Anna Bay Antics
Way to go Lisa and Ronnie
In Mackay at the moment, and enjoy just getting in the truck and driving, went over to Airlee today, just for a walk around. I was here in the early 90's and it sure has changed. Very dry up here and the rains have just started so it should green the place up. All the sugar cane fields!! Imagine all the toads hiding in there. Yuck. And all the fairy floss that could be made. I love driving past the mills and smelling the sugar. Hiked through a gorge to get to a waterfall. thought I was climbing everest. But it was worth it. I jumped into the water clothes and all and had the breath knocked out of me. Boy was it cold, but oh so refreshing. I didnt want to get out. When I did I was dry in 5 minutes. Went fishing, caught a few nothing to brag about though. Ended up eating at Sails and had a lovely piece of Spanish Mackrel. I am looking forward to heading back home and settling down for awhile, not too long though. Might head over to NZ for a look around, only because number one son is there of course. Anyway my evening meal has been served so I will say cheerio.
Lisa did you catch up with the Tully clan while you were in Bourke. Lissa or Peter didn't mention that they saw you

Hello Sara and Aunties (I think that is all who read?)
Sorry that I have not been on the blog - have not been on the computer at home for over 12 weeks. Huge computer problems - still have no sound, but all else works. I did try to get on a few weeks ago but I could not remember the pass word. Sara helped me out, but then I have not been back.
Almost too long ago to recap all we have been up to. I did see Aunty Ces and Uncle Ray in Taree a while back. I was playing in a hockey carnival and they came over. It was great to catch up. saw Johnno and Vickie recently too. So good to see them so happy together.
In the recent school holidays, Ronny and I went on a road trip with Zappa in our campervan. Thought we would go into Queensland and head west - reaching about Thargomindah. Well, we had so much fun going west, we kept going. Ended up in Birdsville - 1600km west of Brisbane. It was such a blast. We had so many adventures, would not know where to start if I was to write them. From Birdsville, we went south into South Australia to Innamincka, then back through Queensland into NSW to Tibooburra. The roads were very hairy. We were the only non 4-wheel drive vehicle on just about every dirt road we travelled - and there were many. When we fish-tailed in the red bulldust and drove through a sand storm blasting and vision was only about a metre - I did start to get worried! However, all part of the adventure and everything was fun. From Tibooburra there we headed to Bourke. When we were just outside of Wanaaring we passed a small truck. I was driving, and I said to Ronny "that looks like Johnno". Ronny would not believe me, but I was sure. As we drove into Bourke we went straight to his place - sure enough his truck was not there. Anyway, we caught up with them the next morning, it was lovely (and it was Johnno and Vickie in the truck!) Stopped in Moree on the way home, had a night there to soak in the thermal pools (and soak away the bulldust!) 4200kms in all, but we did not feel like we rushed at all.Some days we only travelled a few hours. On our way home we did a few longer stretches, but it was awesome.
Will put up a few photos of our trip. (After photos - could have put up heaps but narrowed it down to a few).
While we were busy having fun, so were Jane and Stewart. Jane and Patrick spent a month in Europe having a ball, while Stewart was in San Francisco for 3 weeks. Mum and Dad were at Jane's looking after things there. All are now back to their respective homes, safe and happy.
Sara, I have only spoken to Jane briefly, so I do not know what she did in London or if she tried to ring Mark. I did pass on the numbers. I will be with her in Coffs Harbour next week as we will both be marking the English HSC exam paper. Jane has already started marking, I start on Saturday. I will stay in unit with her, so I will hear all her stories then.
Funny thing happened last night. Mum said that Dad agreed to let her drive him to Lodge last night, as there have been incidents the last two times Dad drove ( car trouble late at night ). Dad does not like to impose on others so he would not ask a friend to drive him (even though he has spent a life time running after others). Mum got her mobile phone out and she tried to teach him to use it. All he had to do was phone home. He got so frustrated, it would not sink into him which buttons to press. Eventually dad said - "perhaps I will ask a friend to drive me home! "(The friend was more that happy to help!)
So, hope I have recapped enough without taking up too much of your time.
As I said, am out next week, but hope to be on again in just over a week.

Hello Peoples, just a quickie. Tony's surgery went well yesterday, doctors repaired the valve rather than replace it but the doc' in ICU said to me "only thing is we don't know how long it will last. Could last the rest of his life but then it might not". I haven't told Tony that, he's been too drugged to take anything in anyway but he'd be a bit sore if he thought he may have to go through it all again some day. The Good Lord willing this will be the only op' necessary.
Giancarlo has been picking up some disgusting behaviors at school that I certainly won't share here but suffice it to say, he has passed them on to Angelina and her pretty looks hide the 'dark' angel hidden inside...
Sleep well Aunty and love to all over there. I must away to bed myself, I'm cactus so had better get to bed while it's still relatively early .

Pilot Mound back again
A very short note. We leave at 6am for Kell's, it is now 9pm and I need to soak in the tub for a good therapeutic hour then try to get some sleep. I have to be the one to wake and get coffee on and wake himself or we would be here at noon still. ! No news. We are all packed....car full of apples! I said to Bill, 'she won't thank you for this load you know'. He says 'that's her problem!'
Anyway, I won't be on line till at least 28th when we get home. We do check each day to see if anyone has written. Thanks for your nice long note, Sarie. Great to hear from you. And we like to hear the little antedotes ( I don't think that is the correct spelling..you know what I mean!)of the kid's, so do keep putting them on. It is the only way we get to see them growing up! Bill just came in, been out checking things in the yard, etc. We had snow but it has gone now. When we get home we have to face the leaves and dead flowers and all that.
I hope we are able to go visit Kate and co while we are over there.....need to check out the renovations!!! but Kell has a busy few days, so it may not happen.

No Aunt Mo', haven't left the country, sleeping? I should be so lucky. Mum was saying this morning or last night that she used to think "If only the kids would sleep another half hour". Hmm, the time will come when I'll be wishing they'll get out of bed, another 10 years for that I hope...
I've had the Optus blokes (well, their contractors) here this morning to hook up my internet. I'm switching because the door-to-door sales bloke made all these fantastic promises to me about how much better Optus will be and how much money I will save, new 'free' house phone with all local, national and calls to any mobile network free of charge so long as I stay with them for 24 months (there-in lies the catch). Faster internet with more download allowed and better mobile phone plans (once my current Telstra contracts expire). I'm yet to receive the 'free' house phone so I called him last night then again this morning and he said he'd bring it around personally on Sunday (these Indians work any day of the week). I will tell him he'd better stick with the deal he promised me and that I want the 'free' mobiles exactly as he'd promised me or I'll be submitting the 'Cancellation' form he gave me to for-go their offer in which case he'd lose the sale. We'll see...
Also had a lovely young fellow here to re-mount, wire up and gas up the air-con' in the lounge for us. He is the husband of one of the young mums at school and doe a/c installs, gas and maintenance as his trade. He was here all morning doing a heap of work and only charged us $250. God bless him, I will give Jess' (his wife) 3 at school on Monday. It would have cost us at least 5 with anyone else. In a couple of weeks when Tony comes home he will come back and mount the smaller one in this back room for us.
Mum is here with me for a couple of weeks while Tony goes to hospital. It's nice to kick back and have a glass of wine together at the end of the day. She is pottering around here looking lost because I won't let her do any washing. Poor Darling, she's asked 'do you want to put that doona cover through now while it's a nice day outside'? "No" I said "I'll wait 'till I have todays clothes ready tonight so it will be a full load". Only 1 load a day. After the last water and electricity bills I have to be exceptionally careful with power and water. Tony goes in on Tuesday morning.
The farm is running smoothly enough, kids are fed, washed and clothed every day (hmm, seems that's a definate requirement with children). Dogs are all still kicking although Giz' has a rugged choking cough, I think he must've swallowed a bone or something and scratched his throat. He also has a couple of tuma's on and in his bum but they've been growing for years and he's still in good health so they must be benign. Cats are all feral, Mother jumps on everyone who walks in the door and if they've been near cats themselves then she'll attack them. Birds are sitting on eggs, great :o/. Fish are all still swimming. The farmers aren't faring so well, I'm cactus and Tony's a zombie when he can get up...

Bernice, how was Fiji? I was thinking of you while the beach near Gregs place was being washed away with the huge seas while we were up there.
Aunties, What cities do you live nearest? Winnipeg, Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal, St Johns? I want to put it into my phone as I often look to see what time it is at Marks and would also like to for you but not sure of your location in relation to the cities already programmed into my phone.

Cool, cloudy Pilot Mound calling.
Morning all. Where the heck are you all? Payton girls, left the country? Tullys? Sleeping?
Surely someone has a minute to log on and give us some news? Are you all into the Face Book thingy? Too complicated for me, I can manage Blog, and E mail, but that is it. And thanks for your note and Pic's, Toni. I have no idea who or what the Blues Fest. is, but you had a good time, and that is all that matters. You said how beautiful "down south" was......that's how I feel every time I go home ! I carry pictures in my mind, then when I see it again, usually years later, it takes my breath away ! Not just south, but north, east and especially west !! Oh, yes, especially west! Not much to report here. We have had a week of really cold weather, with skiffs of snow...not welcome this year, we have to dig our carrots (about 1/4 acre of them) for Winnipeg Harvest on Tuesday. (W. Harvest feeds the poor and homeless in W'peg) Bill and I have a very busy week, but all going well, we will leave for Pincher on Monday 19th at about noon. My last appointment is to take the Princess for a hair cut on Monday morning, on to Brandon, leave her with her dad......to go to Arizona for the winter months.....no one asked me if it was OK to go for that long !! We go for hair cuts, then I hope get away from Brandon by 3pm, drive till dark, hole up in a Motel overnight, then on to Kell's next day. We gain an hour on the way over, but it is a long drive, then lose it on the way back, and that makes it longer!
Bill is calling me to go for a drive, and since it will be dark in an hour, I think we will go. As I said, no news, but now you know we are still here ! Love to all........the Complex is open, Hockey has started ! Keep your head up ! Love Mona I will try to put a couple of pic's on, the corner of the narthex at St. John's, and the hall way. We are decorated for Thanks Giving and Harvest. M
