynn are both well.

Jane and Patrick

Hi every one I got on here tonight and it was like Christmas every one blogging. During the holidays I was checking every couple of hours. Auntie Mona so glad your on blog and every one else.

Oh where do I start. Butcherbird???? I was reading Bernice's blog and I kept thinking butcherbird who the hell is that I proceded further and got it !!! finally. Love the name Little Meggy. I am so glad it is going well for you.

So good to hear from our Bernice I just love it all.
.Are any children doing their H.S.C this year? (Any Tully girls? Toni-Lee are any of yours doing it?) Sebastian is doing chemistry even though he is in Yr. 11 he will get that over with and then next year he will be one less subject He has been accelerated in chemistry as chemistry is usually a pre- requisite for most sciences at Uni. Good luck in the trials to any one who is doing their H.S.C.

Brydie is down at the snow at the moment on a school skiing trip having the time of her life.We are down to 2 children too strange I don't like it. We were a little concerned about how she would go with the cold being a child brought up in the tropics. She hasn't found it too bad. I chuckle when I hear how cold it has been for every one as we have found it an incredibly cold Winter for us it has actually got down to 17degrees. Patrick has actually had to wear a jumper to work (now it is cold when he has to wear a jumper to work we all know it is cold)

Anthea is completing her final assessment task for Uni and then she has 8 weeks of prac and she is finished. I find it incredibly surreal to think I have a child finished Uni it only seems like yesterday that I was there. She has started job hunting. She wants to go inland or Northern Queensland no doubt she will be snapped up as they are always looking for Science teachers.

Asha is great she is in her second year of Law doing well every thing must be OK on the boyfriend front as we haven't heard from her in a few days.!!!!

Grace had her first debate today ( all my children are debaters ) And her team won. The topic "That N.S.W should protect its water supply and not share it with Q.L.d) they were the negative and they won. She was very excited.

Patrick is great busy which is good in training for the Brisbane Bridge to Bridge run. He did the Gold coast marathon a couple of weeks ago (only the 10k run not the 35k one.

I am back into the swing of things with sport and running the children around School back busy getting Yr. 12 ready for exams.

Mum and dad are good spoke to Stewart 2 days ago he is great.
Meg about Schools. Different schools suit different children no-one school is better than the other my advice is don't listen to the "carpark marfia" and you see how Marcus gets on. Often the loudest mouths are the ones who complain the most and they are not the majority but rather the minority.(What year is he in 9 or 10?)

Auntie Mona In terms of Health funds for Johno, i was talking to Patrick (as Health Funds are a very major part of our income) John can still join one however if he was to join now they would not cover chemo or any of his cancer treatment as it is classed as a pre-existing condition. In terms of cancer patients the public health really looks after them he would be getting the best treatment he needs. Patrick said in all honesty it really would not be worth the money for Johno to join now. I would say that the majority of us would all be in Health funds but we have been in them for a while.( a long time.

Bernice hope you enjoyed your family coming (silly thing to say I know you would have.

Happy Birthday Belinda for the 29th. We hope that you had a great birthday.

Now where is Sara? I miss reading all about the children blog on Sara.

Love and kisses to every one keep blogging Love Jane xxxxx

Johnno.

Morning all. Me again. I just talked to John. He is OK, but is to go for Chemotherapy on 9th August. He didn't find out anything about it, doesn't know how many treatments, etc. It would be good if some of you would phone him, he is a bit worried naturally. The doctor told him that without the Chemo. he would give him 5 years. I stressed the importance of his going for the treatment. He is exercising more....and will more as he gets used to it. Says he has lost some weight, has a lot to go. Hasn't had a beer in 5 weeks!!! but is going down on Fri. night to have a 'few'. I told him to take it cool, it will sneak up fairly fast when he hasn't been drinking.
I phoned Kell and told her, and she is going to phone Cec to see if she knows any more, will let me know if there is anything to report. Does anyone know anything about Health Insurance John isnt covered and I think he really needs to be. Any info. from anyone would be good.
Must go. Keep him in your prayers. Love to all. Mona

Butcher bird

Im back hello all its 11pm and I have just got Greg signed up to wireless broadband.I have had the devil of a time trying to get a card to fit my laptop.telstra have sent me 3!!!! and none fit so now Im going to the usb mobile card and nothing will stop me then.I love the butcher bird title Bernice and will have to incorporate it into an email address at some time.Well Im loving life here its great.Busy of course but that is the way I like my life. Some mornings I get up at 5 and get going, do the washing etc and any bookwork that I havn't done the night before.I get Marcus up at 6:15 so that he can be ready to walk out the door here at Gregs at 7am. We drive over to Lemon Tree and he catches the school bus from outside of the shop at 7:45.Of course he raids the drinks fridge and then goes outside and hangs with the kids.we watch him chatting up the girls through the big glass windows and torment him.He loves it. He likes the school Hunter river high but I dont think the teachers focus much on the average kid.only the ones that are academic.Do you know anything about the school Lisa. One lady gave me a horrible report on it today and she took her 15 year old boy out and sent him to Tomaree High school. We dont see much of Greg with his shift work, marcus sees more of him than I do.Because I go to the shop on weekends.Garry is staying at his mum and dads and we were invited to stay there too.I have for a couple of nights but am not keen on that as a long term solution to the housing situation. We went to the bank to see if we could borrow a few dollars without having to delve into investment money of garrys but they wont look at us at the moment because we are a liablilty with the business.Once we have had it for 12 months there wont be a problem. But I dont want to wait that LONG!!Ive looked at a few rentals and the price of rent makes me want to cry,its ridiculous. In the morning we are going off to look at a 2 storey brick home on the water front with landscaped gardens. But I dont want anything big at this stage and I dont want gardens to have to worry about.I was talking to Heather who runs the fish & chip shop 2 doors down from us and she put me onto the shack next to her shop and I mean a shack, Janey babe you would die if you saw it.Its only 2 bedrooms and is a holiday shack owned by a Dr Ian Stewart from Maitland.there hasnt been anybody in it for 5 months so Garry got onto the Dr tonight and did a bit of negotiating.I want to live there, no driving, minimal area to clean, if someone is on the toilet we can duck up and use the shops loo.i can duck home and put the vegies on for tea, get the washing out and in etc etc.the water is 50metres away.Oh so right for the butcherbird I feel.
I have to tell you about Marcus the other day.I was off somewhere and he had gone and bought a bacon and egg roll from heathers and walked over to the water to eat it.Only a fin popped right up near him and he got a fright and dropped his roll in the water.he thought it was a shark but it was a dolphin and a whole pod came through eating the blackfish. He went back to heathers and asked for another roll, she said he must be hungry then he told her the story.(he didnt tell me mind you, heather told me).I can see the dolphins of a morning as they come up the passage, they frolick for ages out the front then move on.How lucky am I to see such a sight. We have the prime realestate in Lemon Tree.I love the work in the shop, and we are just so busy.So many customers are coming back because they didnt like the previous owner and all have a tale to tell, its great for us and heis our best advertisement!!! So all is going well on this side of things.Luke is being a right ******** I got a letter from the solicitor saying now that Luke doesn't want the house rented out before its sold.Well when I can get hold of this solicitor the S*** will hit the fan.She hasnt returned my phone calls and I am jack of it.I am going to shaft her and get a solicitor Greg and Sara know and put it in his hands.I might not get anything out of this but Im also going to make sure he doesn't either.
Anyway, i had better get to bed,its 11:15pm and Ive got a load of washing to hang out for Greg.He is at work at the moment and doesnt get home till about 9am.Silly bugger cut the big gum tree down out the front all bar 1 branch that was toooo close to the power lines. In the process he fell out of the tree when the branch he was standing on was broken by the one that he felled above him.It was a horrible rainy windy night when he did it so that he could make out the wind broke the trees branches off.he was lucky he didnt kill himself.Has a few scratches to the handsome face but nothing that will scare.Marcus has his big tramp set up in the back yard here and spends a couple of hours of an evening on it with Gregs dogs.He hasnt had the desire to go surfing with uncle greg yet and I dont blame him.it must be freezing in the water.Im all over the place now so I will say goodnight and sorry for the long speil but Im OK
Love to all
meg

This is our Festival Weekend. Base ball, ATV mud bog (really fun. 15 compeditors) Hot air baloons (would LOVE to go up, but at $200. a go, I cant afford it this year. Just replaced our Air conditioning, am re siding the house, burying the electric and telephone cables, MEGA $. Maybe next year. We are home now...it was too hot for Princess out side...but go over to the school for the last of the air baloons at 7pm. Temp. went to 39 to day...snow looks good! We have had beer gardens all day for 2 days..very popular! pan cake breakfast this am (good, with sausages)

It has been a full weekend, I hope the committee did well financially. Princess Rosie is asleep on the chair beside me...claims it as HER chair. Bill came in one day and sat in it to read something on the computer.....she barked till go got up to see what was upsetting her, she jumped straight up into the chair and settled down!! She is so fun. We love having her. She came everywhere with us over the week end and was so good. Now the big blue line has gone and taken the sign out part with it !! OK, found it. Now do you Post or sign out first?

Signing Out

Hi Aunty Mo
Just a quick note as I should be finishing the ironing, but hey I guess 2 minutes want hurt.
When you finish writing on the blog you should sign out, its the same place as signing in, up on the right hand corner on the blue strip.

It was nice and sunny today after the fog lifted so I have pruned all my roses and now have lots of scratches all over my hands.

The girls went and got their Harry Potter books yesterday. Hannah has finished and Lauren is about half way through. So not much happened until they finished and I know how it ends so no need to read it.

There are a few links to places we (jessup) family have stayed for christmas. there is always only about 20 - 30 of us so not as big as the Paytons but some where like this may be on the beach if we can find it would be good, great for the Canadian kids.

Greetings from Grafton #2!

Hi All,
Lisa again. Just sat down to the computer again and looked at our screen saver. Thought of the discussion on screen savers - with Meg in January. Here is a photo of our screen saver, taken at the Border Ranges National Park, where we camped in the last holidays. It was awesome.
hope you all have a great week,
love Lisa

Greetings from Grafton

Hello all, hope everyone is well and happy.
Lovely sunny Sunday afternoon and I find myself at leisure, hence I have the time to ramble!
Sara, where are you? Miss your blog posts.
Meg, how is it all going in your new abode and work?
All is great here. Had a big weekend. Went up to Lenox Head to help Ronny's brother do some painting in his restaurant yesterday, then an early start today back home. I had a three hour hockey training session this morning(field hockey - for the Canadians!), and am quite tired, to say the least! Have a 1/2 State Vets. carnival next weekend, and if I think I am tired now, I know I will be a shot duck next Sunday afternoon!!!
Mum and Dad are well, too busy as usual, but they enjoy it that way!
Aunty Wyn is great. Looking good too. She has found a friend at the nursing home, and they share a joke and have a go at each other, was good to watch.
Will be heading down to Sydney to mark the Drama HSC practical exam late August, so I hope to catch up with Sara.
Next week we dog sit three small dogs, Ronny's brother's. Ronny is excited about them coming. They are used to our yard and down stairs, so it should be fun.
Will write on behalf of Jane now - Brydie was 15 yesterday, and she had a 'dinner party' for 12 of her friends to help her celebrate! Have not heard how it went, but Brydie was excited when I spoke to her late yesterday afternoon. Am sure it went well.
well, now I have the time, but not much to say really.
If anyone wants a reunion again, I will organise it, if you want. Just set the date! Aunty Mona, when are you coming over again, and we can plan around that date?
Love to all,
cheers,
Lisa

Reply to all

So Good Morning! And so far it is a good morning, temp 23 but is to go to 30, so The Princess Rosie and I are inside with the air on !! Now Kelly would be outside, scrubbing in the garden and loving it!
A couple of things to reply to. Jess, thanks for the news on Chrissie. So sorry for the family. She had a long battle, didn't she? I didn't know you could be buried on your private property?
Lyn, yes, get on with the plans for the next get together. I think I heard 2010? Book me a room! Toni...good to hear from you. You youngens cant know how good it is for us, so far away, to get your news. I think the Blog has brought everyone closer, now we can keep up with each other....GOOD WORK, LYN!!
Not much in the way of news. We have Princess for a week or so, and I dont get anything done while she is here. We play and walk a lot, both of which she loves.
You likely are not interested, but I will tell you anyway, the crops are looking really good. Some starting to turn, flax is in bloom,we will soon be in harvest...it is my favourite time of the year....winter follows close behind!!
One of the 6 Canadians killed overseas 3 weeks ago, came from Clearwater, 8 miles from us.Only 20, wonderful boy, liked by all. Very sad funeral. (Mum used to work for me) Bill is still working (volunteer) at the sports complex. He has to take some time soon, I want to re side the house ...have the siding, green, looks good....not on the walls yet!! We are to go to Pincher in Sept. Bill wants to go or come home, on the US route. He has been nagging about it, and I always have a car loaded with stuff to take and to bring home and it is never convenient!! So I told him to plan on this trip, and we will come home that way. Will spend a day or so with Kate if it is convenient for them.
Lyn, some time ago you said Jane hadn't signed off at the end of her message.
Now I have looked and looked and I cant find a place to sign off. So if this throws everyone out, sorry! If I am not looking in the right place, someone please tell me where to look! Best go, I have no news, just talk on and on. I think it is this Mon. or Tues. that John reports back to his Doctor. I will call him on Wed. to see how he is. Much love to all, and do keep writing. Melissa, where are you? Jess, more on your living arrangements, please!! Bernice, how are you and Ken? The Princess is barking up a storm, someone may be coming...then again, it may just be someone out on the road, barking is what she does best !! Love Mona

Happy Mothers day from Canberra

I am reposting this in the hopes that the date changes and it will start moving down
Hi All

Hope every one is well. It's starting to cool down in Canberra which I should expect as it is only a few weeks until winter. It's saturday evening, Hannah has gone out and Lauren is watching TV. I have just spent an hour installing a second screen I am using my laptop as the hardrive and the new 19inch screen so I can view my design pages better. And no I don't need new glasses as I hear you all say just get your eyes tested. I also bought an extra gig of memory but the card is faulty so back to the computer store tomorrow. I am not used to this computer stuff Bill always does it so god knows what I have done, I just went by what the guy at the shop said . Dumb blonde moment!!!!!

Well tomorrow is mothers day and I hope all us mums have a nice day and happy mothers day to all my aunts who have been so good to me, I consider myself lucky to be a Payton.

I am going to do a bit of scanning and will try and put up some old photos.

Hey Bernice do you remember entertaining Jane and I in your caravan. We thought we were so cool.

Someone has adjusted setting and my posts drop to the bottom so I will have a look and see if I can fix it.

Happy Mothers Day xxx Belinda

Ps Couldn't help myself just had to load a few photos from the reunion. Does any one use flickr to store and share photos? I might just load them all up to flickr and every one can access what they want when they want.

ok Photos not loading will try again later

I Have found the Problem

Janie had saved her post in the template I have cleared it and hopefully the page will be clear from now on.

And I must say if Jane was 44 I must be 45 next week good, does that mean my wrinkles will revert to?

I think we will have to get on to the next reunion as a year has gone already.

Its Snowing

And I hate it!!!!!! Not much news in Canberra, The girls have just arrived back from Sydney, they went down yesterday and but tonight just a little shopping they thought.
Just like Janes Kids they still love Harry Potter and are off at 6am this Saturday to get the new book, do breakfast with their cousin and god knows what else.

Things are hotting up in the Capital for the election very gov department is thinking about what changes are coming and how it will effect them. They all just want to keep their jobs.

I am still doing my web course and am suprised at how much i am enjoying it. I guess good skills to have as you can work anywhere, perhaps Canada could be good.

Nothings changed in our house and no other news,

Hope Meg you have settled in and I don't like that you are so far away now I miss you.

love to All Belinda XXX

Lovely summer

G'day all,

Boy, can this site create some problems!!. No trouble opening the site, but MAJOR problems trying to post. "Site not available", "Wrong usename", "Wrong password", you name it, the site won't accept it. One has to be VERY patient.
Janes' first message was still in the "post a blog" space. It did erase, but am not sure if this will "post" after I'm done.

Summer DID arrive, & has given us beautiful days since. Temps. from 26 t0 38. I think I am the only one who enjoys 38, but as I remind everyone, it's ONLY 2 1/2 months to snow, so ENJOY & shut up!!

This has been one of the best years for fruit! Wonderful big, sweet mangos. PawPaws best ever. Melons, stoned fruit, grapes. Everything sweet, big, & to use a good old Canadian expression "VERY FLAVOURFUL"!! (Only in Canada, drop the "u"!!)

(next part is mainly for Jane.)
Jane, I dare say you are back at work by now, so you may not log on very often. However, I'll answer your questions, just in case you are 'playing around". I've actually tried to reply sooner, but see above for delay. The hockey in Boston was ice hockey school. The two boys arrived home late last night. Dan is playing in a golf tornament this am in a town way south of Whitefish. A pretty little town, by the lake. I am sure it would have been hard for him to get up this am, as they would have talked well into the night!!! Of course, you can do ANYTHING to get to golf or hockey!! (Oh! the joy of being young!!) There is a little field hockey played here, but it is not popular. More over in Ont. than in the west. I am not surprised that your fam. is into field (grass) hockey, looking back at Aunty Lisa!! And speaking of Lisa, since I did not have your e-mail address, I sent your birthday greetings to her e-mail. You were going to be at the races there anyway. Hope you got it. Steve & Jo have since given me your add. They did inform me of your pending arrival, & Steve has started on the spare bedroom, to make sure it will be ready!
My space is permanently ready!! We do have sking here, about 27 miles away. More for advanced skiers, but there are some intermediate runs, & one beginner run. It was never my favourite sking spot. I like Lake Louise & Kananaskis, as I feel the cold, & it seems warmer there.
Havn't skied for a few years, not since Charlotte borrowed my skis! I think she has bought her own since. I will be waiting patiently for 2009!! Back to the childrens hockey. I can identify with what you say re: on the road. Kate & Doug do not have a weekend to themselves from the beginning (October) of the season, till the end. (March) Both boys play, & of course, in different leagues. Doug coaches Drews' team, & he plays on a senior mens team once a week. Alex has her involvements too.Volley ball, basketball, dancing & drama. All in all, not too much spare time in the Markus's life!! Peter & I get to quite a few of their games, some in Canada, some in Montana. They do play in other States, but we don't go to those games. Alex
also has her horses, so a busy time for all.

O.K. That's it for Jane!! (Oh! Pleased to hear about Sabastians' job! It sounds great, & good exposure for future employment.
(One must think of the future!!)

Sara, I am pleased to hear that you finally got your computer obeying. I know how time consuming they can be when not co-operating! ( Still think you should have opted for Mac.!!)

No news. We met up with Charlotte & children in Nanton, 90 odd miles from here, on Saturday. We had a B. B. Q., 30 miles closer, but met them there in a nice little park for a picnic. The girls played Bocce ball while Peter slept in the shade, & Char
& I got to visit. Char & Mike had an event at 5.00pm, so they had to leave fairly early. Our event was 30 odd miles back the way we came, but not till 6.00pm, so we read in the park till it was time to leave for the B. B. Q. Was a lovely evening, a fund-raiser for our MP. They had a dessert auction following, but Peter would only stay 30 minutes or so, & we had to hit the road for home. Was 10.30 when we arrived home, so he didn't get up till 10.00am, & refused to go to church. Too tired!!

Anyway dear family, I have no news, & am just pratteling. Have talked to John & Cec a few times. All seems well so far.

Take care all, & do please "blog" often. I'm like everyone else, I LOVE to check the site every day for new posts, alas, there usually aren't any!

I talked to Mo today. Last weekend was the final get - to -gether for "The Gathering of Nations", so she was feeling a bit sad.
I think Mo was one of the driving forces behind the festival when it started over 25 years ago. (I think.)
Lov to all. Kell

I'm back

Hello one and all. Finally have the pc connected etc. There was a conflict with the Telstra Bigpond software and the ACER computer software. All done and sorted so I won't go into detail.

Jane I hear so much accross the board of what a beautiful and loving family you have. I can only pray for the same but my son is sending me into early dementia. Baby crying, son is annoying her, must go and sit with them a while. Lovely sunny day but with the weeks of rain Hokey has become addicted to the tv. I've built the cubby but am not happy with it. Will post a pic' when I can get back on to fliker. Construction details too but I want it rebuilt. Later.

Went to Crookwell Saturday morning Aunty Kell. Back yesterday arv', mum wanted to get furniture out of Jacobs room and put in the shed and 'potter' about doing her thing. We did that but had to ask Megs Neighbour if he would move the big wardrobe as it was too much for mum and I. I uprooted the strwberries to bring home so I hope they survive.

I hear the loungeroom being destroyed. Must go. Will talk more when time permits. Love to all, Sara xxx

Oh Lin, I haven't forgotten to send the photo to you, just haven't got
round to it :o(

From Jane

Hi every one,
Bernice and Ken were here for lunch on Saturday and as usual nobody wanted them to leave. I was teary Anthea was also a bit red eye, how lucky are we to have them as our family. We had some nice steak and only a little bit of wine !!!!!! (ha ha). They both look fantastic.

Our family are well mum and dad are great they actually bought a new car we are all realing from the shock. Marjy very excited about it. I am on school holidays at the moment and the girls are also on uni break. They have been coming back wards and forwards to home usually only come home when they are broke, boyfriend troubles or no food.
Sebastian and I are off to Grafton on Wednesday to the races, Grafton Cup it will be a very big day and we will be totally entertained and indulged by Lisa and Ronny.
Brydie and Grace are going to Grandma's and Grandad's for the night as they feel that will be more exciting than the races.
Stewart is well Reggie is off the scene however, stewart seems to be getting on with life, actually he is probably the best I have seen him in a while.
I will close off here I will get Lisa to show me how to use the photo section and we will send some photos of the big race day.
Jane.

oops sorry every one

Hello every one
Oh! dear I have stuffed it up for every one the techno peasant that I am. Brydie is shaking her headtelling me how hopeless I am. I didn't sign out that is why Bernice and Belinda were having trouble. I am so sorry.

Well back from Grafton and we had a ball I abolutely love the country races. I backed some winners and just had a great time. Lisa and Ron were fabulous, Sebastian came with me and he brought his girlfriend along. the littlies stayed with mum and dad and they had a great time as well.

I am really enjoying this blog I think I am a little addicted I couldn't wait until I got back tonight and to see who had been on. This will change however, as the holidays are drawing to an end and once school goes back that will be the end.

I had a great birthday had every one home and we went out for dinner and nothing beats having all your children with you. I told Grace that I was 44 and she became very concerned pulled me aside and said "mummy I don't want to upset you however you can't be 44 if you were bonrn in 1961" I think that she was concerned that I was really losing it.

Patrick said he saw Auntie Cook last week she came down from the mountain usually pops in to see him if they are in town he said she was well they were off to somewhere and then to Bourke I think?>??

(This is for auntie Kell sorry to the rest of blogger receivers it might sound a little bit skity so skip this paragraph. I was interested in what you were saying about your grandsons off to hockey. Ice hockey or grass hockey?. The reason I was interested was that Brydie has just come back from playing for Q.L.D in the state championships she is quite a good hockey player. she spent a week in Bunderberg. all of the children play hockey our weekends in winter are spent on the hockey fields. this weekend we start at 6pm friday night and don't finish until midday on sunday 5 gamesd this weekend Grace has 2 catch up games. While I am hogging Auntie Kell The Egan' are coming to Canada Jan - Feb 2009. We can't come next year because Sebastian in doing his H.S.C (final year) he was planning on going over when he finished to do some skiing we have decided to all go. We have our Canada fund happening. Seb already has his ticket paid for Patrick announced he had 2 more through frequent flier (Grace told every one that they are for mum and her!!!!!) Sebastian has a part time job as a consier at a 5 star hotel he works one day a weekend it is a fantastic part time job he makes heaps of money (doesn't spend it relies on mum) so that was his plan to go over before he starts uni. He got the job through his surf patrol the manager of the hotelis in the same patrol as Sebastian and Patrick and he asked Patrick if Sebastian was interested. Fantastic Job. (just thought I would add this in he got life saver of the year this year.)

Sorry every one hope that wasn't too boring Harry Potter came out today so my children are seeing that so I am definitely going to sign out (right hand corner) as I have to go and pick them up. This blogging is great I want every one to blogg tell us every thing.
love Janexxxxxxx

Bernice and Ken

from Bernice & ken Hi everyone don't know how this will go i am actually typing above janes letter as it wouldn't let me have a blank page for some reason so hope this works??? Firstly HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!!! JANE... HAVE A GOOD ONE CHEERS!!!!
thanks for the lovely compliments, I feel so undeserving of them but thanks, I feel you are the lucky one to have not One but '5' of the most beautiful kids and people we have ever met, I could just eat them up. thanks for a great lunch and beautiful time. we loved it too. We had a lovely night with Stewart too he came down and then he drove us down to Jane's for lunch which was great of him and we spent some precious time with him.
Lisa thank you and ronny for a wonderful time as always thorughly enjoyed, for the blog Lisa made ken a 4 course meal for Ken's birthday absolutely delicious and made with love. she is such a great host, I could write on and on but i am running out of hours on my limit and have been on here too long so not even checking for mistakes.
So we are home had a wonderful time very sleepness and boozy but a change is always great...Ha ...
We spent time with Wyn, she looks great we were pleased to see, it is very sad all the same to see her so helpless and dependent but i was happy just to see her and see she at least looks good.
We called into June's as we had a package of Greg's that he needed us to drop off there, June also looks well and happy she had young Lauren staying such a lovely girl..just like her Mum i reckon.
Meg if you are on the blog thanks again for all, and your note was very touching. we will be in touch but again good luck and hope all goes well for you. Ken says thanks for the blower.
Kell thank you for the E.card and i will write a longer letter when i work out my broadband connection as i only have 4 hours on this one left so trying to remember all i want to say and typing real fast as i have to get off.
We haven't even unpacked yet as when we arrived home last night my friend and her kids had a surprise dinner and cake for ken so we "HAD" to have another little party for him. anyway must go now love to all and even if i don't get back to writing i love to read the blog take carew love to all bernice xx

P. Creek calling!

G'day all. It's been a great day! No confusion, no complaining & all generally happy!!
It was great to hear from the Egans. I trust that is just the beginning of a long-running relationship??
Do keep in touch girls, ( & boy!!). it is great for we "foreigners" to hear from each family. I was just spending
a few inutes looking at the (all 176!!) Flicker phptos. of course, there was at least one photo of each of us. However, I came across an "alert" sign, read the info, but never did get back to Flickr. Will do it again my next "free" time.
We have had summer the past week. Up to 32, & I think (know!!) I'm the only happy camper on those days.
Sara, I can sympathise with you with the trouble you are having re: computer. The past few months or more, our server was switching to "highspeed". What a schamozzle that was. On one day, off the next day. Off several days. On, but unable to open anything!!! That went on for at least a month, probably two. FINALLY, they got their act together, & all is working, more or less, fine.
During that time, my new Mac was langushing in its' box, getting old, & collecting dust. Once the server was back with us, I got my baby all set up, & now we are good friends again!! Problem is, no time to "play" with her! I find quite a few programmes are not Mac-compatable, so have to use my enemy, the "P. C.", to get into those programmes.
I am so sorry you did not get a Mac Sara. They are so EASY, & reliable. I spend all my time looking for instructions with the P.C/. Not so with Mac. Everything is right there at ones' fingertips. ( Lin, some time ago you wondered why I was havng so much trouble with Mac. Not the Mac. the server was our problem. They were off line, on line for SO long)
What news of you all? Bernice, are you home yet? I DID bend my elbow a wee bit on 3rd July, just to help Ken out!!
I trust you will have some time for yourself when you do get home, just to "catch up" a bit. I live in a state of perpetual
Behindedness(!!!) (my own word I think.) I just long for a time when I will be caught up. This time of year I spend a lot of time at the church. No one else bothers, & since I spend my own money on plants, I want them to live. It is afull time job when the days are hot & windy. Tom has seen how big the yard is, & how many beds to care for.
Mo will be happy to hear that I have made tremendous headway in the basement. It is looking (almost), as though someone lives here. A few more days at it, & it will REALLY look as if someone is here. The paper shredder has been working full time.
I just talked to Kate. 96 deg. today, 106 yesterday. Dan & Drew are in Boston at hockey camp. Drew has never been that far away from home without mum & dad, so we are not sure how it is going to go! At least he has Dan with him & they are very close, so hope that will be enough for him. He is such a sweet young fellow. will be 11 on 25th.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Jane Egan on 10th. Darn it all Jane, I will have to sit down again with a bottle of wine to help you celebrate. Heck, you must think I've got nothing else to do but celebrate birthdays! Well, an aunt has to do what an aunt has
to do!! Have a good one, & know Mo & i will be thinking of you as we celebrate, apart, but together!!
Is anyone following the tennis? I can't believe that Federer has done it again! Now he has tied with Bjorn Borg. It is such a pleasure to watch him play, & since there were no Aussies left, I was glad it was Federer.
I have a pretty firm offer on Peters' house. He doesn't know it is on the market, so the S. will hit the Fan if the deal goes
through. I will know for sure on 13th. Renters have to be given 90 days to vacate, so taleover would be Nov. 1st if it sells.
Of course, it is subject to a building inspectors report, but I have had so much done to it already, i don't think there would
be anything major left to repair. It will be a load off my back if it is final.
Lin, Mo gave me a quilt to sell, as she didn't want to sell it in pilot Mound. It was made by a girl there, & Mo is sure she would recognise it. I have been offered mere dollars, yet a quilting lady inspected it & says it should sell for $700.00 or so.
Is there a market there? Would it be worth my while to take it home? It is queen size, summer weight, hand made. Pastel colours. I think it is called Log cabin. (If you are reading this Mo, make whatever corrections are needed!!) Let me know
what you think, as it is too big to carry around if it wouldn't sell.
We were at a B.B.Q. last night, in the mountains. Sun doesn't set till 10ish, & it was all so beautifully green, cattle drinking at the creek. Birds singing in the scrub. Abeautiful, peaceful setting. We had elk calf steak & beef. Lemon marangue pie.
A lovely evening with good friends, & such a treat when it is all so lush. Pretty soon it will all be covered with snow!!
Calgary Stampede is in full swing. Over a week today. Steve & Mike have lots to do at stampede time, as that is where you have to entertain your best customers!! The whole city gets into "Stampede Mode", & everything else sits by the wayside till it is all over!!
I talked to John the day after his return home. Was very happy & pleased with everything. talked to Cec too. I think she will have a tough time getting him to eat recommended food etc. She said they will stay,& take him to Dubbo for his chech up.
Also talked to Tom today. She is at Saras'. Says she will stay two weeks, then back to Crookwell.
No news, & I have just rambled, so will bring this to a close. Kake care all, & love to each & every one. Kell

7/7/07

OK, this silly thing wont allow me to enter a title so formalities aside, G'day to all and sundry. STILL haven't got the new pc hooked up to internet, Telstra upgrading their broadband service and it conflicts with the pc's internal software, ticking me off.

It's 8pm'ish and Hokey's still up, Tony and baby asleep and I'm about todo the same so Hokes will have to retire too. Mum's driving to Pheasents Nest tomorrow and we'll drive out to bring her in, will be nice to take an afternoon off or have a sleep-in in the morning.

Meg will be here tomorrow too to meet Marcus at the airport. They'll leave first thing Monday morn' to meet the removalists. Greg will be through wednesday and pickup mum to go back to crkwll. He'll be in a truck so if he has a half hour to spare i'll ask him if he will pick up a few of those packing creats around the corner so I can knock up a temp' cubby for Hokey and I ;o)

I'm wasted, going to bed. Goodnight all.

Love Sara xxxxx

Jane and Patrick
