Pilot Mound on deck

Morning all. Last night I went back and loaded all the old posts onto flash....hadn't done it since about July last year. I hope you hadn't taken any off yet Lyn? I also went to the top to see what you had done re viewers, etc, but couldn't get anywhere with it. Actually I didn't notice any changes. What am I missing? My friend 1-800 came over last night...I was having computer trouble, he is my guru......and he was messing about putting my scans on a flash for Kell, the computer wouldn't do as he wanted but finally got them on. Then this am he E mailed me to check my Documents........what a mess!! I spent all am getting them and my photos sorted out. Still have to go to the photos and try to get them in some semblance of order. I'm afraid Kell will have to load hers off the flash then delete what she doesn't want. We are heading over to Montana for Easter. Can't leave here till after service on Good Friday, go as far as day light lets us, motel for a night & on the road early. On to Pincher, BR break at Kell's, then on to Kates. Spend Easter Day with fam. and I hope Monday, then its 'On the road again'! Bill has to be here for a meeting on Thursday. I think we are going to be able to go for Janes big birthday bash! It is at Kells, so that cuts our drive down by 6 hours,(3 each way) which makes a big difference. I have Zoe, Kelly and Rhonda's dog, for the week end, and Jarett gets home today and Zoe knows he is coming.! Dont ask me how, but she does! She is so restless and watching the door, first front then the back! She is standing at the top of the stairs now, looking down! Best go. I didn't have anything to say at the start, but had time so thought I'd drop a line. Love to all and take care. Mona

40th Anniversary!!

April is fast approaching, so have to say "Happy 40th Anniversary" to Ken & Bernice. I'll bet it
seems more like 10th anniv. Bernice. The time seems to go by SOOOOOOO fast!! Winter has arrived AGAIN!! It is SUPPOSED to be spring. Ha! Ha! Ha! Temps. below freezing AGAIN. (Still!!) Oh! Hot sun, where are you??? I received the Australian Birds coffee mugs from Cook, today. They are SOOOO beautiful. I did send her the $60, in cash, for the postage. Just have to
find out how much the mugs were, & I'll send payment for them. Does anyone know how much???
I would apprieciate knowing, if anyone can help??? I don't want another "debt" hanging around
my neck!!! They are all washed up now, & on display in my cabinet.

It is "Spring break" here now, so all schools are out for a couple of weeks.Charlotte & Fam. are down in Arizona, getting
some "rays". It has been such a cold year so far. Kate & her crew are away somewhere too.

Steve is like his poor old mother, suffering the cold at home!!!

Lin, congrats on your balloon ride!! You didn't expand on the ride?? I'm assuming it was great?? Not something I could do now!!!

Someone please log on, & give us an update on the family activities. Talk soon. Kell

(We still have snow covering everything. MAYBE, it will melt before Christmas!!
There is no news, I'm just rambling, so will finish up now, hoping to hear from someone soon.)

Scanning at Pilot MOund

Hey! Who is the cute squaw???? I have been scanning all afternoon and just had to share this! Someone, please share it with the two boys! I will be sending photos home soon...have to get rid of some to make room for more as I scan. Please, share them around, don't just toss.......like old wedding ones, etc!!! Remember, children may want them later in thier lives.
Beautiful day here, sunny and getting warm. Bill & I were in to the city to a meeting last night, got home at about midnight and the stars were so bright I almost thought I was at home ! No news,I may phone Kell this evening. tried for 2 days to get Cook & Cec but no answer. Will try again later today. Wendy, I looked at the old photo, only recognised the ones you knew, but my first thought was " June will know"......it doesn't go away, does it? I can't remember what else has been on, but have to say how great it has been to have a few entries this past while. Best go. On with the work! (Takes me a long time, I have to look at every photo and wonder and or 'remember when'. But I want to get more done, when the warmer weather is here we are outside, not in at the computer ! So stay happy, keep blogging! Love to all. Mona

Missed Flight!!

Heck, I just posted an entry, & realize I forgot to mention why I was posting in the first place !!
Lyn, we visited too long at the airport when I was leaving Aust.
When I left you, the plane was already loaded, & they were unloading my baggage!! I argued, but was told they didn't have time now, to process me. (also another women, about my age, & a young man, probably mid twenties!!) So there we were, for 24 hours, stuck at the airport. No hotel, other than a 15 to 20 minute taxi ride. All 3 of us decided we were too cheap to pay the taxi, then back again the next day. So we "hung out" at the airport!!
"Andrew" became our 'gofer', & I paid for his food, drinks etc. (Iris enjoyed all the treats, but didn't contribute!!!) We had a couple of bottles of wine . ($32.00ea)!!! Lots of "glasses" of wine.
Sandwiches, coffee!!! It was a VERY long 24 hours!! We did manage a shower, (of sorts!!!) next
day. Did lots of reading, & walking!!
Since no-one knew of our dillema, there were lots of 'phone calls, the day we were SUPPOSED
to be home!! I rang Charlotte, so she wouldn't be at the airprt waiting. Charlotte works for an airline, & informed me that it is the policy of all Airline companies to have passangers arrive
at LEAST an hour ahead, but more likely, 2 hours, to give time for propper processing.
Live & learn!! So that is why I wasn't able to answer any phone calls the day I was SUPPOSED to be home!! Talk soon. Kell

Home!! Darn it!!!

Dear Family,
Thank you all for the wonderful visit. It all seems so long ago now. The country was looking SO
good, all fresh & green. The temerature was a VERY nice change, from the cold here. I'm SOOOO fed up with snow & cold!!!

I've been "gonna" post a note ever since I arrived home, but always an excuse to put it off!!
Living with only "oldies", one can't delegate ones' responsibilities, (Mo will attest!!!), so am still "catching up".

I was VERY reluctant to leave Oz. I had such a great time, & for the first time I think, I saw the
most important rellies. Bernice, I owe you such a BIG THANK YOU!!! You had made all my
plans for me, so I didn't have to worry about who would be home, & when. I'm sure you spent a lot of time on the planning, & I AM grateful. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

I was greeted with some bad news on my arrival home. Charlotte had made several trips to the
Dr. & had a Lumpectomy performed on one breast. Then the Dr. discovered another lump, so back to the surgery again. She is scheduled for radiation treatment at the end of the month, hence I have had no inclination for writing. She feels well, & has a good attitude. She
has been a diabetic since her teens, with the customery insulin T.I.D. I feel that she has paid her dues, & am quite angry about the cancer. I'm sure all parents will understand my attiude.

All are well here, but we are all FED UP with snow, snow, snow!!!! I HATE the stuff. It never seems to stop, & we still have a couple of months of winter ahead of us!!

Charlotte, Mike & family are heading down to Arizona tomorrow, for Spring break. Kate, Doug
& Family head down on Saturday. They have a lovely "winter" home in Phoenix, so they too,
are escaping the cold for 2 weeks. Dans' car is in Phoenix, so Kate & fam. can fly down. It is a VERY long drive. Dan goes to Uni. there, so it is very handy for the family. They bought him
a nice house, with "desert garden". (i. e. NO maintainance!!!) Phoenix is a lovely, clean city, &
of course, is EXTREMELY hot in summer, & nice & hot in winter. Southerners head north in
the summer, northerners head south in the winter!!!

Peter is still holding his own. It is not fun, visiting him. His body is the same, but his mind has
forsaken him. Not a nice thing to have to watch. At least, he is unaware of any changers. The
facility is brand new, so EVERYTHING is fresh & clean. Generally, the staff are good. Peter is
fortunate, as he is VERY healthy physically. Meals satisfactory. He reads the paper, otherwise,
is happy to do "mostly nothing", but I feel he did his fair share of "stuff, & things", when he
was able, so why not take advantage of the abundance of time now, & do nothing???? He does
sleep a lot. I have time to read the Calgary Herald, (same size as Sydney Herald!!!), when I'm
"visiting"!! By the time I have finished the paper, he is waking up!!
I've got all the plans made for Janes' 50th. The Bbq. man is taking care of the meat for me. All
other "stuff" is under control. Mo tells me she wont be here for the Bbq. So far, my 3 childa
& families are planning on being here. I'm REALLY looking forward to it. July is nice & hot here
usually, with no rain. (Mostly!!!) So all in all, it should be a great day!!

Jane, if you read the blog, could you send me a "quick" outline of your travel plans please??
No news, so best "organize my finger!!" As I'm sure you all know, "small town", l0ts to do!!!
Take care all, do post more often please??? (Sara, WHERE are YOU???) Love to all. Kell

Happy Birthday Aunty Mona!

Hi All,
Special Happy Birthday to Aunty Mona - 20th March (and happy Birthday to Aunty Cook for yesterday). We have been thinking of you. I know you will read this at the start of the day, so make sure you have a good one! Will drink to your health when I finish here. Zappa just gave a bark, said Happy Birthday too!
Spent the weekend with family. Friday night we went to Ronny's brother's place - which is around the corner from Mum and Dad's, very convenient. The 6 of us caught the courtesy bus to the Eltham Pub, in a little village near their place. Had a great loud night and lots of laughs.
Saturday Ronny and I went to Byron Bay and met Jane and Patrick, Grace, Asha and her boyfriend. We dined out for lunch and dinner, consuming lots of liquid! We met in Byron to help Jane and Patrick plan their Canada trip. I have mapped out a loose itinerary for them. They will be in touch via email with their plans to see if it can fit in with the Canadians. In all, a great weekend.
Isn't Kenny smart! I know I could not navigate all the web sites and links that he did to get the photos on. Fantastic job and well done. We are all proud!
Belinda - the ballooning looked great fun. Good pics.
Loved the photos of the aunts - the slippers one was my favourite photo though! They all looked good.
Meg - how is Marcus going with his study in year 12? Great pic - handsome lad!
Hope you are settled back in at home Aunty Kell. It was lovely to see you. This week I will try to email the few photos I said I would ( kangaroos on Golf Course etc.)
Better be off, just came on to wish Aunty Mona a Happy Birthday.
love Lisa and Ronny

Pilot Mound checking in

Good morning all. This has to be short, I am on the lap top in a Motel at Brandon, and the net keeps fading out on me. But Lyn, I don't know what you mean by cleaning out the Blog, but DON'T take anything off till I get it on Flash.......I haven't done so for a couple of months and I KNOW there will be important stuff for me to save! Bill and I ran away from home for a few days........get away from the phone mostly, but we really needed some time to just do nothing, so here we are, on our way home for a dental app. tomorrow. I will try to do the Flash thing with the Blog early next week.........this week is all taken up
I haven't used the lap top for a while, and ALL the messages that I have received on the PC are coming onto the Lap top! No easy way to get rid of them that I know of, so thousands of message are being deleted, ONE AT A TIME!! It is a good thing, though, as I had deleted a couple off the PC that I wanted, so can now retrieve them!
I talked briefly to Kell before we left, and will call as soon as we get home. May be able to go over for a day or two at Easter, but not sure yet that we can arrange it.
Best go before this cuts out, then back to the delete job! Love to all and God Bless. Mona

No News from Canberra

Hi All
Well there is no news here in Canberra. It's a public holiday for us ( Canberra Day) and i don't know what Canberra day is for probably just another holiday for public servants. Anyway I haver had lunch with Hannah and done a little shopping. Very exciting.

Bernice I want to say thank you also for ring every one and making Kell's trip easy and smooth. Everyone knew when and where to pick her up of met the next person and I think ( hope) she got to visit everyone on her list (did you Berylie) . Its always fun to have her around and wish she and Mona were closer to us all. Anyway guess she is settled back in to the nice warm place called Canada ( well are you Kell, I know you love that snow) .

I have been cleaning out old drafts and comments on the blog. I have added a slide show to the top and it draws from this site. I have also added the followers so you can see who is following us. ( they are all family ). If anyone does not like it let me know and it is easy removed.

xxx to Kell and love to all the Payton Clan.

Anna Bay

Anna Bay

Hello to all, have not long got back from the beach, watching my youngest's antics on the mal, head stands and sit downs, hanging 10!!! spins and all sorts of acrobatics. He and his mate put on a good show. They have come back up, filled their stomachs as growing boys do and have headed back to the beach. What a life.
Lovely to catch up with Aunty Kell, had the day with Mum Kell Ces and Ray. Did a bit of sight seeing and had a few giggles with the" forget me not's". Bernice Aunty Kell was ever so grateful for you organizing her itinerary while she was here. She would not have got to see everyone otherwise and said she would not have remembered what she had arranged. So on behalf of all of us thank you for your efforts. I took a lot of photos on the day however they were on Aunty Kell's camera so only have a couple of my own to share.

Greg and I went to the Alan Jackson concert at Hope Estate, it was great and his birthday to boot. Caught up with a couple of cousins on Dad's side, Janelle Brown and Jane Gaffney. They just happened to be sitting 10m from us!! Linda Parnaby and Gay Turnbull (McLeod) and Karley Potter were also there. It was good to catch up with them. Gay spoke of you Kenny, being good mates with Rex. The bouncers kicked us out after the show, we were nearly the last to leave chin wagging as usual.
I trust all are well, Michelle I hope you have a speedy recovery from your op. I did ask Aunty Ces to send my love when she spoke with you next.
Love Meg

Hi all...how was your trip back kell? hope it was all good...also hoped you enjoyed your stay over here we all enjoyed having you...back to normal now Huh! Mona would be happy to have her sis back...now we are all looking forward to Mona's visit too.
I will try and put up some pics for you as i don't think your camera was working here.
We finally got our "Solar Panels on and hooked up! now we start saving and even earning money from our electricity ...just need a bit more sun!!!!
Great pics from Lisa, wendy, Lyn, and so great to hear from Mark Myers too...maybe the blog has come alive again hope so.
It was with sadness June's passing anniversary yesterday two years...Still thought of with loving thoughts..
Well this is only short ...just wanted to post pics for Kell's Aussie trip...hope you are all well talk again soon..Love Bernice xx

Hello family, Grafton here...

Hello All,

Fantastic to hear from Mark. Am sure we are all just as pleased to hear from him. Great photos, and Wendy has put some beauties on too, many thanks.

Aunty Kell did try to write on the blog, but I was at work and she didn;t recall how to post it. It was lost by the time I got home. A few pictures of her stay. We had a great time chasing the kangaroos at the Golf Club. Borrowed golf carts and took Ronny's dad out too. Other one is out to dinner that night. It was excellent to see Aunty Kell, but the visit was just too short!

We put her on the train Friday morning and then after work Ronny, Zappa and I went camping by the Mann River. Got home this afternoon and was determined to post photos as I told Aunty Kell I would.

Better get back to the chores, (well, better start the washing!)

Cheers,

love Lisa

Anna Bay

Hey big brother, took a look see after you got the log in details, love the photos, my aren't you the handsome devil. Must take after your big sister, well very little now and loving life.
All is well here, Greg and I are off to the Alan Jackson concert tomorrow at Hope Estate, Hunter Valley. I will get a bit of a nap in the morning after work before we go. You will be pleased to know that I have taken up Rock and Roll dancing. You should see me go..... lol have a lot of fun, they are a great crew, the youngest in a 9 year old girl and then me then the eldest is a 94 year old, oh and can that man move, he is a darling.
Still have not found the man of my dreams, he is probably sleeping at the moment if he has any sense. lol Never mind, I have lots of boyfriends to date, just none that I care to let into my life for good and plan on keeping it that way for some time yet.
Had a good run and walk along the Nelson Bay foreshore today, you should see all the boats in the marina for the biggest game fishing comp in the southern hemisphere!!! Makes me drool. so do their owners. ha ha. The biggest marlin caught so far was by a woman who had never been fishing before, well so they say anyway, and she was suppose to have caught 3, a blue a black and a striped. Yeah right, I would be stuffed after fighting a king fish and she caught marlin in one day!!! fish tales.
Boys are out partying this fine Saturday night and I am just about to head out the door to work.
Stay well and be happy, am here for you as you know. xxxx

Alone in London

Hello, just thought I would log on and provide an update on life here in London. I occasionally call up this blog site to see if there are any new posts, as it is still accessible from my work PC. Facebook rarely gets a look as all 'social networking' sites are blocked at work and by the time I get home (normally 22:00 on average), browsing the Internet is definitely not on my list of things to do and although registered with facebook since 2006, I find it all too confusing.

Firstly, a few relatively recent snaps:
Winter 2009
This is a picture of Dianne in front of our car (kidding). Jett has a thing about sports cars and was insanely jealous when he saw this photo. I took this in response to a picture I found on his phone (a hand-me down after I upgraded his). The offending picture is just below this one.

Clearly happy to be here. Not sure what the hand signals mean but any car that had a high gloss finish warranted a photo and I found tons of them on his old phone, showing Jett and his mates doing similar poses. Di and I had a good chuckle over that little 'school boy' error.

Summer 2010
A family photo out the front of our apartment block. We were off to Cafe Rouge on the High Street for lunch and had a passerby take the photo.

Autumn 2010
Yours truly heading off for a well deserverd lunchtime pint at the Crispin (behind the trees in the background) at the back of my company's offices. I was still working for ICAP near Liverpool Street station back then but packed it in at the end of August and transferred to a rival firm down in Canary Wharf.

Autumn 2010
Jett and I at the premier to see the latest Harry Potter movie in early November. Jett was apathetic about travelling into the West End to meet up with me to see the movie and was morose throughout the whole corporate entertainment before the show. He quickly picked up once the movie got underway and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Winter 2010
After 11 years living in London this is only the 2nd time we've had snow in December and certainly never this much. The view is looking up London Road towards the Bromley High Street (10 min walk). Spencer Road (our street) is off to the right near the big trees. Shortly after this was taken the snow was that heavy it took me 90 mins to drive a distance that takes 40 mins to walk.

Spencer Road looking from London Road. Our apartment block is on the left next to the 2nd tree.

Carmine Court in Spencer Road, our home for the last 9 years. Jett's room was the 1st window from the left (behind the tree) on the 1st floor. Ours is the 2nd with the juliene balcony.

The other car. View from the secure parking at the back of Carmine Court, with our little Renault in the foreground.

I should point out that Di and I have now been separated since early October. She packed up and moved back to Central Australia with Jett at the start of December. Ours was one of those marriages I thought only death or taxes would split assunder. How wrong that premise turned out to be.

I'm Back!!

Morning all. A very quick note, I'm waiting for Bill to come home so I can fill out his Annual Forms from our AGM yesterday, and he wont wait around for me to finish this!
First and foremost, Lisa, thank you! And please thank Marg for me, too!! What a treat to talk to my big bro!! We didn't have any news to share, but just hearing him, and his voice was strong and clear. I cried for a good long time after we finished talking.!....Oh, don't feel bad, that is what I do best! Kell is sure enjoying herself, and my thanks to all of you for doing all the 'arranging' for her! She really needed that, and does so appreciate it. It's hard when you go home after so long and don't know the connections etc. So it was great that she didn't have to worry. (I told Bill the last time we were at Central, to get ready to walk, I was not, EVER, going back to Central again!! So many changes.......and I used to know it so well....hop on a train, go anywhere, train back, down Pitt, hail a taxi...seems so long ago. I even hate the air port now, so big and hard to find your way. Last time, Sarie was coming to get us, we went out and everywhere we stood someone came and said "You can't stand there!!" Thanks to Sarie, she arrived before anyone else did at our last 'stand'!
My computer guru is coming tomorrow to fill my application out for my Aussie Passport......and a few other computer jobs that I can't handle! I have some ribs in cooking...get the fat out...will make the sauce and finish cooking them tonight, do some veg. then just have to reheat tomorrow. (I'm not only just a pretty face! Got brains, too!) He has to work alone for awhile so I can take one of my old girls to the doctors office.
When I was talking to SB the other night, the temp was -30. Here we are, two days later, and it is -3! BBQ tonight!
Sarie, ramble on all you like, just keep making notes on the blog! It has been great these past few days with notes from you, Bernice, Lisa, Wendy.
Bill is just coming in the back door so I will go and be ready so it doesn't take too long to do his writing. I will take all up to the PO and get them in today's mail. Love to all and God Bless. Mona
