Juat cold old Canberra

Well no news here. It's winter here and I am hating it.
I have started some renovations on the house , well more maintenance really although I am hoping to slowly replace all windows with double glazing but that is an expensive exercise. I have had a quote for the laundry and it $3000 so it will be a very slow process.

The girls are very happy and busy with their lives. Lauren finished her job on Friday and is waiting for the next one to start. So that gives her more social time of cause.

Hannah is busy being "mum" to her new kitten Carlos. Well I do have some news but can't tell until Wednesday. I will get Bernice to post for me.
Talk to everyone soon. And for those who are going see you at Greg's wedding!

ballsed up...

I'm sorry everyone, I was the one who ballsed up. Greg did tell Meg the wedding was off until further notice but he also told me that it wasn't ever postponed and I went ahead and announced his say-so without first talking to Meg. Anyway, it's still on 18th July but we are speaking with him about the "Cuppa and cake" afterwards as we feel it's a long way for ppl to come for just a couple of hours so perhaps we'll try to organise the bowlo like was done for Aunty June and also make it a pay as you go setup. Don't know, we'll see.

Trawling boat have to be tied up to the McFarlane Bridge to protect them from damage as the waters rise.
This is the road over to Illarwill and Brushgrove. Brushgrove is where Rik's father has his farm. The water is likely to have just gone under their house. Hopefully they've got the boat going. Rik has fond memories of flood pub crawls in the boat.

Hello

Hi all....what terrible weather are you all having up north...poor buggers..Lisa
You have gotta love Marge I rang to check on them they were surrounded by water..their in there eighties mind you!!! I said are you ok? Marge says Yes! water out front everywhere but... i have always wanted a "Water Frontage"..she's a classic even in tragic times..then preceded to tell me their power was out for over 20 hours so Steve was hanging for a cuppa tea...so she gets him in the car and drives to the nearest safest town and goes to a cafe and orders "Two pots of Tea"
I checked on Lisa and as Jane said they were going to sit it out. Do hope you are all ok and will let us know. Great to have you backkkkk on the blog Jane...such a shame about brydie's Debue postponed or cancelled? its such a special time for young girls I made mine in Bourke..thought I was a Queen..(looked like a Princess! Ha!) and its fading out now not so poplar not in the cities.
We have just got home from having dinner out with my girlfriend from the blue mountains was her birthday and we went to a new Thai restaurant so nice!

Sara, yes Meg rang and said the wedding is on 18th July. at 2.p.m.I will have to let Nathile know as she rang the other day and thought it was off til end of year...hope all is well with your house to Sara.. you know you are amazing how you write those long letters on the blog as I know you can only type with one hand..incredible and good job.

Paula...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!! for the 22nd ..hope you had a nice day and floods have not effected you also..we have had hardly anything just a little rain and windy but nothing serious thank god.
Ok that will do for now ...just checking in on all of you and hoping you are all dry and safe...thinking of you all love Bernice xx

Greetings from Murwillumbah

Hello every one!
A little reticent here almost scared! as I have not been on here for eeons. remember me Jane so sorry I haven't been on the blog. I have been reading it depending what computer I am on, haven't been able to write as Iam a little bit of a techno peasant and did not know the new pass word. I couldn't survive without the computer at work but at home I tend to be in the life skill department. My little sister had to direct me through the process. I have to tell you this she was directing me through while she was in the middle of a evacuation. Ronny and her were told to evacuate as we are in the middle of flooding. I have not been to school for 2 days as we have had floods it has moved down to Grafton and it is very serious there we are fine however the SES told Lisa and Ron today to evacuate however they have decided to sit it out they have moved the low lying gear up moved the car to higher ground and decided to sit it out with several bottles of wine and garlic prawns!!!! they have filled the bath with water if the power goes off (which it will if the floods come in) freezer is full they have gas. So if you are watching the news and you see 3 people saved off their roof in Grafton it will be Lisa Ron and Zappa all pissed!!!(oops). I thought Zappa may have gone to higher grounds with the car can't you see Zappa sitting in the van on the bridge in the front seat waiting to be rescued!!!! At least they have their life jackets, While I have been worrying my self sick Stewart has been too, so has mum and dad, so all we did was hit the red wine bottle (all of us) and in true Payton form got on the phone. God love Bernice and Ken all the way down South straight on to Marjie we are all fine every one that reads this tonight pray for Lisa and Ronny that the flood doesn't make it into town. Apparently if it does it will be bad. It didn't quite peak as it was forcasted to in Murwillumbah or Lismore however we are worried as it has to go some where and it looks like Grafton. As I said School was cancelled for to 2 days here.
Brydie was due to make her debut tonight however, it was postponed which was dissappointing s she was really looking forward to it.
Everyone is really wonderful here like every one else incredably busy but all well. Sebastian is finding Uni very intense however absolutely loving the social life. When he first left I did not hear from here for a few days and I sent him a text and asked him if he was alive his reply "yes for the first time in my life".
He finds his course very full on but absolutely loves College life. I think he loves the maleness of college all of the sport ( and mind you while he lives in a all boy college he loves the 2 womens colleges that are side by side too)!!!
I will close here just realise the time (Bernice, just heard Souths Score Patrick says they were robbed!!!!) He is dirty because West Tigers lost as he believes they were robbed too!!!!!)

Love to every one Hope i haven't raved on too much a few reds under my belt here and I am so excited I could get on. How come the pass word kieeps changing? Jane xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Update; CORRECTION

Spoke with Greg yesterday. The wedding was never postponed and is still on 18th July. Womens jumping ahead of themselves up there. Roof still not fixed so lots of rain coming in. Never mind, just more the insurance has to cover...

Solicitor came today and finalising transfer of Deeds. They are personal friends of Tony and he's asked for all the deeds, wills etc be kept in the safe at their office in town. Sandra (the solicitor who came to us today) said one of the biggest fraud crimes these days is theft of property (houses) where peoples homes are being robbed and deeds etc stolen. She says that all banks are on high alert for any property sales and transfers and have a stringent process for any access to security deposit boxes etc. Scarey.

Haven't spoken to Mum today but Greg says she's well. I will call tomorrow.

Kids are going nuts so I'd better go and rescue Tony and put them to bed.

Oh and Aunty Kell, I don't know about Meg but I sure as heck feel the aging process when I have to leave a room, retracing my steps and looking around to try to remind myself what it was that I went into the room for in the first place. Happens daily. I think of you often and pray you are well and holding up ok over there in your circumstances. I could not begin to imagine how exhausted you must be and how sad it is to see the one you love deteriorate before your eyes. You are an amazing woman to be able to still do so much, not just at home with Uncle Peter but at church and community also. Salt of the earth Aunty Kell, salt of the earth.

Love and kisses to all,

Sara

WHAT comments??

Very quickly.
Yes Lenice, (VERY happy to see you on this blog!!), I always check for comments. However, seldom see  any.
Speaking of which??  Did you notice "Stewart said", "Stewart said", "Stewart said"!!!
I don't know how to eliminate Stewart, (NOT literally!) but his name keeps coming up???
Good to see you are "on" Stew. Do fill us in. Havn't heard from you since my last visit home??? Love to all, Kell

2010 Jamboree!!

Dear Family,
It has been a while since I sat here. Days disappear, nights??? Well, by then I am completely brain dead. I'm sure most of you will be able to identify with that. Especially the mothers.
First, Meg. Please refer to your last post re: "the brain contents of the elderly". And remember, you are well on your way there my dear niece. Get up tomorrow, 10 years have gone by. Rise the next day, & you are grey headed, a week later, your OLDER grandchildren will be checking in on you. I'm not kidding. Ask any ELDERLY person, & they will tell you the same thing.
I wish I could go back on all the old posts. So many things you are all up to, & comments would be in order. I think, starting today, I am going to make notes as I read.
Jessie, I had no idea you were an artist?? Bernice USED to be. I know, because she was going to do an Aussie landscape for me?? Who knows, while she is waiting for that fantastic garden of hers to grow, she may take her easel & stuff outside, & paint whilst she watches it grow. A really great idea Bernice. You must keep us informed, or post photos as the progression permits. I STILL have not started the church garden. It is quite large, & VERY time
consuming. I think Lin has seen it. Lots of beds, & one very large bed out front, where every
one passing by, has a clear view, & they seem to feel obliged to stop & talk. I like privacy to begin with, & further more, there is no time for small talk when one has a big project to get underway. I was ABSOLUTELY NOT going to do the church this year--------------
As usual, I have been prattling. Must get to the chase.
Re: the reunion.
IF Steve could go, it would have to be summer, & preferably Christmas. They have 2 childa at school, & the Christmas holidays here are about 2 weeks long.
As for Kate. Christmas. Dan will be out of uni., & he will have a much longer break. Palso & Drew will have just 2 weeks. Hockey could easily interfere with Drews,' plans. They are short of players, & Drew is one of their best. However, I feel he could get his way around that if they had their plans made. ( Drew had his school orchestra recital today, but wouldn't let Kate tell us, so we could have gone down to hear him. Kate said it went very well.)
Alex can't miss any school, as she is in high school, & absences are VERY MUCH frowned upon.
Charlotte & Mike. Now, that could be a problem. Josh & Michaila will both be in  high school by then. Mike has a management position, so may not be able to take time off looking so far ahead. Charlotte has been hired by WestJet, Albertas' airline. There is no position available at the moment, but she gets the first position that comes up. It would be difficult to get time off, if she is a new employee. WestJet has paid for all her computer courses, & as changes take place, they keep her informed. The pay isn't great, but it is supposed to be a great company to work for, & so no one leaves till they have to. I don't know how their share distribution works, but all employees get paid regular shares in the company. Josh works after school & Saturdays at my favourite restaurant, "The Cheese Cake Cafe". Michaila works part time at another restaurant, "Cocos." A year from now, WHO KNOWS??
As you see, all this is very iffy.
As for myself, if Peter is still here, ( Hell, if I'M STILL HERE!!) & he still knows me, I would be unable to leave him. Mo will tell you what he is like if I'm not around. If he no longer knows me, I would have him in an institution. In which case, I would be able to go.
As you see, the entire Deda mob are all very IFFY.  I would suggest you make your plans, & if we can go, we will. One caveat. SUMMER for me.
This was the Victoria Day long week end. Snow in Edmonton,  0 degrees in Calgary. +4 degrees
here. So much for Spring............ No wonder I havn't started the garden..
No news. Life drifts along, sans change. Love to you all. (I REALLY need a trip home+++)

May 18, 2009

Well Hello again from Sara

Hi there all, sorry I've been so long away. So much to do and not enough hours in the day, days in the wekk or weeks in the year (they're going away too fast). Where do I start? I have a little list in point form in front of me but have to organise in to correct time/date frame.

First and formost I was especially thinking of and praying for all the Tullys on Sunday. God bless them the time has passed by so fast. Jess I love your art-work, some of the stuff you have on Facebook I'd copied to 'my documents' ages ago. You are very talented for sure.

Oh yes, here we go, ok, Megs already spoken of Mums b/day party, or 'no' party to be more precise but I have to say that I did tell Mum what we were thinking b/c as Meg mentioned she would be livid if anything were in her honour but on the same token she is all for another 'gathering'. Maybe just a mutual 'no event' event.

Also Gregs marriage has been mentioned. Well, dates have changed again, now we don't have a date. Spoke to Mum this morn' and as Son' is in the middle of heavy studies it would all be a bit too much at this point in time so they will wait 'till later in the year again. Haven't spoken to Greg yet so don't know all the details.

Congratulations Aunt' Mo' and Uncle Bill on your Volunteer awards. Beats me how you do what you do, you're amazing people and are appreciated by all near and far. I'm so happy for you.

Mothers day was a corker. I was boasting to all mothers who's mobile numbers I have how well I'd done. I will copy/paste the txt from my mobile rather than retype it all:-
Ok, I'm connected now:-

Happy Mummy Day 2 all u Yummy Mummies. Hope it's bin as 'spoiled' as mine (he spent WAY 2 MUCH), perfumes x 3 (Elizabeth Arden 5th Avenue & White Diamonds), blak shawl wth scarf, 3 boxes of choccies (Guilian) , lottery gift pak ($10 & a free ticket, not a cmplete waste) & 2 Massage gift certific8s. He sed "4 all th 1s i've 4gotn. I'll remembr from now on". Church was nice 2, tea & cake.

Next message I sent out was at 2:46am the following morning. Please excuse the language:-

LMAO, fucking house caught on fire cupl hours ago. All ok so dn't call, only th roof/ceiling. All 000 ppl came, all gone now. Trying 2 get kids bk 2 sleep :o/

After receiving a reply from my girfriend a few hours later I replied:-

Probly, its all in th ceiling. Fuckn chimney, a brick moved & sparks wnt in th ceiling. Foxtel went off & Tony wnt 2 chek, all ok but could hear crakling thru th walls. Went outside & flames n shit flying out of roof. He got up 2 hose it & calld passers by 2 call 000. 2 much, will talk l8r XXX

In the morning I received a tearful phonecall from Meg (mountain out of a mole hill, seriously) then she says " teach you to skyte, your 'mothers day' went up in flames". She nailed that one too.

So anyway. The house caught on fire and details as above. Was mighty pissed off too b/c we'd finally got the fire roaring and was nice and toasty inside. 12:30am people at my door "HELLO, HELLOOO, YOUR HOUSE IS ON FIRE. IS ANYONE IN THERE?" They came inside and by this time I'd got out of bed. Was in with the kids as they'd got used to having Nanny there and like the 3rd person in bed :o/. Anyway I went out and the woman was not panicy but urgent insisting we get out and kept saying "your house is on fire, your house is on fire". I laughed and said "No nooo, it's just the sparks flying out the chimney. We don't have a 'cone' on it yet". "No no, it's on FIRE. Are there kids in the house"? By this time Marc was out of his room nursing Puppy. I indicated toward the kids bedroom and said "Marc", thinking he would help carry them out but no, George Kostanza hurried past with Puppy in his arms and went outside. The strangers, lady and the man raced in to get them out. I was pissed off. The firies came and blasted the fireplace with their extinguishers. I was out in the driveway when I saw them carrying the smouldering logs out, "there goes my fire" I thought as they tossed the logs onto the footpath. I have yet to mop the floors thoroughly yet, still sooty. Just adds that 'rustic old' character to the place, lol. They busted the tiling on the roof to get to the eves. Insurance say they'll have to replace the roof above the lounge so when they start Tony said he'll put some 'down lights' up there and get rid of the old chandelier type light that's there.

Anyway, that was that.

Ok, I'm doing a half dozen things at a time on this pc so will move on to the next item om my list while the phone conects and uploads my messages.

Tony has just gone outside to move all our exercise equipment out of the shed (more detail later) and Angelina is out there with him "Daddy, Daddy DADDYYYYY". She is seriously like a very scratched record. Cracking me up big time.

Next night after the bbq I ran a nice hot tub for myself and as usual the kids could hop in after me. I turned the tap on and shut the door but someone had gone in there after me and left the door open. Consequently my little Dark Angel went in there and emptied the vanity cupboard into the tub. 4 bottles of bubble bath (thankfully she hadn't opened them), brushes, washers, toys and a tablet of 'Toilet Blu'. It was a long lasting 5 month tablet too so we came up shiney and fresh that night!

Next night when I got Giancarlo up to the toilet at midnight or there abouts he started scratching his head furiously so I thought I'd better check it. I'd never seen nits or lice before but when he hopped back into bed I grabbed my torch and pulled his hair back from the front of his head and fair bloody dinkum it was like a party going on there. Bloody lousey. Next morning I went straight to the chemist for some KP24 and came home and smothered our heads. I'd been sleeping with them so mine was done too. After doing this I combed his hair and got all the lice out and what nits I could see. I'd already let the school know but they said he could come in as soon as his hair had been treated. "Okaaayyy" I thought so sent him off to school. I combed my hair and harvested a couple of lice but no nits. Angelina had a couple and a couple of nits. I combed in the afternoon then next morning then that afternoon and pulled out 2 more live ones. I did his hair again (all linen had been washed and changed etc). Friday morning I found more nits so kept him home and called the school. I got out all that I could see and took him to get his hair cut off that afternoon. Looks good too. No bities over the w/e and didn't see any this arv' so might be on top of that one.

I'd told Mum about the nits so Meg checked her hair and mum said "she couldn't find any livestock but there were a few eggs there". She'd had her hair permed the week b4 so that probably killed off the livestock and Meg bought some treatment for the eggs but she hasn't had a problem so hers must all be deceased...

I pulled down a toy keyboard from the cupboard which Hokey received for his birthday last year. He messes with it a bit but only b/c Angelina plays with it. She's funny to b/c it has all the different sounds, rap, folk, pop, dance, disco etc and she can belt out "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" in tune to each of them. Even dances in sync with each beat.

Had to laugh the other night, Tony commented I'd lost weight ( that wasn't what I laughed about but was pleased to hear it) and then said I had the "legs of an 18yr old again". So there you go, a combination of poor lighting and equally poor eyesight can hide a multitude of sins. Next morning as I was dressing he commented on the "20yr old legs". "WHAT? Last night they were 18 and now they're 20?" Mental note 'keep blinds closed during the day'. Tonight they were back down to 19yr old but the boobs were "50yr old" HA HA. Brought that one on myself though b/c that's what I'd said when he first commented on the legs but I said "80", he knocked 30yrs off them so that can't be too bad huh?

Yeah, shed's finished and as Marc had showed no interest at all but could only complain then Tony moved all our gym and exercise gear in there. Decided to make it a place where we could work-out etc but then he comes home from 'work' and asks why he can't move in. Today Tony moved all the gear out again so hopefully tomorrow we will move his gear while he's at 'work'. I say " 'work' " b/c the usual crap is on again. Once he's out there then he'll only have to come inside to use the toilet and shower until we can get those ammenities built out by the laundry also. Can barely wait...

Well that must be about it for now. It's an hour past bed time so I'm off and will try to come back sooner than later.

Love to all,
Red XXXXX

Belina has helped

Just got off the phone, thanks Belinda, thanks Therese , as you have gathered Stewart didn't say...I make my first comment and every comment say's Stewart say's, so can some IT person/hacker rectify the situation... please.... Mona hi, re 2010 reunion, Grafton good for me ,Lisa as event organizer, we will be in good hands....Lemon tree passage is also as easy as Jetstar(Quantas budget) have there hub at Williamstown so Brisbane / Newcastle is a very affordable flight, perhaps Sydney/Newcastle more accessible to other interstate reunioner's ,...what we need is a time of year from your mob and perhaps the Newcastle mob have event fatigue so lets hear it for other opinions......I spoke to Toni-lee during the week , June on my mind and she said they placed June's ashes on Saturday 9/05/09.Mona mentioned her grieving for June lingering but as I said to Toni-lee she was at peace and ready for the next stage, we all miss her but i feel she is a free spirit................Meg I did laugh myself stupid at your wit, I love the way Sarah can turn a phrase but you nailed it ,,,, lol the Payton humour,,,,, rang mum and Jane, both roared.Keep up the laughs.....Whats the I live out of my car ? professional woman of 2009.? . Toni-lee hadn't heard of the cancellation of Tom's 80th but we thought your 40th in Nov was as good an excuse as any ?.....Spoke to Paula on the weekend gone and she was hoping to catch some Neal action in Taree on her way back from Melbourne, have not heard if successful but going for dinner on Wednesday night so will let you know how she went.....Hello Tully girls enjoy your postings thanks for the art Jess.....Love to all Stewart

Anniversary notes to Tullys.

Morning all. Sun has been shining today for a first in a week or more. Temp up to 13.......balmy!!
No news. I just wanted to tell the Tullys we are thinking of them today. And Lissa, when you read this, go give your dad a big hug from me, please. Tell him his God Ma loves him.
I passed the reunion thing to Kell to work out with her kids. We can go any time, for me winter is best...hate the heat....but Kell says her kids wont go over in winter again.
May I suggest we do the Grafton thing again? Easy access for most I think, and the venue was good, the food great, accomodation satisfactory to good (I had the best room....AND THAT SHOULD HAPPEN AGAIN!)
I have talked to Kell a few times since we came home. All much the same for her. Bill has improved a lot since we got home. I think he had a bleeding ulcer. Is on medication and sees a specialist on 2 June, but feels a lot improved.
I will sit down and answer little notes I have made from others notes, but for now must go. Love to all and take care. Love ya. Mona

Kiama Crew

Hi, it's starting to get a bit chilly here now. We're waiting for RJ to finish off our sandstone cladded wall, build our hearth and then install our pot belly. He's picked up a bit of work this month though, so we may not get it until winter is over. Can't complain though as it's better that he has work than have to lay off his workers.
It's been crazy here lately, with Noodles 1st birthday along with all the 4th birthdays of the kids in the mums group I joined after having Chookie. Just her to go now, so we'll have a BBQ and light the fire in the yard and have a bit of a sing along and eat some pink cake with butterflies and love hearts (23rd -3pm if you'd like to join us Bernice).
Anyway, I just wanted to suggest to Bernice that she sign up for the next round of the Sustainable Illawarra Superchallenge now that she has grown a green thumb. It's worth it for the $200 of vouchers that you get. Follow the link to the sign up page - has to be done by Monday. I left a comment but can never be sure if people read comments on this blog or not.
Gotto go, kids are getting antsy, Terese.

Dad's 83rd Birthday

Hello All,
On Sunday, 10th May , it was Dad's 83rd birthday as well as the obvious Mother's Day. As per every year, the family gathered in Byron Bay to celebrate the occasion. Unfortunately Anthea was not there as she is teaching in North Queensland, but she was there in spirit. ( OK, Zappa was not there either, more on that later!) It was a great day, and many laughs had by all. I do not remember how long we have been meeting like that every year. We have photos of the children (nieces and nephew) when they were quite small, so it must be at least nine years. We take the photo in the same position every year. I have lots of photos of the day, but I was having a bad hair and bad shirt day, so can not post any other photos!!
The night before, Ronny and I stayed at Lennox Head - 20 minutes south of Byron Bay - at Ronny's brother's place and dine in his restaurant. We met Stewart and his dog Bruce there also. Ronny's brother had invited Stewart and his dog, as he and his partner have three dogs anyway. There were five dogs and five people in the house that night! All very well behaved and had a great time - of course! Ronny, Stewart and I had a fantastic time at the restaurant. OK, I drank a little too much, but did not disgrace myself entirely! It was a really fun time. We leave Zappa with Ian and his partner when we go to festivals, so Zappa was right at home. We picked him up on our way home after the luncheon, but Stewart had to travel North, so he had Bruce with him.
Does all that make sense?
Meg, awesome blog entry - a great read, filling in many blanks, thanks. Very disappointed about Aunty Tom's birthday, but I have to respect your wishes. Ronny and I will be on our way to Sydney from Foster on Greg's wedding day, so I can not think of a better reason to detour on the way. Just let us know time and place.
Very busy here ( but then again, who is not busy??). Ronny and I leave here tomorrow night at midnight with 43 teenagers and take them to Sydney. We arrive in the morning, and I take my year 12 English class to see the play The Crucible at the Sydney Theatre Company. When that finishes, I take my year 12 Drama class on the Manly ferry to see a play over there in the afternoon. Then we come back to Circular Quay, the bus picks us up and we meet the rest of Ronny's and my English classes and go to Bondi Beach pavilion to see Hamlet. After that - sleep! Travel back home all day Friday, knackered. Hope all the plays are worth it, but we are studying them all with the students for their HSC.
Hockey season is in full swing and I have not had a good record. Played three games and been injured in two! (one hockey ball in the ankle, one tripped and landed on my shoulder, ouch!) hoping for a clear run this weekend!
All well on the family front. Dad is good but getting very tired, and quite often. Mum is keeping it all going well, positive as usual.
The rest of the family are well - and if they are reading this, they should get on the blog too!
Aunty Mona, I had forgotten about the 2010 reunion. We need to start something. Firstly, what time of year suits you and the rest of the Canadians/Americans? We need to start with that , then discuss the rest once a time of year is secured. We all need to communicate on this one, including the family readers who do not write ( no offence intended).
oops, amazing how time flies when you are on here,
love to all,
Lisa

Port Stephens Say

Morning all,
Just logged on and have had a text message from Lyn asking about Greg and Sonia's wedding.
I will pass on what I do know at this stage
Its an open invitation to all the family so welcome one and all
It will be an informal affair with a church wedding at Taylors Beach which is about 5 minutes from Gregs place.
There wont be a reception, tea and coffee afterwards and if you do come could you bring a plate of savories or cake or sandwiches to have with tea and coffee. That will compliment the Arnotts packet biscuits.
No presents as they have all the stuff that they need.
I know that a donation towards a honeymoon would be greatly appreciated
I dont know where they plan to go on a honeymoon, last I heard was talk about the Maldives
As for the time and address I wont know that until they get together probably this weekend Greg said to discuss it.
He has just about moved in with Sonia at her place over at Salamander and like me just drops in to see mum grab his surf board and dogs and then goes out for a surf.
He and sonia and her two children will live in the new house Greg has bought in Anna Bay and is close to the beach.
Mum will live out her days at Gregs house in Morna Point Rd and when he has moved all his furniture into the new house we will fill the Morna Point house with Mums gear that she has in storage.
At this stage Marcus has elected to stay with Nan and that is his choice.
He is nearly 16 and has his own mind. He has started an after school job at Woolies packing shelves to get a bit of pocket money.
That is all I can fill you in on in that department so far.
Now as far as the Surprise Party for mum's 80th I dont think that will be a happening event.
A few incidents have happened here and after a general discussion between Greg Sara and I we have decided not to have the party.
Mum would be livid and would not enjoy herself, and would dig her heels in once she cottoned on to what it was about.
I know that we would all have a great time but at this stage I really do have to say its a no go.
Mum is not happy about living at Gregs, she doesnt like it there and is not happy about being dependent on us to take her to the shops, bus, bank etc. She feels she still wants to go to Narromine where she can walk everywhere that she needs to go.
You have to understand that when mum gets set on something NOTHING, no reasoning or rationatlizing can alter her chain of thought.
She wont stay at Gregs if I continue to live there, ( I dont know where she will go) She has this set on Garry and doesnt want him there and feels that if I am there she will always have the worry that he will come over even when I am not there.
Garry has not been to Gregs in Months and is aware and understanding of mums thoughts and ideation.
So I am moving my stuff out, what I am not using will go back into storage and I will continue to live out of my car basically. I will now make Lemon Tree my base station at Garrys parents house. They are happy to have me there and understand the situation. Garrys Mum's mother is 100 in October and they are fully aware of the thought contents of the elderly. I dont want to rent a house because it means I will still only be there one to two days a week and it is pointless paying big rent for that.
Once the butchershop sells Garry and I plan to travel for 12 months to have time to ourselves and enjoy a bit of life. But at this stage with the economy the way it is I dont think the shop is going to sell in a hurry.
He works just about 7 days a week and has done so for the past 3 years.
Once we have finished our travel we will settle down somewhere
I am in the process of house hunting for an investment property and the one that I was set on was sold on the weekend. It wasnt meant to be that one. So it is back to hunting again.
I am at Toronto for the rest of the week, head to Lemon Tree on Wednesday night after a late shift. Marcus has to go to the dentist on Thursday afternoon to have 2 teeth out so his other teeth can be pulled into allignment with the braces.
He loves his AFL and they won against a Newcastle team on Friday night. I am hoping to get a change of shift so that I can take him to a game. I am rostered on all late shifts which is a pain.
I must go as I am at the Library and have only a certain amount of time on the computer which I have to book.
So please forgive me for the change of plans.
Lisa and Bernice thank you for your support and help I will phone when I can to ask for your understanding on the party matter.
I am in for a 2010 reunion and will do what I can to help so who ever is on the planning committee let me know.
Hope you all had a wonderful mothers day,
Sarie will fill you in on her firey end to the day.
Love meg

Mother's Day, SB's birthday and anything else

OK, most of you are sleeping, so good for you. Enjoy! Happy Mother's Day to all, and I hope SB had a good day. Kell phoned, I can't just yet. Sorry, but I have been having a really bad time since June's death. Just can't get ahead. Guilt at feeling like this isn't helping, either, knowing the girls and 'Wendy's Lot' are able to cope ! Bill took me over to visit with Kell to see if it would help, and it did a bit, but time was short. Bill was sick the entire time and we came home 2 days early, so it was a short visit. Bill is feeling some better today, Sunday, but goes to his Doctor tomorrow if I have to carry him there. Such a worry. We are both taking the day off today, just pottering about not doing much. I have a stiff neck and think it may be a pinched nerve it is getting more painful instead of improving, and this after about 3 weeks, so will have to have it looked at. Enough of that.
Great to hear from you Wendy. Tess shared her blog name with me and so I am able to keep up with them......what FUN that blog is ! I just love to read it.
WAY TO GO Miss Belinda !! I hope you were able to complete the run. Let us know. But great effort regardless!! Also Bernice, KEEP AT IT !! After 2 or 3 years you kind of forget and the urge for a cigarette goes away. So hang in there. Also, I now have your CD of the wedding (or a copy of !!) and thank you. Such fun to look at all the different pic's. You do a great job of transferring them, too.(Spell check says that I wrong, but I don't think so.)
Will someone please tell me who Marto is? I gather a friend of Jess, but who?
Also, with all the family gatherings you have had, is the reunion of 2010 still on ? We need to know to start making plans. So month, town, venue would be great please. Or if it has been
cancelled or postponed, just let us know.
I had best go. I am just rambling now. No news here.........YES there is ! I almost forgot to tell you ! You all know Char has been working at an elite little (BIG Chain ) coffee shop, part time?
She chooses her hours !!! (Wish I had had a job like that !!) Anyway, the city is divided into 3 regions by the company. Char works in the North West Region and has just been awarded the 'Best Employee' award. Company wants her to take a management position but she wont, too stressful. Now for the good part !! West Jet have been courting her. PAID for her to upgrade in computer skills, programming, etc (gave her a list of courses to take, their expense !) and as soon as a position comes up, it is her's. She is able to walk to the coffee shop I think but will have to drive, (only about 20 min.s ) to West Jet. If a position doesn't come up, they continue to pay for more up grades 'till one does. They WANT her !! MY GOD CHILD !!! She and Kell wont be pleased at me for passing this on. Too bad.!
Best go. Nice day shapeing up, so will get steaks out to BBQ for supper.
Will someone...most likely you, Bernice ! .. please tell us what is happening with Greg's wedding? Where they will live, etc?? Love to all. I am gone ! Mona

Wrong Blog

Hi all, I was actually thinking I was on our family blog and was just about to send a message that no one would understand when I looked up and saw it was the Payton blog. Every time I try to get into this one to send something it never lets me in.
Nothing much happening here, we had our local show last Tuesday and Wednesday and as usual it rained. We didn't bother going as we had no desire to tramp around in mud and get wet from rain. Also we are getting a little old for side show ally, so we stayed home and I sewed instead, much more enjoyable in my opinion.
We had a quick visit to Kiama for Nyah's 1st birthday, she is growing up so quickly.
Rik and Terese are getting anxious to have there house extension finished, so they can have a nice kitchen to cook in, a dining room to eat in as it is getting too cold for the kids to eat out on the patio at night and a lounge room to relax in and have a wood fire at night to keep warn. Terese especially wants to put furniture in the big room so it wont echo when the Little's run and yell in it. Of course when it is finished there wont be any running and yelling in it.
Carol is still busy getting her garden in place.
Lenice is enjoying being a uni student again.
By for now
Wendy

Anna Bay/ Lemon Tree Passage

Hello there Aunt Mona,
Would love you to do the napkins for us that would be great. Would love it more if you and Uncle Bill could be here. Lisa will be in contact with you soon. Ive asked her to help me and I will leave it up to her good judgement what to put on them. Its been a beautiful day here today, what I saw of it. Went in to Newcastle to see a dental surgeon with Garry. He has to have all of his top teeth out because he keeps getting abscess's and becomes septic. He had his face smashed to pieces in a boating accident years ago and has five plates insitu. The dentist wouldnt take the teeth out for fear of causing further fractures so thats the reason for the visit to the surgeon. He will go under the knife on June 18th. Marcus has to have two teeth out soon too. Between the both of them I seem to be living at the dentists lately.
Jess great to hear from you. Marcus wont be going to Bourke these school holidays. He starts at woolworths on Wednesday and will be working like a trooper to save for a new MOTORBIKE well thats his plan.
Jacob will becoming home probably on the 7th July till the 23rd. He turns 18 on the 4th July and is having a big party with all his mates over there. He said he cant wait to go to the pub and have a drink with me. Ha me who doesnt drink. Well I will have to relent on this occasion I think.
Must hit the sack, have a bit of chasing up to do tomorrow. Uniforms that I paid for where suppose to have been sent out to me in Janurary to the hospital. Someone signed for them but I never got them. A joey pouch that I bought was posted to me and never arrived. I tracked that down today and they are sending me another express post. Its a little pouch to put scissors tape phone pens etc in instead of having bulging pockets.
I am off lizard hunting now. Garry got Marcus a neat little ghecko on the weekend and he got out before he even got it over to Marcus. So I am going searching the back room. Little bloke has probably done the harold holt I would say.
Cheers all
Love meg

I'm back meggie!!

Hi everyone.
am actually at work a little bored. I'm pretty sure we will all be at the wedding and the 80th, Marto will probably tagg along if thats ok with you meggie. Speaking of gidgee...
Marto and i went camping out myndetta on the weekend and we had to cut it short coz Marto badly burnt 2 of his fingers moving a log on the fire, still it was amusing none the less.
kell is still motorbike made and at school, Marcus is to be at bourke next school holidays meggie, he has things to do out here, (more to the point have a show off with marto and kell on the bikes.) hes just the greatest little cousin ever. And Yes BUSHELLS tea.

Nothing changes out here, lost my job at the vet surgery coz of lack of business. working at a motel until i work out where and when i'm leaving.

Went out to northy pub last night it turned 116 so they had a birthday paty for the pub. was a good night.

Melissa is doing a good job running the tully house hold, Dad is out at salt lake, lissa had to do a run to louth the other night to pick up a dog with a broken leg, which we got fixed.

nothing more to add i dont think. Mums anniversary is on the 17th, that year has gonbe rather fast suprisingly.

Love to all
Jess

Pilot Mound....AGAIN!!

This damd thing just posted itself, so I am editing it ! I hadn't written a thing. Anyway, good morning. You should all be up and doing by now. I am just on my way to work at the smorg...Bill went earlier. We will supper together, finish work, clean up and home. He is feeling shabby today, and I think we may call our trip off till he feels better, I'll see in the morning.
Anyway, Meg, do you want me to send napkins for the party....I did for SB and June....and anything special on them, and what colour? Don't worry about Tom being upset with you about the party. Just blame it on someone else.......Ken and Bernice? Mark, he's away. NO!!! Sara! Tom would never hit her !! See, problem solved ! You don't have to explain the 'Too tired to think' to Kell or me, beleive me, we know. Around Christmas time it is almost too much effort to read it sometimes ! But just now I don't have time to write, must be off. Talk again soon.
Love to all. OH!! So happy to hear Greg's news. Keep us up to date. Love Mona

Anna Bay Antics

Hello
Hi there Aunt Mona, yes I am around, just not very often these days.
Lisa and Bernice will keep everyone updated for me on events to transpire in November. I will just have the first aide kit ready for when Mum goes off at me. I dont get much of a chance to get on the blogger, not that I dont want to its just that I am to tired to think of what to write most of the time.

Now the big news which I have just this minute been given is that there is going to be a MYERS/CROCKETT wedding ON JULY 18th. Not in Darwin in October as they first talked about.
The wedding is to be here in a church. I have no idea of the time etc but I do know it will be a simple affair with tea and coffee afterwards. I guess if you want grog you will have to spike the coffee. Bring a plate to I believe. This has all come from Greg and he has just left to go and stay the night with his lady love. I dont see much of him these days to expand on the news

Now I am extending an open invitation on their behalf to ALL the family. I will let you know the time and where abouts etc as soon as I am informed. If you can all get back to me asap with an RSVP they would appreciate it. I know they would love everyone to come so all roads to Anna Bay in July. Jacob I will book your ticket home as soon as I can ok

I have enlisted Lisa and Bernices help to prepare for Mums 80th because I dont have the entertaining nack. I just hope that Greg isnt going to try to get me to do the organising for this event. I can boil the billy if he wants and will have to make sure that there are bushels tea leaves in the pot right Tullys. I wonder if he wants me to be bridesmaid or is that now matron of honor.

Marcus completed his induction for woollies and has his uniform. I am pretty proud of him for getting the job himself without mums help. He can get the bus to and from work so that is a big help. He wants a new motorbike a 4stroke so I believe so the job was a necessity for him to indulge in these boys dreams.

Mum arrived home by bus last night, Mandy if you are out there can you tell Aunty Ces for me as she wanted to know when mum came home.

Belinda where are you and what are the girls up to.
Stewart now you on on site why dont you drop us all a word or too
Loved the photos lisa and Jane.
Bernice way to go with the no smokes I am proud of you.
Toni lee cant get onto the internet at the moment, there is a bug in her system, all are well over there at Lemon Tree.
Where are you Tully girls come out from under the Gidgee and share a tale or too ok.
Oh I could go on but do have to go

Talk soon as I want to ring Jacob
Love to all
Meg

MOna

Hi, just a short note to Mona ..Yes Mona, Meg, is on the net but she was working in Toronto until sunday and asked if I could put the details on as soon as possible for her , so everyone knows as early as possible...anyway... she will be home tomorrow so wil probaly get back to you then...love Bernice xx

Pilot Mound signing in.

Morning all. This has to be short, I am having net trouble. Just to tell everyone I cant receive or send E mails till I get back from Kell's, likely Mon. or Tues. week. Spent an hour on the phone with a very nice Robert this am, thought we had the thing going, but it isn't, so I just dont have the time to spend on it till we get back, then I will get ole 1-800 on it. He has more patience than I. It has come up cloudy again and I am hoping it wont rain. Have to clean the car this afternoon to have it decent for the trip. We leave for Winnipeg at 6am tomorrow for a workshop. Have to be home and at church at 6pm so will have to come out and bring my finger ! Our big Smorg is on Sunday, we both work (I organize, too) so have to be here for it. Will leave for Pincher at 6am on Monday.....arrive there at about 8 pm I think. Hope all are well, etc.
Is Meg not on the net now, Bernice ? I had hoped to mail her about the party, can I get napkins done and send them, and if so, what colour and any special wording? Can someone find out and let me know so I can order and post?
Thunder. I love it! Best go. Lenice, if you read this, I love your blog! Thanks for shareing! Love the photos of the kids. Keep it up.I will get to this again when we get home. Love to all, and I want to make sure the prolific writers, the Tullys, know they are included !! Love ya. Mona
